Only if you invested on the first banking day of the year and if you've redeemed it on the last banking day of the year. Otherwise, 48% is considered unrealized gain. The actual gain (or loss) would be: redemption NAVPU less the NAVPU when you bought the units.

I opened UITF last Dec 15 2014, yung 10k investment ko nag-earn na ng 687 to date haha, nakakatuwa lang ang bilis, kaso wala pa ko time to visit their bank para magdagdag since morning shift na ako.

i opened last jan. 14, 10k initial investment then 5k to open an account - may passbook and atm, pwede rin daw ienroll online so you can add investments

@sachism: walang checking sis, passbook and atm lang

actually akala ko rin ATM lang pag 5k, pero we were given passbook din together with the ATM same day we opened the account

^ I see. Thanks sis. Nagopen din kasi husband ko. Pero Checking. Dko lang sure kung 5k din yun. Wala sya ATM and passbook though. Hindi kasi ako makasama sa bank kasi bed rest ako.

Pwede din naman gamitin yun for online banking ba? And as a settlement account for UITF?

Hi mga sis,

Inallow ako mag invest sa UITF kahit hindi na ako mag open ng savings account saknila. hindi ko alam ang difference. Sabi nung bank officer, settlement account 'yung inopen niya sa akin para makapag online banking ako. Hirap din kase mag maintain ng bank account tapos may maintaining balance eh. so ang nangyari, 'yung pang open ko ng savings, dinagdag ko sa investment ko.

^sis yung settlement account mo walang maintaining balance? Our payroll account is sb. Pero sabi sa branch hindi daw pwede yon kelangan magopen pa ng settlement account which is 5k ang maintaining balance.

^ sis, ang explanation ni Bank officer, oks lang mag invest sa UITF kahit walang account. ewan ko ba sakanya nagmamadali ako nung kausap ko siya. sabi nga dito sa forum need ng acct eh. double check ko ulit. kaya lang naman, wala na ako sa pinas.. kaloka..email ko na lang siya.

^^ When I invested sa equity fund nila ang meron akong account with them is ATM lang or yung cash card. What they did is opened a settlement account for me, they asked me how much i want to invest and I said 20K, they then transfer 20k from my ATM to that settlement account and then invest. So i think walang maintaining balance yung settlement account. Btw, this is Jan 21 of this year lang.

^ from what explained to us, yung settlement account is walang maintaining, and wala ring passbook nor atm.. downside is you cant enroll it online and view your investment account... pwede ka magcheck kung how much na gain mo thru their investment calculator lang... kaya nag open na lang kami ng savings account.. anyway, nasa 13k na ang profit namin... last jan 21 lang rin kami nag open, sana tuloy tuloy ang pag taas mga sisses... this is really way better than putting your money in savings account... buti na lang na convince ko si hubby na itransfer na lang namin sa UITF Security ang savings...

Ako rin settlement account lang when I invested in the equity fund. Wala akong savings account with them.
