Hello, good day mommies. I have a One Touch Ultra Blood Glucose Meter that I bought year 2012 when I was pregnant, was able to use it for 2yrs to monitor my blood glucose. Now I need to monitor my sugar again,  so I was trying to find the lancet and test strips but to no avail. I've been to 6 different drugstores already (Mercury, Southdrug, Watsons, Generics, Rose, Botika ng Bayan) but they told me that the test strips and lancet for Onetouch Ultra has been discontinued and has a new product that is not compatible to my kit. Is that true? For those mommies that still uses their Onetouch Ultra, Please help me where can I buy, I really need it, I'm hoping there's still available test strips and lancets for Onetouch Ultra. Buying a new glucose meter is not an option to me because my kit is still in very good working condition.

recently had HbA1c. bumaba na sya! though slight lang. hehe. Before kasi ang results ko (at 8w) 5.8. Prediabetes is 5.7-6.5.  Now its 5.6 (at 24w).  Pumasok na sa normal kahit papano. Ü

after one month, pina HbA1c ulit ako ni endo. and bumaba pa sya ulit to 5.4.  sabi nya at this point, less risky na talaga ang GDM. pero continuous ang monitoring ng blood sugar ko.  Next visit ko ay end Nov, mag papa HbA1c ulit ako. I'm due second week of Dec.

Mga sis bakit ganun sabi ng ob ko sobrang taas ng sugar ko eto yung result ng ogtt ko 75g Glucose

Fasting is 5.53

1st hr: 8.28 mmol/l
2nd hr: 6.82 mmol/l


Bakit sa et yung normal range parang nasa normal ako Gestational daw ako at kailangan i insulin pero I doubt buti nag recommend sya ng diet modification tapos ulit ako ogtt mext month.
Parang gusto ko mag pa scond opinion sa ibang hoapital o diagnostic pwede ba ako umulit ogtt kahit 1 week pa lang nakakalipas nung una kong ogtt? anyway 19 weeks na ako.

^ sis in terms of mg/dL kasi your readings will approximately be:

FBS:  100mg/dL
1st hr:  150mg/dL
2nd hr:  123mg/dL

vs usually set maximum na

FBS:  95mg/dL
1st hr:  140mg/dL
2nd hr:  120mg/dL

try to work out on your diet, baka kayanin (no juice/soda, no fastfood/instant noodles, choose the fruits you eat and watch the portions). or check with a nutritionist.

wala naman siguro magiging problema kung magpa OGTT ka ulit sa iba for a second opinion. pero ganyan din ako noon, ayoko maniwala. hehe. been on insulin since week 11. im on my 31st week now.

^sis, paano mo na convert yan? Sabi pa ng endocrinologist mahihirapan daw ako manganak ang fasting ko kasi kumakin ako ng 12:45 kasi nga 1 o'clock tapos nag start ako glucose test 9:05 so pasok naman ako halos sa 8 hours fasting.

May mga conversion sa net, google mo lang. Risky din kasi sis kung mataas ang sugar natin. You can read a lot about GDM online.
Nung ako in denial ako nung una. I think i've posted it here in the earlier pages na ayoko din mag insulin kase feeling ko ok naman ako. Gusto ko pa ng 2nd opinion. But after my doc explained things and reading extensively about it, i did what was told by my doc. Nothing to worry kung mag insulin. Ang importante safety ni baby ü

monthly ang HBA1C mo? based on my experience, every 3 months lang checking nito.

^ yes sis, my endo requires that i do this every month now that im on my last tri.  i guess para ma-verify kung tama din ang daily monitoring ko (at di ko dinadaya! lol). kasi di ba HbA1c is a measure of your blood sugar for the past 3mos, so kung sa daily readings ko mababa tapos in a month's time tumaas ang HbA1c ko, eh alam na na may mali sa daily readings ko.  well that's how i see it.

^^ganoon ba sis, .baka ganyan approach ng Endo mo kasi buntis ka..ginawa ko rin yan monthly A1C test (sariling decision), natawa lang endo ko at sayang daw ginastos ko...kasi ang glucose molecules ay nananatili sa hemoglobin sa loob ng 2 to 3 months. hope your blood glucose is well controlled

^so far so good sis, thanks!  i'm on my 36w now. bukas magkikita kami ni endo, sana hindi magkaron ng problem when i give birth na feeling ko anytime soon

Sis skela,malapit ka naaaa..di nako active sa thread na to super busy kasi ke baby. Finally gave birth last August. We're very thankful kasi kahit sensitive ang pregnancy ko healthy and okay naman si baby. Kaya mga sis, tiis lang muna super worth it ang controlled diet, tusok ng glucometer at insulin shots pag nakita nyo na si baby na healthy and thriving.  Nakakaiyak lang. Thanks sa mga naghelp at advice sakin nun preggy pa. Hope everything's okay with all you sisses and sa mga manganganak enjoy nyo na ang mahabang tulog bwahaha. Take care all and safe pregnancy and delivery to GDM mommies.

Hi mga sis, I just gave birth last March 2015 and was diagnosed with GDM. Now I suspect that I'm pregnant again. I had a private OB on my first pregnancy but for this one, I plan to be in a maternity package deal na..questions are:

Do you think tatanggapin ako sa package deal considering i had GDM before? kasi diba malaki chance na I'll still have GDM in this second pregnancy?

I want to be practical and save on costs kasi malaki savings din talaga if package..Will I still be in "good hands" sa package deal considering I won't have an OB na tutotok sa akin?

Need your advice mga sis, TIA

Sis hunn,baka malabo na pwde ka package..try mo nalang din mag inquire. For me,private OB pa din kasi mahirap na. Siguro save on other costs na lang..

^^ Sis since you had GDM in your previous pregnancy, malaki possibility na mag GDM ka din sa pagbu buntis mo ngayon. Most of maternity packages alam ko applicable lang sa mga walang complications.  But clarify mo din to be sure.

Hello mommies! Finally gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Dec 07 via CS.  Happy that my blood sugar was under control all through out and baby's not affected with my GDM journey which started at week 13.

Hi mommies.  Nakapag parepeat OGTT na ba kayo? Was supposed to take this 6 weeks pp pero 5 mos na di ko pa din maasikaso. EBF kasi kami at wala yaya kaya di ko naman maiwan baby.  May nakapagtry na ba dalhin si baby nung nagtake ng OGTT? Me fasting din to kaya mahirap baka konti milk dahil dehydrated.

So far, wala pa akong nae-encounter na brownish discharge during my pregnancy. Ipa-check up mo kaya sa OB mo para sigurado.
