Thanks mga sisses for your inputs... I think I really need to discuss this with the agent.  Andaming mga products pala and from there, I need to choose one that is more on investment and payment is preferably one time lang.

sa Flexilink, diba hati ang binabayad mo? part of it napupunta sa mutual fund, then some sa insurance.

- Yes sis. Dapat talaga one on one and in person ma discuss sayo lahat. Kasi dapat ira right fit talaga sayo yung kukunin mong policy. Most of our clients, kapag nakausap na namin sila e saka palang sila mag decide kung anong policy ang pwede sa kanila. We don't normally advise them ot decide kung anong policy or magkano dapat nilang ibigay.

Makikita mo din dun yung number of units mo.

vampirechick
- Yes of course. I have clients who are working and are based abroad. Basta andito lang sila kapag nag present and nag sign. :)

Yung Sunlife Assure (term insurance with CI and TB riders) ba, the insured needs to be in a certain stage of an illness, to avail of the benefits? Read before na ganoon daw. Just wanted to compare this with Manulife's YRT with same riders. My agent said that the coverage starts even at the earliest stage of an illness.

 ^

Were you the one who asked or did the agent volunteer that information?
I have  the ECI rider on my YRT and it does not cover early stages of
the illness.

I know AXA and Prulife have riders that do but they only cover
the early stages of at most 10 illnesses if I'm not mistaken.

^I was the one who asked, kasi nga I read that the riders cover only end stage illnesses. I even asked, to be sure,  "E.g., do I have to be in stage 4 cancer before I get the benefits?" The agent replied and said it covers even the earliest stages of an illness. Is it written somewhere in the contract ba?

kiz_me1109,

san nakikita un number of units? fund value lang kasi ang nakikita ko (though pede naman compute by dividing un current fund value by the current unit value and we get the number of units?)

thanks

Eto yun and let me know otherwise:

Flexi more on protection then Maxi more on returns.
FA - Flexi same as FA, Maxi 200% FA
Premium - Flexi is cheaper
Insurance Charges - Flexi up to 10th yr, Maxi up to 5th yr

@caterpillar, yes its in the contract but not in plain english.
Sunlife's critical illness for example says it won't cover
carcinoma in situ.

Basically cancer that hasn't spread to neighboring organs
is what I understood it to mean when I read up on it.

Thankfully, I my agent where I got my critical illness cover
has a doctor wife to interpret all the medical terms.  :D

I'm considering getting a VUL from Sunlife but may mga kaunting tanong pa ako. I'm meeting a Sunlife agent soon but baka may makasagot narin dito. Thanks in advance :D

1. Let's say I got a policy with face amount 500k. Possible ba na mapapalitan ko face amount to higher value (i.e. 1M)  if ever I want to do so sometime in the future?

2. When I die, will my beneficiaries receive the face amount PLUS the value of my investment? Or is it only one of each? E.g. either FA OR investment value, not both.

3. Other people here have said na importante alam muna goal before getting insurance. My goal is to increase/grow my capital plus leave something for my family in case something happens to me. Given that, I was thinking of getting Sunlife Maxilink Prime. Tama ba ako ng kukunin? hehe. I'm hoping someone can advise me. Thank you :)

I'm having critical illness checked by my FA as well because the statement was that it covers even early stages of cancer as soon as the insured is diagnosed.

Hi! Hope I am able to answer your queries with my inputs below:

1. The face amount of a policy remains as it is upon its approval and while in writing. But your fund value can can increase if you infuse additional investments or deposits in your Regular Pay VUL policy. It will also depend on the play of the economy or market values. Your face amount will be pegged at 500 thousand, but your fund value or living benefit can be more than 1 Million pesos.

2. Upon death of the policy owner or the insured, in case of a VUL insurance policy, the beneficiaries  will receive the Fund Value + the Guaranteed Face Amount. If the insured is living at the end of the policy contract which is at age 88, he will get the Fund Value.

3. On your third question, I would advise that you capitalize on the Guaranteed Face Amount sa magiging policy mo. This would serve as a "safety net" sa investment mo. Kung may naka-standby ka lang na pera sa low interest earning investment vehicle, it's really much better to look for other avenues that would maximize your returns.

By the way, try to check on the new product, Growth Plus Fund. Very promising. ;)

Good luck! :)

^depende sis sa risk appetite mo... I learned from 3 financial advisors, hindi magkaka-kilala itong 3 na ito ah, iisa lang sinabi nila sa akin, that equity is promising for the next 4-5 years... when I learned about that, I allocated my VUL to full equity fund.   ;) ;) good luck to us! hehe
