Has anyone tried Sun Safer Life? I got the following proposal:

P2Million Insurance Coverage - Payment starts at P10,590 / year (increasing every 5 years)

Sun Safer Life is the most affordable, cost effective Term insurance of Sun Life Financials (see actual proposal attached)
- In case of death, your beneficiaries will receive P2Million (200% of the Face Amount)
- In case of accidental death, beneficiaries will receive P3 Million (additional 1Million)
- In case of Total Disablement while paying, payment is waived during that period.
- Can be converted later on to a permanent or a vul plan.

The agent is quite far from my place kasi eh. Is it possible for me to get this directly from sun life without the help of any agent mga sis?  :-\

^ Sun Life will still assign an Agent to you. At the least, you will need the Agent to generate the proposal, submit the requirements to SL, explain the benefits of the policy, provide you updates or yearly reviews, to name a few. Basically the Agent is there to provide you service.

Hi po,

Newbie here. :)
Pure Life insurance ba or yung VUL(insurance+investments).

>> May life insurance bang mga 10 years ka lang magbabayad then insured ka na for a life time?
>> May insurance din ba na, in case di mo nagamit at natapos na yung plan, may money back guarantee?

If for example ang maging goal ko is mag ready lang dun sa 2 possible case na pwede mangyari sa atin:
WHAT IF I DIE EARLY?

And medyo bata pa kasi yung 2 kapatid ko.

WHAT IF I LIVE TOO LONG?

> ayoko maging burden sa family ko, and im planning also na in my retirement age, makapag pasyal-pasyal, etc.

Just for the sake of gaining financial freedom.

Hope someone can enlighten me. :)

Thanks for the reply po! I am planning to get a 5-year term insurance kasi after 4 or 5 years I'll be working overseas so I'm going to search a life insurance policy na applicable sa mga ofws by that time

Yes, traditional insurance works this way. Term insurance and VULs do not. In term, you keep paying for your insurance until age 70-80 or until you need it. In VUL, yes, you are insured until age 88-100, but that insurance is always being charged to and deducted from your fund value for the whole time the policy is in effect and even after the paying period. And just like in term, that insurance charge in VULs increases as you age.

Yes, examples are Insular Life's Sure Cash (http://www.insularlife.com.ph/products-services/for-individuals-and-families/savings/sure-cash-one-pay.html) and BPI-Philam's Life Protect Health (http://bpi-philam.com/life_protect_health.html). But cash-back or return of premium riders always come with dismal returns, which is typically 0-3% compounded annual return on the premiums you paid. With inflation rate at 4% or more, that is an unacceptable rate of return for investors like me.

What is advised is that you insure yourself as an income earner, and also have investments along with it to grow your savings. You can also get insurance and investments separately if you can handle them yourself.

If your goal is financial freedom, then learning how to handle your own investments is a must. The more you knowledge you gain, the more you will want to handle your own money. So yes, pure life insurance should more more than sufficient if that is your plan.

And who told you that it is not advisable "na puro ka lang sa stocks/mutual funds/and UITFs"? Statements like that only come from those who don't know what they're doing. Or someone who wants to sell you a VUL and get commission from it.

Hi mga sis! I have just paid 1-year premium as my first payment sa Sunlife under VUL, MaxiLink Prime. Should I feel this way? Or lahat talaga ng agent sa Sunlife eh hindi itatackle sayo yun unless you ask? This is my first insurance/investment kaya wala talaga akong alam about this. Thank you mga sis!

The agent should have discussed the proposal in its entirety.

With that said, there wasn't any reason for you not to know about
it.

The main proposal is just a page or two and the fees are discussed
in the proposal.

As long as your agent know what he/she is selling, wala namang problema dun :)

Question about Flexilink.
If your parent died of say Stroke, and when you got a plan, you did not declare that he died from Stroke but another illness, may difference ba yun? may negative/positive  effect ba?

Thanks!

saan mo ba gagamitin yung investment mo? if long term I suggest to change it to equity.

If ayaw mo na, just make sure na may laman yung investment fund mo para dun sila kukuha annually ng charges for your insurance.

Fund switching is free for about 4 times per annum. You are charged on the fifth time.

@marssie you need to fill out an Amendment Form and pass it to the office.

@rikki21 no effect
