Dependent sister
« on: September 14, 2014, 09:56:07 am »
hi! my dad and mom both passed away. my mom died last august. we are only 2 sibling and im the youngest. my sister is a single parent. both of us are working naman but my sister was spoiled by my mom. lahat ng financial at house responsibility ako naghandle pati tuition ng anak nya sakenn a. i was in debt. ang hirap biruin niyo sumasakit na ulo ko kaka budget tapos intindihin ko pa grocery, pacheckup kay mom pati medicines nya as in lahat. sister ko uuwi na lang kakain tutulog. kapag sinasabihan ko syang magshare naman isasagot niya kulang pa sa pamasahe sahod niya, pumapagitna na lang mom ko para iwas argument.

now mga sis may pinatayo kaming bahay sa QC at matatapos na. project ko iyon. gusto ko ng lumipat para makabawas sa pamasahe at travel time. ayaw ng kapatid ko sumama kasi ayaw niyang iwan itong bahay its in montalban pero isip ko ako pa rin magbibigay ng needs nila. napapagod na rin ako im not getting any younger im still single. gusto ko ring ma reap rewards ng pinagkitaan ko at gusto kong matuto sa buhay sister ko. natatawa nga ako kasi kung sakali lahat ng gamit dito sa bahay madadala ko sa lilipatan kasi ako ang bumili naman.

what do you think mga sis?

There are no abusers where there are no victims.
Why do you let her get away with her financial irresponsibility and abuse of you?

If she says her salary barely covers her transpo expenses -- tell her maging housekeeper mo na lang sya so you pay her in terms of food and her kid's tuition fee.

Life is hard, slap her with that reality.

your sister will try everything to bully you into submissive so she can get what she wants and inthe end ikaw pa may kasalanan ng lahat. be firm and if i were you limit your contact with her nalang even your pamangkin, remember that is your sisters responsibility not yours. go on with your life.

in my opinion, mas ok kung hiwalay kayo ng house. baka kasi wala kang peace of mind if you live with her? kung hindi ka mag-abot ng tulong tapos you see her na nahihirapan, mag-aalala ka pa rin, kasi diba yung iba hindi matiis ang relatives. or may masasabi siya o magpaparinig and you won't like it, mauwi sa away lalu na wala na mom ninyo to referee.

kausapin mo lang ng masinsinan ng walang halong pagalit/inis, tingin ko pikon ka na sa kanya e...baka you have to forgive her for all her mistakes. kung magbibigay ka pa rin ng tulong, why not groceries or check paid to the school ng pamangkin mo instead na money. magdecide ka lang how much kaya mo monthly. lalu na in case of emergency, dapat rin decided ka na if ever magkano lang ang extra na kaya mo. kahit humingi pa siya ng more than dapat NO na.

kung kaya mo ipa-intindi sa kanya na hindi niya ma-misinterpret as nagdadamot ka, then tell her na gusto mo rin naman makapag-ipon at hindi mo naman siya talaga obligasyon. to help is ok, pero for her to be dependent on you e hindi maganda yun. or write her a letter maybe kung emotional ka magsalita kasi medyo nava-vibes ko naiinis ka sa kanya.

Hmm... I guess sis halos parehas tayo ng situation. My parents are still alive. My sister is single parent and unfortunately, dalawa na anak nya. And yes, tulad mo, bunso din ako and dalawa lang kami magkapatid.

In my case, I'm now a bread winner of the family when dad decided na magretire after years of working abroad. She, on the other hand, didn't shoulder any thing. I somehow helped her for her baby, nung wala pa ako work, ako nag-alaga sa baby nya. When I have work na, ako na bumili ng ibang minor needs like bumibili ng mga toys, panggala ng baby nya, i-treat sa ganito sa ganyan. However, hindi ko talaga shinoulder ang iba pa like gatas. Like you, I also advises her to did this and that for her career, pero marami sya dahilan. Kesyo she doesn't have time to do that. She doesn't have time to do this. Ok fine, enough of talk. As time passes by, dumating si baby #2, ako pa din sumasalo all of the expenses ng house. But this time, natuto na ako. I always complain a lot to my mom. Hindi ako masalita, more on gawa ako. But this time, I complain na to my mom directly. Me, I do not accept it... I already did that before and ayaw ko na. I also have my own life and I want to enjoy it too. She chose the path she wants, I will now choose mine this time. My mom suffers a lot dahil mag-isa lang sya that time. At natakot din ako for mom. Marami na ako sacrifices for the family since nung bata pa ako which she didn't noticed. When baby #2 is here, I promised to myself I will start to limit all things. I am still 100% shouldering the expense of the house, which is fine pero may limit na din. For me it is my responsibility now and I accept na ako na talaga magshoulder nito. But aalis na ako sa house after getting married to my fiance. Staying here in our house is not good to me anymore. No life balance, puro problema and negativity and all.

For me, tama po yung gagawin mo na bumukod. Mas magandang bukod kayo. Kasi mag-aaway at mag-aaway kayo. Iwasan na lang for the sake of family ties. I will also do the same soon.

I don't think maiintindihan ng sister mo kahit anong explain mo pa. Best to leave the house, tell her (not talk to her) na kelangan mo na bumukod kasi nahihirapan mag magcommute sa current place nyo. Period.

Then huwag mo na sya kibuin or something.
Kasi if ever manghingi sya next time, puede mo sa kanya sabihin na nagbabayad ka rin ng kuryente and bills sa kabilang bahay at wala ka nang budget to pay for the utilities of the 2nd house.

when my father died, my dads pension was transferred to my mom at ako ang humawak. hindi naman siya nanghihingi sa akin, doon siya kay mom at alam niyang bibigyan siya. ang style niya hindi siya nag iintindi sa mga utilities at grocery, tipong bahala kayo kung walang laman ang ref dahil alam niyang no choice ako dahil walang kakainin mom ko. sa ngayon since mom died shoulder ko pa rin grocery pero wait ko lang matapos ang bahay. kasi sa mga magulang dapat pinalaki ang mga bata mabuhay sa sariling paa.

^ sa labas ka nalang kumain. or kung gusto mo mamalengke, bili ka nalang ng food na good for 2 days na lulutuin mo. yung mga dry goods like canned and noodles, puede mo naman itago sa room mo.  ;D

well, naisip ko mas mabuti nang "ma-train" sya na walang gagawa nyan sa kanya in the near future. kaya habang andyan ka pa, at least you can assist her in case na mahirapan sya. kung baga, magtry ka na magdry run na parang wala ka dyan, and see how she can cope.

That's correct. Mas magandang matuto sya at independent.

Dami modus ngayon. KIlatisin mabuti.

Right now, hinahayaan ko lang sister ko. I also limit pagbibigay ng money dito sa house. Dati kasi I do not love myself and always help others. Ngayon, I learned my lesson, I love myself na and my fiance. We also have our own life. They should learn and how to stand in their feet.
