^I agree mga sis... it shouldn't be a standard or necessary but just a courtesy lang. If I tell my boss I can't perform well kasi gutom ako, its my fault and not the company nor my boss. kasalanan lang yun ng boss ko kapag di nya ako pinalabas to eat or not inform me ahead na di pala ako pwedeng lumabas (i should have the initiative to bring my food). Kaya lang naman sila pinapakain is because may food dun at ayaw mo naman ipagdamot yon (yun lang may madamot talagang tao  ).

Well sana lang at least magcomprise yung client at suppliers para happy lahat. meet halfway at walang sobrang demanding na supplier at walang garapal na client.

^ i agree sis. pero kung hindi magprovide ng crew meals si client, i dont think its garapal haha.

dapat kasi sa mga packages nila nilalagay nila with ++ sa dulo, parang hotel.. sa hotel nga lang taxes yun, sa kanila crew meals. haha. para di nakakabigla. atleast bago sila ibook may magtatanong kung ano [textspeak!] ++.

galatea_spheres, how come you had to provide three meals for your stylist's crew? Were they there the whole day? I think mine are leaving once they finish setup, so they won't be around na for dinner.

Sevenstars, i needed to provide 3 meals kasi daw ingress starts really early (midnight nga daw kasi nagpa full drapes ako) and they continue working throughout the day. And since mine was a dinner reception, i needed to provide dinner kasi they have to be there naman to dismantle the set up afterwards i just gave food allowance for their crew

^look at this example, as if hindi sila pwede umalis sa venue to eat. At ano difference kung isama na kaagad sa costing nila yung food expenses ng crew nila than to indicate na dapat may crew meal or food allowance? parang ang dating lang is bahala si client problemahin yung food. just saying mga sis frustrating lang kasi

Grabe ... in my 1st wedding 10 years ago this wasnt the wedding industry standard. Of course I fed the usual suppliers like photo,video, coordinator, HMUA, musicians. But The stylist's crew and lights and sounds, it was their responsibility to take care of themselves. I never saw a contract indicating that I had to feed them either. The suppliers never demanded it, and it my own initiative to feed the ones I know cant leave the venue. The rest I suppose went out and bought their own food. My reception was in Makati Shangrila so there were a lot of places to eat just across the street in Glorietta. But sila na bahala that time!! Buti nalang din because if I remember correctly Makati Shang's crew meal back then was 700 php plus vat and service charge pa of 22%.

Like these proposals I got from stylists really demand food for the crew or a food allowance of a certain amount. Parang duh.... ang dami nila 15 pax and its not like they cant bring food in their vans-- or step out after to eat.

It varies yata depende sa location. but I agree sis, i think pinoy suppliers are spoiled talaga.. I think ganito din sa US kase i have a friend who is photographer in US and their clients feed them.
But in some countries, di naman ganito.. I've attended weddings overseAs and i was a bridesmaid. The couple didn't provide suppliers meal.. There was no coordinator to begin with. Kaming mga entou ang gumagalaw from church to reception guest registration etc. Their other suppliers brought their own food. The only supplier the couple fed was the photographer, because they are pinoy and because they personally know them.

I think OA lang those suppliers lalo na mga stylists crew that demand for crew meals na plated pa ata ang gusto. Because they can leave naman and after the setup, they just wait around to remove the props they brought in, and they can definitely step out to eat somewhere. I asked my friends last night if they fed their stylist's crew in their own weddings--- and I can assure you this wasnt the industry standard as little as 5 years ago hehe

But for the rest, I really want to feed them properly because I understand that they cannot leave the venue to eat and it is my responsibility to take care of them. Yes I can complain about the price of crew meals in my venue...but honestly ganun talaga. I will have to respect the rules of the venue and order plated crew meals from them and I am ready to do that. Wag lang naman sana even the stylist's crew because 15 x P500 (per venue crew meal) isn't a joke! Thats P7500 just for one round of crew meals for the stylist's crew.  Diba?

sis Chili1113, I didnt know that we have to feed the stylists crew lunch AND dinner??? grabe naman!!!! So that means lights and sounds crew too??

we're providing 2 meals (lunch and dinner), and light snacks (sandwich) for our suppliers. Yung sa lunch, sa bahay na lang magluluto for them pero packed pa din. Yung dinner lang yung iaavail namin yung sa caterer. 130-150/head depende sa viand. Okay naman na siguro yung price na yun no? May kasama ng bottled water yan.

It really depends sa Suppliers if they want to be fed. My Sylist/Florist did'nt require us to feed them but we offered only for the florist/stylist not his entire team. Same with the L&S but nag-arrange kami ng packed meals for them and photobooth. After the set up naman kasi ng Stylist's team wala na silang ggawin but to dismantle the set up unlike the photo, video, coordinator and HMUA(if like ng HMUA ko na naka-stand by all the time). I understand if the major suppliers(e.g. P/v) are demanding buffet meals or more. Kasi nung wedding ko grabe talaga ang workload nila.

we provided supplier meal for everyone during prep except sa tao ng Venue and Caterer. tinanong kasi namin sa Coord, hindi naman daw need para don. so we ordered meals from Packed Gourmet (lunch) for:
Coord team
HMUA
P/V
Lights/Sound
Van driver
Family

Tapos, we gave them DIY paper bags containing snacks para may makain sila until the reception in case gutumin and medicines in case sumakit ulo or tummy hehe.

Tapos nung reception, buffet meal for the suppliers mentioned above plus Host and Photobooth. Sinwerte lang din nakuha namin free yung 15pax buffet crew meal from the caterer so we just added around 9 more (500 per pax) to accomodate all suppliers. Sulit na din kasi tuwang tuwa talaga yung ibang crew na buffet din sila.

None of our suppliers required/asked for Buffet Crew meal naman in the contract or during meetings. So far, sa mga nainquire-an ko din na iba dati wala naman nagrequire ng ganun. Mahirap yun kasi mabigat sa bulsa pag andami supplier tapos ganun ang gusto

When we got married, I set a budget for crew meal kasi I want them to have decent food din naman hindi yung fastfood lolz.. what I did we cooked and packed the meal for them .. though matrabaho pero ang key kasi dun is you need people to help you to execute that.. So far it turn out good naman kasi na appreciate nila yung lutong bahay.. Kaya ngaun naging business ko na din sya to help din other couple on their budget for crew meals..

Question, when is the right time to order crew meals? Naalala ko kasi sabi nung isang coord na nakausap ko before (hindi sya yung binook namin), it's best na on the day na bilhin ang crew meals para walang masayang. Kasi nakalagay sa contract nya nun na they can buy the crew meals on the day itself na. Minsan daw kasi nakaorder na ng crew meals (usually 2 full meals to), tapos madaming sobra sa buffet so sa buffet na din pinapakain ang mga suppliers. Kaya nasasayang ang packed food.

Meron na kaming pagoorderan ng packed meals but hindi pa namin mafinalize yung number.

Ano sa tingin nyo? Is it okay to buy the meals on the day na mismo or best pa din if we order it beforehand?

hi sis simang, IMO better to order ahead of time..baka may minimum delivery naman sila... in packed gourmet's case, 25pax ang min. order nila and may delivery charge din. sa bilang ko 20pax lang un suppliers kasama na un OTD coordinators.. pede naman ipakain na lang sa mga drivers and yaya un iba hehe 

kase baka dagdag stress pa un on the spot na pagbili ng crew meals..

^ morning wedding kami so we're kinda obligated to order crew meals in advance for breakfast. kawawa naman coordinators kung bibili pa sila ng food ng madaling araw. pero for the lunch meals, i think pwede dito yung sinasabi mo na on the day na bumili. usually nga daw kasi maraming sobra sa buffet so pwede na dito kumuha ang suppliers.

thanks sis. with that coord na nakausap ko, part ito ng tasks nila. to buy suppliers meal. although with the one i booked, i have to ask them first..

ito din naisip ko, PM wedding kami so lunch kelangan may food na yung mga suppliers who will be there during the preps. still considering this, pero thinking about it, better na siguro sobra yung food kesa kulang hehe
