^Yeah yun nga naiisip ko. Medyo OC pa ako when it comes to these things. Gusto ko nandyan na yung pick up kaysa nag-iisip pa ako. Might end up not sleeping

Na try na namin ang Uber sa T3 last February. We arrived ng mga 12:30am after namin makuha yung baggage tsaka lang ako nag try mag book kase naka roaming pa phone ko. Luckily or shall I say himala at may nasagap akong free WIFI sa T3. Mabilis lang pag click ko pa lang nag respond na kagad na may padating na & received at text of the car, driver etc... In 5 mins dumating na siya.
Prior to our departure nag check na ako once in awhile if may mga uber ng ganung oras and lagi namang meron. Marami na rin kase siguro talagang nag uber from the airport kaya madalas maraming nasa vicinity na yun.
Ang Uber fare ko is Php250 lang NAIA T3 to Q.C. Eh nung time na yun may Uber credits pa ako na Php200 so na bill sa akin is Php50.00 lang. Sa tuwa ng husband ko sabi niya bigyan ko raw ng Php100 na tip yun driver.
Sa next biyahe naman we plan to use Uber again. Ang problema lang namin is konti ang uber sa amin so medyo mahirap ang going to the airport. Sa pauwi lang mas madali.

They still call their SUV fleet "Black Cars" though not necessarily black na sya. Before, puro literal na black car, but now hindi na. Minsan nakasakay kami ng white Fortuner, dark blue Montero, etc. hehe..

One thing you can try with Uber is to just open/close the app multiple times about an hour to 30 minutes before you want to be picked up. Or just hit request, kahit na nakalagay na "no cars available".

They (Uber, not the drivers) have a "god view" of the whole city and they can see when someone opens the app. If it's a slow day, and there are idle drivers that are "close enough" they can advise the driver that there are passengers in your area. But it's up to the driver if he wants to go to your area.

If you live in an out of the way place or if booking during extreme peak hour, Grab Taxi is your best bet. Taasan mo lang ng taasan ang "tip" mo until may kumagat, hehe. But it is an absolute life-saver, lalo na sa areas na under-served ng Uber.

Between Uber and Grabtaxi, I really have no need for a car in Metro Manila. Ever since December 2013, hindi na ako pumila sa taxi line kahit saan - sa mall or sa airport, even during peak times, and peak season - e.g. December etc..

i have just recently tried Uber when i attended a formal event in a hotel in Makati, ang bilis makakuha ng unit before and after the event! in fairness, pakalat-kalat lang ang units sa Makati. hehe.

kaso minsan di masyadong efficient ang GPS nila when mapping your route to your destination. ako pa nagsabi sa driver, ay wag mo sundin yan, dito ka dumaan, hehe.

pero overall, satisfied ako. medyo pricey lang so bihira ko rin gagamitin ang Uber, selected occasions lang.

EasyTaxi ako suki, kaso ewan ko ba... these past few days di ako makakuha ng unit, which is weird kasi every single day at the same hour eh nakakakuha naman ako. pero in the past 3-4 days hindi... bigla tuloy ako napa-Uber papunta sa office.

yung GrabTaxi kasi failed me before kaya na-turnoff na ko. kaso sige bigyan ko nga ng 2nd chance since pumapalpak si EasyTaxi recently...

easy taxi, uber and grab - kelangan ba may credit card talaga? and about sa payment sa fare, auto-charged na lang ba sa card yun? o need pang i-swipe yung card sa car nila?

^for Uber, yes you really need a credit card.  Yes automatic charge sa credit card when they end the trip (when you reached your destination).  Even toll fees automatic deduction sa credit card.  The application can detect if dumaan kayo ng toll so automatic na siya.  Driver na yung nagbabayad mismo (in cash) sa toll gate but sometimes walang cash yung driver so ako (as passenger) na lang yung nagbabayad in cash then I get the toll receipt and send it to uber via email para ma-refund ko yung toll fee sa credit card.

sa experience naman namin ni hubby (since we go out at odd hours) basta walang surge, very reasonable ang price, pareho lang ng taxi rates minsan mas mura pa.

Between grabcar and uber madalas mas marami available unit from grabcar here in QC area. Sobra dalang ng uber.

I like sana grabcar kaya lang napansin ko namimili na ng pasahero yung mga drivers.

A friend was going to commute sana from our place in QC going to Caloocan. Eh she has so much stuff I suggested to hire a cab instead. She refused kasi sisingilin daw siya ng driver ng 400-500 ganun daw usual rate sa kanila. Then I remember grabcar. I checked the rate and it was just around 250. Nung pinakita ko sa kanya pumayag naman si friend. Eh ang kaso dami nga available unit pero nobody wants to confirm my booking. Sigh. Kawawa my friend talaga napa commute.

Then just recently, I needed to book going to Sm north. Malapit lang naman and still nobody wants to confirm my booking kahit ang dami dami nila! Then nakita ko may bago pala sa app ng grabcar to add tip para more chances to get a booking? Wag na lang.

So I tried uber. I registered but needed ng Cc. I don't have a credit card but I do have a debit card. Yun ginamit ko. Then Nung mag try na ako mag book nag error incorrect daw card number ko! I double checked the numbers, tama naman. Then I check my balance sa debit card ko and I was charged ng 10 Pesos. I tried to email uber about this but it has been weeks and no reply :-(

GrabTaxi palang na try ko ang nakakainis lang naka encounter ako nun sunday na nilagpasan ako at nagsakay ng iba.. to think na i was calling the driver 5x he didnt bother to take my call or reply to my messages... 1min away lang sya from where I am.. anyway hinabol ko pa sya mga halos dalawang kanto din .. iniisip ko baka may sumakay lang akala nya ako.. then he picked up my call and sabi: mam cancel na po. may sinakay na po ako. sabay baba ng phone...

so again nag grabtaxi ako ulit and this time naman nakauwi na ako hehe.. sa ilang GrabTaxi ko ngaun lang ako naka experience ng nag cancel booking daw at nilagpasan ako.. hahaha

Wala pa naman na nag cancel sa akin sa grab taxi pero palaging muntikan nang hindi ako makasakay pag nasa mall kailangan ko pang habulin para malaman nila na ako yung tumawag.

@jelly_ace - debit card doesn't work on uber, i tried using my eprepaid but I can't register it. so just used CC instead.

Grab Taxi cancelled a booking without a tip after 5 minutes, so booked uli ako with a tip. Biglang tinanggap. Lumabas pa driver from his cab para sunduin kami.

to those who use Uber, for regular trips like 20-30mins only, how much tip do you give to the driver? i know it's not required, but i just want to know what the NORM is... somehow i feel a "personal obligation" to do so and i give P40, pero minsan rin lang kasi ako mag-Uber.

^never pa ko nag-tip sa Uber but if magti-tip ako, maybe P20 lang.

P20 lang din ako mag-tip sa regular taxi if I feel like giving one. P40 is steep na for me but possible naman if na traffic kami sobra then wala akong narinig na reklamo from the driver at hindi namili and naga-ask for additional charge. 

If GrabTaxi naman, hindi talaga ako nagti-tip, ang bigat na nung P70 on top of your meter kasi.

I used to give tips sa Uber, either 50 or 100, depends sa travel duration and traffic conditions. But lately di na ako nagbibigay.

Exception is pag madaling araw and if going to or from the airport at madaming bagahe.

^ and ^^, thanks! so kung norm naman na hindi magbigay ng tip sa Uber, then pwede pala wag na ko magbigay. kaya ko lang inaalam ang norm kasi i don't want to be given a low rating by the driver kasi baka mahirapan ako mag-book in the future. hahaha! kasi di ba they can also rate the passenger?
