^ang bait ni hubby mo sis. :)

oo nga. masayang masaya ako.:) sis belle_v2g and sis twinxz, kaming dalawa lang kasi ng mama ko ang magkapamilya. wala nang iba. wala akong kapatid at wala na rin dad. in 2 years senior citizen na mom ko, so mahirap kung siya lang mag-isa.

i have also lived away from my parents since i started working...i remember when we were studying for our board exams in manila, i used to cry every time my parents called because it was my first time to be away from home...but as the years passed, i soon learned to take care of myself and to get used to the idea of not having my family around me all the time...when i left for sg, my parents told me that they cried when they got home after taking me to the airport...same as belle_v2g, i don't think anyone will cry on my wedding day anymore because they have already cried over me leaving (except for myself...hahaha!)
however, we do need to leave our parents and cleave to our husbands (as maricar and her husband have blogged). we need to stand on our own and make our own decisions without our parents hovering over our shoulders. we need to make our own mistakes and learn from them in our own way :-)

case to case basis lang yan. wala nang kasama mom ko sa bahay. baka parents nyo may mga kasama pa, so okay lang. you probably do not understand because you are not in the same situation. "make decisions without parents hovering over our shoulders" ---correct, pero hindi naman yun ang purpose ko why i am going to take her with me. i do not have siblings, no other parent. if anything happens to my mom nobody else will come to her aid. hindi naman lahat tayo pare-pareho ng situation. yung iba konti lang ang kapamilya, like mine.

hi fionaapple, i'm sorry, i didn't mean to offend you or anyone else, i'm only giving my thoughts on the matter in general. for you, you need to be with your mom.
however, there are also other people who have essentially stayed with their parents/in-laws and their experiences are not ver good like in the married life section of gt.

same here sis fionapple.gusto ko din isama si mom when we have our own house kaso sya ang may ayaw.meron pa naman sya makakasama sa house, yung dalawang niece ko at si kuya na seasonal umuwi kasi nasa field ang work.broken fam kasi kami e. my dad lives in the states with her second wife.as a bunso, yun talaga ang iniisip ko kasi no one will take care of her but me.pero yung twin sis ko naman nakatira within the same village kaya may titingin tingin sa kanya every now and then.depende talaga sa situation ang magiging decision natin regarding dito.

Hi Sis, you can try Ma Del's they offer a package that's almost complete. I can send you their package if you want. Thanks!

Hi Sis! Try mo mag pa full coordination sa ZRM Events. Tagaytay-based sila. May full wedding package sila na 300,000 PHP lang, all-in na. Siya ang OTD ko at magkakakilala sila ng mag suppliers na nabook namin. Okay daw si Maam Irene.

sis belleve_v2g, yes, she is still working at 58 years old.

i had to explain because you might think that i am a person who cannot decide for myself. anyway, it's alright, we all have a point. i just wanted to stress that what may be good for you may not be good for other people. thank you for the advice.

im the only child of my parents.kaya my dad practicallt built a condo type extension sa 2F ng house namin for us.it's a separate household walang daan to the other side of the house.pero same gate.hehe.
anyway point is, same as one of the sisses have pointed out, ako lang anak ng parents ko, i feel that i have the responsibility to take care of them when the time comes na i would be needing to.luckily blessed ako to have a fiancé na ganun din mag-isip.
anyway, i can tell why this can be a sensitive topic for some.

sis fionaapple, that's really nice na makakasama mo ang mom mo lalo na at nasa age na sya na maigi talaga na hindi sya mag-isa sa bahay kaya very good si hubby mo at iniisip nya din ang kapakanan ng mom mo. :)

sis jentotmd, agree ako jan. kung tayo ay pinalaki at inalagaan maigi ng mga magulang natin, it is just right na tayo naman ang umalalay sa kanilang pagtanda. your dad is like my lolo pala. :) si lolo naman inextend nya yung bahay to make room for another house and pinataasan yung bahay so my tito and tita with their families can live there. add to that na nagpagawa talaga sya ng maraming rooms para pag bakasyon lahat ng anak & apo nila ay may tutuluyang kwarto. :)

sis berryprincessy, package kase yung kinuha namin sa kanila. MV's husband is our P/V supplier tapos kasama sa promo na inavail namin yung HMUA services ni MV. nakipag-meet lang kame kay michael tapos sa kanya kame nag-dp at contract signing. kung malapit ka sa south sis pwede ka naman pa-appointment. ako naman ang only supplier na binook ko without meeting personally is our OTD, imbitado events. what ayie did was create a contract na naka-indicate yung names namin and she sent it to me via email. yung dp receipt & acknowledgment via email lang din namin ginawa and para sa'ken pwede na sigurong patunay yun na valid ang transactions namin and nag-commit na sya to provide us her services.
if medyo wary ka pa rin sa online booking sis, maybe our other sisses here can shed some light regarding sa legalities pagdating jan. :)

maraming tao ang nagpo-point out the "leave and cleave" pointers ni maricar and richard. tama rin sila. pero siguro, hindi lahat ng advice nila magwowork para sa lahat ng situation. i still believe in taking care of my parent who nurtured me and gave me unconditional love and devoted all the fruits of her work and her time to me when i was still young and dependent on her. may mga nakita na ba kayo elderly men and women who wander the streets with no one to take care of them and depend on, and begging for food and money? a probable reason why some, if not all of them, have no food or shelter is because their children might have chosen to "leave and cleave"--to sever ties with the parents after marriage.

for those who choose to "leave and cleave," tama rin ito. pero once the elderly parents are old and cannot take care of themselves, what will happen? should you bring the parent to the home for the elderly? for some, it can be a choice, and I am not in any position to say whether it is right or wrong. but for me, i will not do that to my own mother.

right now, i do not want to wait for the time that she becomes old and sickly before i take her under my own roof. i want her to know that she will have nothing to worry when she gets old.

what i really mean is, it is my choice because of my situation. we all make our own choices. :)

thank you f878. i do feel lucky to have a husband who understands my situation and who is also concerned about my own mother.

Girls, what do you think about 'fund our honeymoon' ideas? Kung kayo yung guests and the couple suggested na instead of bridal registry and/or cash gifts, why not pledge for our honeymoon na lang. Ano say nyo? Actually may websites na for this purpose but I wanna know the thoughts of other people about this.

^ true sis. sobrang close ko kasi sa family ko since kaming tatlo nga lang talaga from the start magkakasama. one of my conditions nga noon sa magiging hubby ko is if he can treat my family as his own and not as in-laws. blessed tayo sis na ganun ang mga hubby natin. :) walang hassle :)

in my humble opinion, the expenses for the honeymoon should be part of the wedding expenses. meaning, dapat allot ka ng funds for this sa preps pa lang. as my husband said "plan until the end."

pero kung ito ang request ng couple, i will honor it and contribute to their fund.:) i do not mind kahit pa some people think asking for monetary gift is tacky. when it comes to weddings, i always honor the couple's request.

hi fionaapple, just to add to what i said, i do understand those people who want to take care of their parents when they grow old because even my husband and i want to do that. in fact, we each send home a fixed amount every month to our parents even if they didn't ask us to because we want them to be comfortable. this will continue for as long as we can do it. however, i still believe in living our married lives separately from our parents :-)

hi juwie, that's actually a great idea. we were thinking of saying something along the lines of "your presence at our wedding is present enough. however, if you would like to give a little something to celebrate our wedding today, we would be truly thankful for a small donation to our future house" but we decided against it and just told people by word of mouth that we don't need boxed gifts. i read on theknot.com that it's okay to ask for monetary gifts but make sure to tell guests what it's for. so i think you're on the right track :-)
