i think the other thread got locked already?

anyway i'm back to juicing and i'm doing the mean green juice recipe. we dont have kale so we used spinach instead then it has cucumber, apples, celery, ginger, lemon. it doesnt taste good haha! but malakas daw maka-lose ng weight so game ako haha! i was actually thinking of adding tomatoes kasi i love tomatoes and the benefits you get from it para rosy cheeks. maybe i will do that in my next juicing: mean green with tomatoes haha!

and to add pala, i dont use a juicer but i use a blender kasi i dont want to get rid of the fiber. now it got me thinking if paregalo tuloy ako ng nutribullet. haha!

Hi sisters! I am currently on juicing for 2 weeks already. First, I tried 3DAYS detoxify bar (active cleanse: good for people who workout; lost 2lbs with treats pa yan minsan). Then on my second week, I self-juice na lang. I use Breville Slow Juicer (masticating), and I was able to compare it kasi may Jack Lalanne si mommy ko sa province namin. I really noticed the difference: with my Breville, pigang piga ang fruits and veggies {worth it!}, even wheatgrass hindi makaka ligtas. Tumatagal ang juice ko hindi agad napapanis. Some pulp na incclude sa juice container ko so i know may fiber akong nakukuha.. Tahimik na tahimik while juicing. For a start, I just copy detoxify bar's recipe and nakukuha ko naman ang lasa kahit hindi nila provided ang measurements. {I kept all the bottles and thermal bag they provided at yun ngayon ang gamit ko at home} Ang saya mag juice ha, pero hindi na kapag washing time lol With this, i also workout 6x a week, weight training and running and boxing as my cardio.. So far so good! Improvements, I noticed my skin kahit nung una hindi ako naniniwala, radiant at nag clear ang skin ko, para bang less madumi tignan than before. lost pounds tapos very particular na ang taste bud ko sa oily food. Parang diri na ako pag super oily lasang lasa ko. Then hindi ko na maubos ang same amount na nakakain ko before sa isang plato, meaning i dont binge anymore. I know when to stop.. I also have my treats kapag alam kong i effin deserve it. At mas madalang ako mag crave ngayon. During the process, I experienced migraine, lightheadedness and such.. {okay lang saakin coz i know detoxification yon, meaning EFFECTIVE!} Hindi ito recommended sa mga taong madalas mag drive dahil gagawin ka nyang lutang sa first 2-4 days mo..

This coming week, im planning to take it to a whole new level. Mas seseryosohin ko, meaning, without treats, mas strikto. My plan is to juice fast for 2 weeks kasi target ko to lose is 25lbs. After watching {Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead} i learned he lost 24lbs on his Day14 given im working out pa so I know sobra sobra pa ang 2weeks but that's my goal so im sticking with it. Im gonna start tomorrow, SUNDAY.

Totoo lahat ng nabasa ko sa first thread, it should be 80% veggies-20% fruits, strictly if you want to lose weight, pero kung detox2 lang or maintenance i think 70-75% veggies-30-25% fruits will do. Hinay2 sa carrots kasi naging orange ang skin undertone ko, but dont worry kasi once you stop naman it will go back to your normal skintone. I really love apple as my neutralizer or sweeter kapag bitter ang recipes ko. If you dont like your juice with pulp like me, i use strainer para juice lang talaga, i usually juice 10 bottles{for 2 days juicing ko na yon} i put mine in ref, mas gusto ko malamig, refreshing sa tropical weather we have here in PI

Now, Im going out to find kale and green veggies.. I always try my best to find organic ones.. Sana maka score today. HAPPY JUICING SISTERS! SHARE DIN KAYO NG TIPS! :D

^ omg dahil din sa i'm doing the green smoothie thing namamalengke na ako ngayon! hahaha! i wanna see the produce available lol.

aaay naku sis i bought like 12 carrots pa naman kasi i'm planning to put it in my juice. btw i stopped the mean green. i really cant stomach it and i dont enjoy it so i dont think magiging sustainable siya for me. now i'm doing veggies + fruit green juice. ang nagagawa ko palang is 50-50 but i'm planning to ump it up to 70:30 sana.

btw i use it as meal replacement kasi i think it's nutrient packed naman though namamapak ako ng tuna on the side for my protein and healthy fat source. for 2 weeks i tried adding avocados kaso i cant taste the avocado naman and i dont know how to properly store them so ayun this week no more avocados for me (and it's not in season so mahal). ngayon i only eat breakfast tapos for lunch green smoothie + tuna/grilled chicken/fish then nagmemerienda ako tapos green smoothie na lang din sa gabi (though this is actually an addition to my usual meal kasi di na talaga ako nagdidinner for years).

ang benefits is soft skin (like a baby's!). dati kasi i apply vco to get the soft baby like skin pero ngayon i get the same results without the hassle and the smell of vco haha! plus weight loss (though i dont really keep track of my weight) and clear glowing skin ;)

Masarap na combo: carrots + tiny amount of mango

Matamis! Maybe because of the mango. Hehe.

HI AGAIN! It's been 4 weeks since I started my juicing plan. It's all your call, this is only my tip na naexperience ko. Also, I was able to score KALE, lots of them sa farmer's maket na napuntahan ko, lucky me kasi malapit lang sa place ko. May suki na din ako sa palengke haha! kilala na nila ako kapag pupunta don, first time i went there they immediately asked me if im on juicing sa dami ng binibili ko, i said YES, i guess familiar sila or madami din bumibili sakanila pang stock for juice fasting, and some people passing by would stop and ask me "miss para san yang mga gulay mo?" hehe i usually buy every Sunday good for 1 week na yung kinukuha ko. So far so good! I lost xx lbs. :)

I also incorporated wheatgrass, chia seeds, coconut water, and protein shake. I have reasons for each of them, wheatgrass as my health supplement grabe ang nagawa sakin nito, yung tulog ko napakahimbing, hindi ako nagkakasakit, i dont use deodorant anymore kasi walang amoy ang sweat ko. chia seeds to boost my energy to support my workout routine 6x a week. coconut water for electrolytes, and protein shake coz im building my abs and cuts on my shoulder for this coming summer 2015! :D

I am planning to start another diet {master cleanse} coz i feel that it already plateau-d on me hehe pero im only doing it for 10-14 days, then i will back to this coz i believe mas kumpleto ang vitamins and mineral ng veggie-fruit fasting.

^^^^@iwannabeasupermodel i dont know pero masarap naman sa akin ang mean green recipe :) hindi mapait i just follow the recipe with exact measurement of the ingredients ANG SARAP KAYA! hehe okay na yung ratio mo sis, ako naman kaya ko na 80% veggies - 20% fruits, i always limit myself to 2 apples a day distributed na yan sa 5 bottles i consume per day. Like you, my plan is to make it as my meal replacement once i reach my weight goal :)

^^^@cry_mandy sis i bought it when i was still living in USA, pinadala ko lang thru cargo shipping to PINAS, im sorry i cant remember the exact price. Meron ding breville dito sa atin pero they dont offer the model i bought (slow juicer)

TOTOO na mahal mag juice fasting pero only if you buy in hypermarkets, try to buy in farmer's market at makikita mo ang BIG difference sa price. Plus, naiisip ko minsan mas deserving na mapunta sakanila ang pera ko kasi sila yung mas nangangailangan kesa sa mga may ari ng hypermarkets. AND DONT FORGET IT'S ORGANIC!

Hi Serena,

May I know the wheatgrass you use in your juice? Fresh or powdered? if powdered, what brand?

Also, hope you can share exact location of your organic suki in Farmer's market? :) Dumadayo pa kasi kami sa Makati weekend market to get organic produce which is quite far from our place - East area.

Thank you in advance.

PS.
Where is the nearest & safest parking if going to Farmer's? Sensya na not familiar with the place. Thanks again. :)

Serena.

^@Aubn As always, I use FRESH sis.. :) I dont trust the powdered ones, hindi ko alam kung anong process at chemicals ang dinaanan ng mga yon.

I know that Farmer's Market in Makati you mentioned, malayo din sakin yan kaya hindi sya suitable sa location ko. I go to Centri Farmer's Market, every Sunday sila andon from 6AM to 2PM. Makikita mo madaming mga hut magkakatabi.

Maraming parking near the place so it wont be a problem. :) HTH!

I bought some pechay and added it to my juice. Mataas daw kasi nutrient density ng pechay. I think it's the second. Haha.

I'm planning din on juicing to give my digestive system a break ;D  Seriously though, I need to commit to this!  For weight loss kasi kelangan kong matutunan humindi muna sa food kasi napapalakas na naman ang kain ko.  I want to gain control again of my eating habits.  Gusto ko din bumalik ang dating condition ng skin ko kasi sa dami ng kinakain kong junk lately, nag-su-suffer na.  Sana talga magawa ko.  I'll be starting this weekend.  Nagawa ko ang master cleanse for 10 days a couple of years ago.  Ang plan ko for juicing this time is 2 weeks muna, then if feel ko kaya pa i-extend, then go.

My mom who's 60 na, she did this for 3 months, just replacing breakfast with a green smoothie.  Blender lang ang gamit ni mommy and hindi bonggang juicer.  She lost 30 lbs!  She looks so good and mas fit pa yata saken LOL.  She also said mas ok nga daw more veggies sa juice.

Sis Serena., yung 2 weeks mo strictly juicing din ba?  Nagawa mo pa bang mag-workout?  Gusto ko din sana tuloy tuloy pa din ang workout, kaso worried baka mahilo naman ako.

I've been buying non GMO bottled super greens juice for a while now and finally decided to start making my own.
Juicer was delivered today..lOmega 8006 masticating juicer.  I didn't know there were different kinds of juicers.  Centrifugal vs. masticating.
Just went on a produce haul:  collards, green kale, celery, cucumber, spinach, parsley, carrots all organic.  Lemons and green apples to start.
More recipes to explore, bought Joe Cross' 101 juice recipes.  Very excited to try it out!!

Juicing Diary & Experiences
« Reply #17 on: November 21, 2015, 09:34:12 pm »
Hi mga sis,
this is about my juicing journey..Although, parang nawala na siya sa uso.. hehe. Mods, I hope I posted this to the rightsub forum.. If not, please move to the right one lang po.. thanks :) I'll try to make my post as realistic as possible.. If anyone has any questions not addressed in this post, feel free to ask. If anyone has any inputs or would like to compare experiences, feel free to share them also.

(I'm not the best person to ask what the best juicer is, or the best recipes are.. just a disclaimer)

Reason for juicing:
Nutrients
Glowy skin (if this is true)

P.S. I'm NOT juicing to lose weight, if anyone's gonna ask me if I lost weight, I wouldnt be able to give an accurate answer.

I first started juicing way back 2013 with just a basic JML centrifugal juicer. We juiced mostly sweet things such as apples, pears, cucumbers, watermelons, radish and the occasional ampalaya.

The first few days were a nightmare, I felt the "healing crisis". I drank around 150 ml twice a day. I did not go on a diet, I just drank it before breakfast.. I experienced sore throat, dizziness, and asthma. It eventually disappeared though..around a week later.

I noticed NO CHANGES to my skin or complexion and no memorable compliments were received during this time. Although, "I think" I lost one pound by accident. (I am not fat/chubby, I am around 45 kgs, 5'2)

Fast forward to 2015, I decided to give it a try again, and this time.. with leafy veggies.

My only goal in juicing is to have amazing skin (and I'm disappointed so far LOL ) and a glow.
My juice this time is: kale, aragula, spinach, red lettuce, romaine lettuce, watermelon, apples, pineapples and pears.

I found that pineapples are good and cheaper. Only downside is the hassle of removing the eyes :/

Been juicing since November 4 with this recipe, juicing once or twice a week good for 3-4 days. Juicer is now Kuvings. (still spits out moist pulp, anyone know a juicer that really dries out the pulp? Powdered if possible haha)

No noticeable glow or difference to the skin.. a coworker said, I looked like I lost weight. I drink at least 1 liter of juice per day, maximum of 1.5L..Is this not enough? I also don't go on juice fasts. I drink it as a supplement only. I don't feel any more healing crisis also.. but there was one time, there was too much pineapple and I felt dizzy and I got a slight headache but that only happened once.

Anyone have tips or experiences they can share? Let's compare notes sisses :)

Is it okay to reply to my own post or should I just modify? Please advise.

Anyways, so proud to say that I'm been heavily binging on junk the past two weeks or past week ata and yet my tummy is still flat as ever ;) I also like how I tolerate veggies more! Fix na ako basta meaty ang sauce then veggies lang ang ulam with rice..

effective sa pagflat sa tummy ang juicing. P.s I have a very sedentary lifestyle, sit down palagi.. walk minsan mga 500-800 steps lang siguro max per day.

Meron pa bang nagjuice dito? :) Been juicing since 2013 on and off. Depende sa budget ko.

Scored kale and aragula 2 kilos each, 1.2k lang.. good thing organic, galing farmer talaga pero problema lang is dahil organic, sometimes I find insects sa leaves! EWW

was thinking of going into a juice fast/feast for 5 days. I started yesterday and talagang nagutom ako. mali ko kasi first juice, sinama ko ang raddish and ang sama ng lasa :( ayun, tinamad ako magjuice again. so ngcook na lang ako ng amapalaya with soy sauce.

today im planning to try pure watermelon lang or samahan ko ng pechay or tomato.

goodluck for today.

by the way, i'm into juicing kasi whole week last week andami ko nakain na pork and junks. parang ang sama ng pakiramdam ko. and I got inspired by fullyrawkristina on youtube :)
