^Sis i really laughed reading your post! Haha ang ganda lang ng delivery mo, it was entertaining to read. :P

I actually get what you mean. Whenever I schedule a dinner with certain friends, and it's not as if that dinner is so frequent ha, there's always this certain friend who says she will leave early (ang gusto niya e start kami ng 6pm so she can leave by 8 and go home to her strict hubby) and the rest of us always find it so laughable that she even wants to do that. Ano ba yun as if naman 9pm bedtime niya. Sobrang under lang niya talaga sa hubby kahit she knows na the hubby's already being unreasonable. Always makes us raise our eyebrows even if we're friends.

For a wedding, yes I tend to agree that if you're really friends with the groom/ bride gagawan mo ng paraan to attend especially since it's ito only once in a lifetime, if there's a will, there's a way ba. Honestly, i hate seeing guests leaving the wedding early (nang hindi pa nagstart yung party talaga with the DJ)--- parang kasi pinakain lang sila nung couple tas alis na. I would understand if they say they have to go by 11 or 12, kasi they have work the next day. But to go at 9 or 10pm and if these are single people without families naman, medyo annoying nga iinvite. Sigh. Hehe. Kami sis super early reception as in 5:30-9:30 siguro then party DJ nalang for the next 2-3 hours. But i also think that your real close friends will stay naman. Mostly ang nappredict ko na hindi would be the officemates i "have" to invite pero di ko naman talaga close friends. :P

^ its true sis!!! I personally can't stand it when people are like that. I'd rather no one go than have to deal with stuff like that. Tama ka, if there's a will, there's a way.

I will only be understanding of our guests who are old na....which is maybe like 95%.  ;D But super sad naman if after the program na, no one stays for the DJ or band! We will look so kawawa. I attended a wedding kasi wherein after dinner and the program, they had a dj, but no one even remembered the songs that the dj was playing kasi everyone was leaving already. As in they turned on ALL the lights. sayang lang. sana that doesnt happen to us or anyone else here!

If you don't want to go to my wedding and would rather go to an inuman or bar, good for you. That is the reason why I'm getting married and you're still single. Thats one less plate to pay for, so okay lang sakin. Mean but true!!!

^Haha laughtrip ka talaga sis! I feel the angst!! :D Hayaan mo na sis. Pray nalang na instead of confirming and leaving after being fed a 7-course meal they say di nalang sila pupunta at all :P
Kaso meron talagang pupunta lang for the food e, esp if your food is good and alam nila na its worth 2-3k per head. Oh well, di rin kasi ma-avoid. Wag ka na pa-stress sa uncontrollable factors. :)

Ay yes old people of course i understand, no need for explanations. Antok na sila eh, and the DJ isn't exactly their thing. hehe

I read an article about that but guys instead. It's the usual "under the saya" husband who drinks 1 bottle then leaves because his wife is strict. It says, since they are friends, they should even be the one promoting activities that would not harm their friend's relationship with his wife. Instead of cajoling him, they should remind him to just have one bottle then go home. That way, they still get to have a moment with their friend and can even "persuade" the wife that it's ok to spend time with them (that they are not B.I. friends). First time to hear that happening to a wife but just wish her the best :)

For wedding guests naman, I'm on the other side of the coin. I guess I just didn't want to stress out over these things so if guests stayed, thank you. If not, I didn't think much about it.  One thing I always see here and in W@W is to let go.

IF there's really something they need to do or there's a circumstance they can't get out of, it's understandable.
But those who party on weekdays.. Ah, this one is bad! Personal preference na not to prioritize you. Get them off your list if you haven't yet.

For us, there was a high probability our guests can't stay long (not party people) so what we did was have a short program and no after party na lang. Sayang if we spend on drinks and music yet few people will be there.
This is really one of the risks for weekday weddings.

Maybe our married sissies can share their experiences on the after party?

^Haha i guess the part i missed pointing out is that whenever we invite that friend for dinner, it's really just dinner and bonding, we don't even go drinking. So in no way are we being BI or endangering her way home. We even volunteer to bring her home if she'll just stay until 9pm. The fact that her husband is really just anti-social and controlling-- no friends, and doesn't appreciate that we are there for his wife--- is just really a turn-off pero di na kami nakikielam. Not just in that but in other things too, she is controlled. Not allowed to wear this and that. Ohwell, ganun e. For me it's her choice rin, she can easily say no naman kasi but doesn't have the courage to. So oh well papel. :p

You're right, we don't all have to stress about the guestlist. It's just that some of us choose to be more particular with how the guests behave and take it more personally. :)

Naka-attend ako ng wedding reception program that ended at 10:30ish and the after party lasted til 2:30am. Ang saya, madaming tao pa mostly yuppies dancing to the DJ. Ok lang naman if not everyone joins pero masaya if may mga matira to dance with the couple. My wish for mine is kahit +1-2 hours pa of partying after.

Pasali na rin dito  ;) Our wedding is on a Wednesday morning, 10AM start ng ceremony & I hope the festivities will finish before 6PM. Yung colleagues ko sa workplace exclaimed that since December raw yung wedding ko, mahirap daw magRequest off nun. Sana magawan ng paraan. It's a shame naman if di sila makapunta.

The advantage is that, the next days are weekend, maybe an off to work or days for bonding. Disadvantage is that, not all the visitors might come because it's a working day. :)

We'll be having a weekday wedding too. Friday afternoon kami then evening reception kaya as early as March ininform ko na agad yung members ng ento ko so that they could block that date na and plot their leaves in advance. Pati mga overseas friends ko sinabihan ko na din at nakakataba ng puso na uuwi talaga sila for our wedding. :) Just tell your guests in advance lang and kagaya nga nung sabi ng iba dito, if you really matter to them, they will make a way to attend your wedding :)

We had the usual 3pm ceremony and was able to finish at 8pm. The locations and the program are factors that would determine the timings.

Test of friendship and love ang weekday wedding. Di namin mamove yung wedding because its our anniversary. Nakakatouch lang na yung mga overseas friends namin are willing to take their leave for our special day.
Feb 7 2017 pa yung wedding namin pero 3 pm po yung start ng ceremony sa tagaytay.praying for a good weather and attendance of our guest as well.

We plan our wedding on my h2b's birthday, so mahirap naman i move yun! Haha. Thursday sya natapat.

Update lang ako sisses, aside from changing the Church, we also changed the time slot na kasi my fiance & I felt na mas maganda lang yung ganun. Same date, December 14, 2016 1PM at Manila Cathedral. We opted for the fully airconditioned option so kahit naka-formal wear sila e hindi sila maiinitan. We're considering ma-pre-cool yung church for 30minutes para comfy talaga. Kahit strict yung church ok lang kasi ito talaga ang nagbigay sa akin ng "this is it" feeling. No closed door entrance sila for the bride kasi after the renovation they had metal doors na, sobrang bigat.
Cool kasi yung pagkakasunod ng numbers e (12/14/16) tapos this is a day before our 35th monthsary & if you're a bit superstitious like me, may full moon sa gabi.

Hi Sisses,

We are also going to have a Weekday Wedding. It's going to be a Wednesday, Out of Town pa. So we are really asking a lot from our guests kaya we would like to ensure na it would be memorable and enjoying din sakanila.

I'm sure not everyone (although we are only inviting 70 super pili na guests) will be able to come due to work kasi they have to travel by plane Tuesday to make sure ready din sila and hindi exhausted. So aside from filing leave from work, they have to spend also for the ticket... hindi naman sasama loob ko if they can't attend. And sure naman ako the people who are like superfamily na sa amin will be there.

Siguro don't expect nalang na everyone can attend. Don't be too hurt. Send the invites or save the date as soon as possible. Nothing's too early naman kapag ang daming bagay na icoconsider and ipaplan.

Hopefully other sisses na nakagraduate na can also share their experience. :) :)
