Listen to me first to know kung ano ang issue to know ang appropriate response.

Then it depends na sa kung gaano kaserious yung issue.
- If petty lang, a simple related joke would be great.
- If semi-serious (eg, nabastos ako), ipagtanggol ako
- If really serious na may pa-cry cry pa, just listen and dont say "okay lang yan" or offer solutions unless deliberately tinanong ka

Listen lang and try to lighten the conversation by diverting it to whatever funny situation that doesn't involve me. Don't even attempt to downplay my feelings or try to solve whatever is bugging me kasi I'd get more pissed off.

Listen to what I'm saying and realize how I'm feeling.  I hate it when my feelings are easily dismissed without much consideration, or worse, totally ignored (ex. "Yun lang?  Sus, just forget that, okay?" or total silence).  Nakakainis din when they take over the conversation and they spout solution after solution without even letting me finish speaking.

It's so important that you listen.  Then comfort me with a hug and good food    Then we can talk solutions.
