Hi ladies! This is my first post here and I'm really sorry if I may seem too dramatic. I just want to get your point of view sa dilemma i'm dealing with right now. All my friends think we're (my bf and i) weird, immature, mean and all the other rude adjectives but please take time to read my story.

My (ex) BF and I have been together for almost 7 years. We became a couple back when we were in college. Baby pa kami pareho nun. I'm 26 now and I'm a 3rd year law student. He currently works for one of the top companies here sa Pinas. Ang bottomline ng kwento ko goes like this... Hindi kami nagsawa sa isat-isa but it just happened na naging comfortable kami sa relationship namin. We broke up pero we're still very much open about getting back together. Sa ngayon we're "dating" others. I know it's bad kasi ang dating is we're playing with other people's feelings. I didn't really like the idea so i stopped. I wanted him back but he told me frankly that he's still enjoying what he's doing right now. Ang reason niya is gusto niya magpakaga** while he's "single". Because when he comes back to me, he wants to be the best version of himself. Like my reason, bata pa din kasi siya nun naging kami. Ngayon niya lang nagagawa yung mga bagay na ganito kasi technically, he's off the hook. Pero I admit I'm hurt sa mga ginagawa niyang gestures sa ibang babae. Madami siyang dinadate but there's just one girl na "mainstream". She kinda believes that they're in a relationship. Of course I freaked out at first and i was very angry but napagkasunduan kasi namin to e. He explained to me he picked someone not pretty, not smart and someone na madaming bisyo para maging assured pa din ako sa relationship namin. Hindi ako naninira but the girl isn't really the type a guy wants to be serious with. Part of me nagsisisi for agreeing with him pero ayoko siya sakalin or anything. I know I'm desperate or crazy but I have every bit of his assurance kasi. Bago ko siya maging BF, best friends kami ng ilang taon and he still is up to this very day. Kilalang-kilala ko siya. Even if he's playing around, it's still me he only kisses on the lips. And what others do as a couple, sa amin lang yun. I know he's telling the truth dahil hindi naman siya ganung klaseng lalaki. He really avoids taking the girl to places where he could be put in a situation na wala siyang lalabasan. (Ex: movie house, dinner dates, inuman, and places similar to those) for my birthday he bought me something that just cost him an arm and a leg. Also, it's still me he takes to their family dinners and as a matter of fact both our sides of the family don't have an idea that we "broke-up". Because once they find this out, especially sa side ko, masisira talaga BF ko right? There's no way they would approve of him again. Hindi din ako nagbubuhat ng banko but his family loves me so much too. Most of our common friends know what is really going on sa amin and all they can say is my BF is such an as* for playing around and I'm crazy to even allow him to do those. I know immature kami pareho. Pero I'd like to believe na as long as alam namin pareho where we really stand, wala akong dapat ikabahala. I'm really hurt. And I know the girl thinks he's genuinely in love with her. I'm aware about the gestures he's been showing her. And totoo namang nakakainlove yun mga ginagawa niya. Also the girl keeps asking his friends (some of them are even my friends) kung wala na ba talaga kami. I've been told she's insecure daw sakin maybe part of it is because I'm a future lawyer and wala akong bisyo. Basically everything she's not daw. Nagtataka nadin siya bakit hindi pa siya pinapakilala sa parents ng BF ko, bakit sa FB hindi padin daw siya nagbubura ng pics namin and bakit hanggang sa IG lang daw merong pics "nila". (my bf has 50 followers lang. he doesnt follow his and my family and 80% dun alam yun totoong nangyayari) Naaawa ako sa totoo lang. Pero ang paulit ulit na sinasabi sakin ng BF ko, everything he's doing now will eventually have a benefit sa amin when we finally get back together. Can any of you ladies tell me ano kayang mga benefit yun? Dahil gulong-gulo talaga ako. We plan to get married when we're 30. And of course I don't know the details but he wishes to propose when we're 27 or 28. That's a year or 2 from now. Of course i don't want him to play around for that long. Pero i don't really know. :-( he wants to do all the kagag**han right now because as soon as we're engaged na daw, it's gonna be a different level. super serious na daw. I think he's selfish, he's coward but I love him so much. Any advice? Thank you so much for the time and sorry kung masyado mahaba ito.

I forgot to mention, he likes doing this daw dahil sa "excitement". Lahat ng flirting, sweet talking and yun effort ng mga babae sa kanya. Ineenjoy niya.

1-2 years.. madaming pwedeng mangyari. handa ka ba tanggapin kung ano man yon?

Hmmm right now masakit man sabihin or hindi parang option ka lang. Give. He said kayo in the end but youre not in a committed relationship and he is dating this girl. How sure are you na ikaw nga lang ang kinikiss. Seryoso? Naniniwala ka? I doubt. Kung kasi walang nangyayari bakit di nya maiwan. And ang masakit kasi sis lumalabas " he got bored" kaya ayaw muna nya bumalik sayo. Remember once na inallow mo ang guy to do that it also means it is alright to treat you like an option. You are giving him an idea kasi na it is alright to be treated like that in the future. Now na natikman nya ang "freedom" na yan, how can you be so sure na pag kayo na di nya ulit gagawin yan. Mas worst na yun kasi sabi mo nga ikakasal kayo, meaning no way out ka na.

It seems you have a very bright future, why settle being the other woman or past time lang. You dont deserve that. Regardless you said its okay, if he does respect you he would also know na masasaktan ka sakali malaman mo na he is dating other girls. Di ka naman made of stone or robot ka na walang feelings. If you think pinaglalaruan nyo ang feelings ng iba when you are planning to go back to each other, eh ano ba tawag sa ginagawa nya sayo ngayon? Di ba pinaglalaruan rin?

Di kaya di lang sya makalet go totally kasi nga malaki expectations ng families nyo na kayo rin in the end. Remember kahit naman sa married couple dumadating na parang nawawala yung spark but it doesnt mean we can go out and date. Kung ganun kayo, have you ever asked yourself and also him what went wrong? Bakit nawala ang kilig, ang spark? There are underlying reasons for sure. Have you ever considering of doing something new with him? Baka yun lang kasi ang kulang nyo. Nakakabored naman kasi kung palaging ganun ang routine nyo di ba? Dapat you need to do something new.

But for now, think about what i said. If he respects you and really love you, he wont continue dating other girls but rather will try to rekindle that old flame between you. Ask yourself, do you really want this to continue? Do you think if you allow him to continue do you also respect yourself?

Whatever your decision, just pray and ask for guidance. Love yourself more than anybody else. If you know how to love yourself, thats the time you can say you know how to love others.

Nagdecision kayo maghiwalay and to date other people, though you stopped, you agreed na pwede pa din sya makipag date. It was a mutual decision. No one told you to stop dating other people. It was your choice, and what he's doing now is also his choice. Since you both agreed, just suck it up. Ikaw lang naman ang makakaalam kung pano ka makakalabas sa ganyang situation -- either you sit in the corner wait for him na magsawa sa pagiging bachelor, or move on with your life and start anew. Who knows, baka totoo nga naman ang sinasabi nya, na magpopropose sya in 2 years, and you'll get married eventually. You'll never know. Ang alam mo lang ngayon is you're miserable sa set up nyo ngayon. Ikaw lang makakapagdecide whether to stay in that miserable state, or at least do something to not lose your self worth.

Here's the thing: a man who truly respects and loves you, loves you. No questions asked. No dating-other-girls-then-i'll-love-you-super-in-a-year. No fuss. He just loves you and the last thing he'll do is keep you hanging and hurt like that.

^hi sis. Im a guy.  I want to share my input with you.  I have a guy friend who is such a sweet talker who can play around with girls and give his assurance to any other girl and keep all of them intact.  If you know what I mean.  The guy friend I have is a player.  I hope this is not the same situation as yours.  With your story, something is not right, nor it being ethical or morally correct whichever way the story turns out.  For instance this girl he's seeing right now, you very well know that it will rip her apart when she finds out the real score.  I will give you a couple of scenarios: 1) the guy kept his word and marries you in the end but the girl he's seeing right now committed a suicide later on because her emotions are played by your man.  Would you be proud marrying such man? Would guilt not creep in?

Scenario 2:  What if for some reason, he got drunk and his libido pumped up with the girl or any random girl and he got her pregnant?

The guy is threading on dangerous waters and you standing by him or tolerating him makes you an accomplice to playing with people's emotions.  Just my 2 cents.

Sis, when is dating bad?  It is only bad when you lie to your date na wala kang BF pero may BF ka.  The fact that you date men, that means you are "free".  Sa kwento mo, are you not free?  so what's wrong in dating.

It seems that you just don't like dating. Why?  Any single men/women just undergo this, don't you think so?

I wanted him back but he told me frankly that he's still enjoying what he's doing right now. Ang reason niya is gusto niya magpakaga** while he's "single".

Of course this hurts especially if you love him more than he loves you. But this is for the best of both of you. Would you rather he date other women without you knowing it?  Iba na ang klaro.  Hindi kayo committed sa isa't isa and he prefers it that way.

As the girl, you just have to accept that, huwag pagpilitan ang sarili.  Yes, it hurts. But at least it is the truth.

Because when he comes back to me, he wants to be the best version of himself.

Fair enough. That is, if he ever goes back to you.

No guy in his right mind would break off the relationships with his GF only to end up with someone who he is not interested with. That's BS. So anong pinagkasunduan nyo?

Tsaka if a guy wants to pursue a girl, he would. If he is sawa na or uninterested, it would show as well.

If you ask for my opinion, I think it is best that you guys are not together, not BF/GF.  You just have to move on girl. Bata ka pa.  You can still meet other better guys than your BF. I met my first BF when I was in high school. Mas bata pa ngako sayo nung nag BF ako.  Then we got married at the age of 26. The marriage did not work out.  In hind sight, inisip ko nga, sana nag break nalang kami for me to realize what I have been missing.  Sana na experience ko din makipagdate with other men, dat lang and mingle, not sleep around. I did not know what men was like, their wants, what they are capable of, etc.  Until suddenly, my BF na naging hubby nagloko nung mag asawa na kami. By then, it was too late. We were already married and with kids.

Anyway, my point is, bata ka pa.  You should "mingle". If you end up together, you end up together. If not, make sure you find someone greater - who will love you and cherish you.  Life is beautiful. Don't tell me you want a life (another 50 years or so) miserable like that?

I know immature kami pareho. Pero I'd like to believe na as long as alam namin pareho where we really stand, wala akong dapat ikabahala.

Sorry sis. Are you sure you are a law student?  I can see your statements contradicting.

"So long as you know where you guys stand...."  You know your stand. You love him. And only him you want. Wala kang ibang gusto.  Stand nya, gusto nya mag liwaliw.  Pero gusto ka rin nya minsan.
Get the picture?

So hindi ba dapat ka mabahala sa ganyang situation?  He is happy where he is right now. emprenteng nakikipagdate sa iba.  Ikaw miserable.  Hindi ba dapat mabahala ka and start taking charge of your life?

Naaawa ako sa totoo lang. Pero ang paulit ulit na sinasabi sakin ng BF ko, everything he's doing now will eventually have a benefit sa amin when we finally get back together. Can any of you ladies tell me ano kayang mga benefit yun? Dahil gulong-gulo talaga ako.

Naawa ka sa girl. Pero hindi ka naaawa sa sarili mo?  Actually pareho kayong kawawa.

Walang benefit sa pinagagagawa nya ngayon. The benefit is all his. Kasi it makes him date around, know what he really wants in life, adds more choices for him - better choices at that.  Kung wala syang mahanap better than you, maybe he can "settle" for you.

We plan to get married when we're 30. And of course I don't know the details but he wishes to propose when we're 27 or 28. That's a year or 2 from now. Of course i don't want him to play around for that long. Pero i don't really know. :-(

You cannot force the guy to propose to you. It has to come from him. Just let it go.

he wants to do all the kagag**han right now because as soon as we're engaged na daw, it's gonna be a different level. super serious na daw. I think he's selfish, he's coward but I love him so much. Any advice? Thank you so much for the time and sorry kung masyado mahaba ito.

Sis, if you are not committed, you can do anything you want.  Ganun din sa kanya. Patas naman ang playing field. It is up to you kung maniniwala ka sa pinagsasabi nyang 30yo na magpapakasal kayo o hindi.

I suggest you continue your studies, try your best to develop yourself, your skills. Instead of spending time on this. Date around/mingle. Hindi naman ibig sabihin nakipagdate ka, magBF na kayo. You can be friends.  And see kung may chemistry. Sabi mo nga immature pa kayo. I agree. Grow up sis!  And one way to do that is to mingle around.  Understand what you really want in life.  Understand anong klaseng lalaki ang gusto mo pakasalan. Your checklist - dapat romantic, dapat ganito ganyan.  And you can only formulate this if you mingle around.

Sis, magbasa basa ka rin dito sa GT. You will learn how to move on and have a BETTER LIFE.  Taasan mo naman ang standards mo, don't just settle for a guy like that. Hindi measure ng isang guy ang pagkakaron ng magandang work sa kahit anong MNC pa iyan.  Ang totoong guy ay yung marunong magmahal at pinapahalagahan ka, at may integrity.

Sis, alam mo naman pala masasaktan ka bakit pumayag ka with that kind of set up? I understand na both of you started really young, pero is that enough reason? What I see is, while he fools around with other girls, he wanted you to be just right there, as always. Reserved. Kung sawa na siya sa fling niya ngayon, sayo siya tatakbo, kung may problema, ikaw ang gusto niya kausapin, confident siya, na kahit anong gawin niya sayo, kahit mambabae pa siya, he knows deep in his heart na youre there, you will always love him, and kahit ilang beses ka niyang iwanan makakabalik siya sayo kasi part of him thinks your weak, that you cant live without him.

Ikaw nga sis eh hindi mo kinaya makipag date sa iba kasi nasasaktan sila diba, I bet youd rather be alone than to date someone. Pero this Ex of yours, naisip niya kaya yun? why would he spend a lot of his time sa girl na to kung wala siyang intentions?  and how do you really know na everything that he do with this girl is super duper true? ( unless you hired an investigator) di ka naman nila kasama sis eh be true to yourself, guys will always tell us what we wanted to hear. Wag ka maawa sa girl. Wag ka ding martyr.

Kung ako sayo sis, give him a lesson. Im also in a long term relationship, same as yours. I dont approve of this set up, Usap kayo ulit, tell him the truth na nasasaktan ka and kung gusto niya pa din yung ganun na magliwaliw kasi nga HE NEVER EXPERIENCED IT.. just end it na. kasi you deserve better, and focus ka sa law school muna. If this guy really wants you and loves you and promised to marry you, why would he even hurt you?? Naisip mo siguro na 7 years.. antagal niyo. Doesnt matter sis, plainly figures.  8)

You surely DO NOT deserve a guy whose been with you for 7 long years and still wanted to date other-not-so- pretty girl.  ;D

I agree with you, he's a coward. Sarap ng buhay niya ha! He gets excitement from "others", while all along, at the end of the day, may "uuwian" siyang tulad mo waiting for him na walang issues/conflicts na pwede niya iharap sa pamilya niya. How convenient for him!

The reason he does that to you is because you allowed him to. Wag ganon, sis! Future lawyer ka pa naman, ikaw dapat nambobola, hindi ang nabobola. :D I just kid, but there's some truth to it, even a bit, right?

Ask ko lang, what is it about him ba at hindi mo mahiwalayan? Ano bang meron siya na hindi mo makikita sa iba? And in terms of relationships, what are your non-negotiables? Kasi, I have this feeling na hugas-kamay siya everytime he wants to eff around. LIke "oopps, I want to eff this girl, teka I'll tell sandyraelopez muna para abswelto na". Kasi nga naman, you don't do that sa SO mo. Pero since he made "paalam" na sayo, he "lets you know where you stand", eh may free hall pass na siya.
Don't base everything that you need to decide on kasi you guys have been bestfriends forever. Remember, the only permanent thing in this world is change. Kahit pa he vowed on his neighbor's grave na magpo-propose siya sayo, it is not etched in stone. Sa horror flick lang na Paranormal Activity uso ang engaged to be engaged.

You also mentioned na you guys are still bestfriends, then "man up" and be a friend. Nakakasakit siya ng feelings, hindi lang sayo pati na din ng ibang tao. Hindi ka naman siguro masamang kaibigan para kunsintihin ang "kagag*han" ng isang kaibigan, diba? Say something. You're right, that's playing with people's feelings and dreams. You wouldn't want to be in the position of any of the girls that he messes up with, right?

Face The Truth.
This exBF is keeping you as "insurance" while he effs around.
Darling, sino bang 27yo healthy guy would go around dating &  guarantee na flirting lang objective nya.
Magising ka.
You say you know him (and trust him).  Yeah, sure, but your praying/believing so isn't gonna make him eff/cheat-proof.
Ganito yon eh -- to quote what a bitter BFF told me recently:  "eh, hindi ko hawak t-t- nya, so he cheats when he chooses to."

Even if the entire MMla is in on your mutual joke that everybody he goes out with is just a fling & you are the real thing --   That is still no guarantee he will not replace you, nor that he will stop his effing around.

Ano sabi? That he chooses someone who will pale by comparison with you, to guarantee that he will be faithful to you?
I am non-judgmental, I am reasonably broad-minded -- but I can't be that stupid or over-confident na Sakyan ko yang claim na yan.  But that's just me, what do I know anyway.

Ano pa sabi?  That he will avoid situations that can lead to whatever beyond flirting???  Aw, c'mon!  Reality sucks, but the Reality is that "miracles" can happen between 2 consenting adults anytime, anywhere.
Ano nga ba?  He is just good for flirting coz he's just after an ego massage (not a ball massage).  Errr excuse that -- I just find his claim to be ineffable --  IMO, if a man can push beyond flirting, he will level up his ego massage.  It's human nature: more, more, more.   IMO hindi yan titigil sa flirting.

What are you doing to yourself?
Why are you defending so vigorously what you  know is a dysfunctional relationship/arrangement?
You're very proud that you're a 3rd yr law student.  Tama lang to feel proud.    But why don't you face The Truth & objectively assess  case facts - that's what you're being trained for di ba?

Your ex bf just wants to get all the benefit without compromising anything. Do not expect kung talagang magpapakasal siya, get of that situation kasi ikaw lang naman talaga ang lugi, if he comes back ikaw talaga ang gusto niya but don't be available anytime that he just needs you.

Hi sis, no offense but he is playing you, like he is playing all those other girls especially that one girl that he still gives special attention too.
What you know from him about him is filtered and not to mention biased since you have feelings for him. What I see is this guy is having an EGO trip, its good that you are smart enough to see through him and post here to ask for advice kahit noon eh blinded ka pa sa kinang ng offer nya.. What I suggest is to find another guy and enjoy the commitment, or stay single muna then regroup, UNLESS you like to play with other guys too and get your ego fix, dopamine rush like your "BF" (no judgement HA may mga ganyan talaga ako kilala as in pang DE-STRESS nila ang mga many dates nila) , in that case... wala, baka bagay nga kayo just note that any nega feeling or intention from people you played with is energy and we all know how karma works...

Isa pa ito.  Ano ba naman iyan.  TS, sino ba ang law student sa inyo?  Mukhang yung guy ata.

Sorry TS if my posts in this thread are kinda mean.  Dito lang naman ako mean kasi I have shorter patience for women in their late 20s and 30s who are free/SINGLE and yet have no clue on what's happening around them.  Sana magising ka and have a much much better life.  Good luck!

sorry pero ang dating kasi sakin ng setup niyo, dahil matagal kayo, you're too good for each other and the likes, you both don't want to disappoint other people esp your family kasi nga matagal na kayo, kaya naghohold on kayo for each other kasi you need to portray an image something like that.

but sis naisip mo ba kung tama pa yung set up niyo? kasi if i would be in your place, kahit mahal ko yung guy i will never ever agree on such setup kasi parang feeling ko, option ako. oo sa akin nga babalik pero i am still an option. number one option. so, when all options fail, babalik ako sa number one option ko. TS, you deserve someone better. someone who will value you and respect you. and i agree sa sinabi mo na selfish siya. his reasons are beyond unreasonable. and are unacceptable reasons. i hope you're getting my point. wag ka magpaka t****. and guys like him have no balls at all.

if he really, truly loves you, he will not reserve you for a "future" time when he is better at relationships. you don't get better at relationships, actually, by hoping that the passage of time will resolve your personal issues. you make it work every single minute with the person you chose. and the things he enjoys now, they will become a habit. then it will be a part of him. fooling around, hurting people-- that will be who he is, if he doesn't stop. do you really want to be with someone like that?

about this girl-- now, she might not be as pretty or as smart or as accomplished and she may have vices-whatever. but she's not an accomplice at breaking someone else's heart. she's not deliberately hurting you. she's a person with feelings and who seem to be genuinely in love with your ex-boyfriend and who does not know you are still very much in the picture.

now, do you still really think you're better than her?

Isn't this like that old movie with Glenn Close: Dangerous Liaisons?
Can't really recall it, but it had the same cuento of playing with people's love/emotions & getting people into bed as  a game.

You have a similar situation with my friend ganyang ganyang nung naexposed bf nya sa corporate world parang naging option na lang sya hanggang unti unti na syang inaalis sa system nya kasi parang burden ka nalang he's SELF FISH are you sure that you see yourself with him for the next 10 years?

You're a smart girl naman you know much better bigyan mo ng hustisya ang sarili mo haha ;D
Move on girl... make yourself busy leave him and don't be too attached to him.

Hi sis, get a paper and tally their advice. Hurting you is enough proof the he doesn't love you. He only love his self. Yes, maybe you've known each other for about a decade but that doesn't mean na kilalang kilala mo na sya.

Save yourself from that kind of guy sis. But the most important thing to do is pray.
