Masaklap yung two of the most important Godparents hindi pa makakadalo kasi nasa ibang bansa gusto ko nga pauwiin next year para siya mismo ang naandun rather than proxy lang. Ayoko talaga sa binyag na maging pilitan. Di bale na yung bday party.

sorry if i missed out on anything, but the solution here would be you talking it all out to your mom, explain the situation na manganganak ka pa and iyon sana ang gusto mong unahin at para matulungan ka nya. Mahirap kasi sis na kumilos kayo mag-asawa on your own like your hands are tied at this point kung ang mom mo nagvolunteer pabinyagan panganay mo moreso sumagot ng binyag dahil sya sumagot sa kasal nun at sa future panganganak mo soon,

mommy mo yan kaya i believe she just wants the best for you... ganun talaga ang magulang natin, kausapin mo lang im sure you would meet halfway.

^Hindi siya sumagot sa kasal namin, we still did it on our own saka we never ask anything during that time since Civil wedding yun. Bonus part lang naman na nagbigay siya ng cash as gift to us, but of course we still put that as part of our savings. Kapag event na ang usapan like kung mag Catholic wedding, una it is our call kung kailan namin gagawin, pangalawa we still want to plan and do that on our own without asking help from others lalo na in terms of finances.

I understand the point about the kid na dapat binyagan agad pero ayoko naman kasing maging sobrang dragging. Ayoko naman na for the sake of mabinyagan lang. Again both of us ni hubby are particular in guests list.

We give much importance kasi siempre sila nga yung pangalawang magulang na pipiliin namin.

I personally feel that parents should have the right to decide what they want to do. Not grandparents, not the priest nor anyone else. And we need not judge them based on that decision.

It all depends on your beliefs din, there are plenty of Catholics who do not feel the urgency to do the baptism in the first few weeks/months and it does not make them any less who they are. Usually it's just the grandparents or other elders in the family (and of course church community) who have this traditional paniniwala and who place judgement on them because it's not what they're used to or prefer.

Practicality is a big deal for parents who know they want to make the 1st birthday celebration for their baby a bigger and memorable one, instead of spending for two separate occasions. It's not a sin to want to do one big celebration. All parents want the best they can afford for their child. We should respect every parent's decision regardless of whatever people around them think.

^Agree with you Sis. Though my previous 3 children used to have their baptism earlier than their birthday, I didn't really feel the urgency to do so. The rule "your child, your rule" still applies. It wouldn't make you less Catholic or less Christian. BTW, Baptism at an early age used to be a Catholic tradition. Other religions or sect, like example, Born Again Christians, prefer to baptize an adult one who really would understand the purpose of being Baptized. They only dedicate their young children. Iba-iba naman tayo ng paniniwala.
