Weekday Wedding

True sis! And thanks sa inputs. Kapag importante talaga kami sa family/friends namin and masaya sila para sa amin, they will be there no matter what. Plus pwede naman sila makapahinga after our wedding kasi Nov 30 (Monday) is a PH holiday hihi.

Question, given our wedding day's circumstance, can we already send Save The Date invites, kahit sa Facebook lang muna? Or is it too soon? It's around 10months from now. Don't wanna appear too excited although I really am. hehe

Hi, Sis! We are almost in the same predicament. Yours will involve a Friday with a long holiday to boot. Pareho tayo kasi December 18 ako. That's the last Friday before Christmas. I was actually thinking twice on holding it on a Sunday but my friend told me that at that period it doesn't matter already because everyone is on Christmas mode and can be a little relax na. Kalaban ko lang mga parties.

What I am doing right now is telling and messaging friends (especially mga entourage/prospective entourage/out of town guests) of our date. I told them to file their respective leaves already, make arrangements, etc. I will officially send out Save The Date invites by July or 5 months before the wedding or until we are settled/booked with our major suppliers.

Btw, I am planning to have 180-200 guests in our wedding. My planner already told me to just confirm 150 to the caterer muna and we can add/reconfirm after our RSVP is settled na. She is also managing my expectations on fall-outs.

Ours will be on June 2 which is a Tuesday. My save the date cards are for printing na by Concepts & Technology and will be distributed mid-January. Aside from that, I made a Facebook event and invited only my prospective guests.. kept posting and reminding them that the wedding is on a weekday, that they might as well make arrangements and confirm as early as now, coz we only have 5 months to go.. So far, may mga nagcoconfirm naman. Mas madali kasi silang kulitin that way hahahaha!

hi girls, share ko lang. we met with our coordinator yesterday and she shared na ang dami niya daw naka-sked na weekday wedding and madami pa daw nag-iinquire na weekday din. sabi niya, it's becoming a trend. before puro out of town like tagaytay and batangas, ngayon weekday and very intimate wedding naman daw

Ours will fall on Friday naman. Small wedding so mas manageable. Informed the guests after we got engaged (7months ago). Hehe

Wedding day is on Feb 2015, thursday. We choose this day because 5th anniv namin. Maraming slots sa weekend that time pero we don't mind it. We tell all the invited people a year before and remind them every 3 months. Maraming nagtataka at speculations at chismis bakit weekday. Before, hindi ko matanggap bakit yung iba kong closed friends di makakapunta. Dami excuses and etc. Bakit hindi daw weekend and etc. We just move on with our wedding preps. Pumunta man sila o hindi, go pa din ang wedding... What matters most is yung mga taong nagpapahalaga sa inyong dalawa at ano pa man, pupunta at pupunta sila sa wedding. Yun dapat ang pahalagahan nyo din, sa mga nagbigay ng oras at effort, makapunta lang...  ;-)

parang test of friendship ang weekday wedding no? I don't mean to say na gusto kong i-test yung love ng relatives and friends ko but in a way, malalaman mo din kung sino talaga yung gusto pumunta para ma-witness yung important event na 'to sa buhay niyo.

Mine is a friday wedding also. I believe the following monday is a special non working holiday (chinese new year)? Hoping na maengganyo ang mga guests to take a leave since long weekend din siya.
What i am planning to do is to overinvite para hindi naman langawin ang wedding. Sayang din ang preparations namin kung hindi naman makakapunta most of our guests.

We started sending electronic save the dates to our family and friends. I'm happy that, so far, most of our closest friends have either joined our FB event or sent their RSVPs. I was just surprised with a few whom I thought would, without any doubt or hesitation, attend our special day. Turned out otherwise with some (others no feedback pa).

I understand that not everybody will attend, pero ganun pala noh, kahit papano may sad feeling pa rin. Yun lang. Just wanted to get that off of my chest. Hahahaha.

I just wanna ask, which would you prefer? A wedding on a Monday or Wednesday? Both our special dates fell on those days kasi e. It's only a matter of choosing ano ang best day for guests and everyone else. Be waiting for your feedback

Ours is on Thursday, April 9 which is a holiday.

We send out e-save the date cards as early as September 2014 kasi baka may mga guests na mag out of town during the weekend nun.

I just wanna ask, which would you prefer? A wedding on a Monday or Wednesday?

Personally, I'd choose Monday because it sort of becomes a "long weekend" for the guests. Our wedding actually falls on a Monday Pero syempre, best pa rin if you can make an informal survey among your closest friends and relatives, just so you would get an idea which date would have more attendees.
