so stress pala magbudget ng wedding lalo na limit lang ang budget namin... our budget is only 500k but when im started looking up the venues for ceremony and reception,photographer and videographer is total of 500k..we need pa ng designer for my gown and entourage,prenup stylist and venue and etc., now we decided that our approximate budget is 700k hope huwag nang tumaas pa dun but im super happy and excited for the preperation for our wedding

This is so refreshing to hear!  Struggle talaga ang pagbubudget.  I thought it would be easier for me since I work in a bank --- NO DIFFERENCE.  Struggle kung struggle.

What I have often heard from planners and other advisers, the budget has to be set talaga ng walang galawan.  The wedding represents the lifestyle you two will live as a couple; so parang ang weird naman na sobrang bongga ng kasal tapos paycheck to paycheck ang nagaganap sa totoong buhay (no offense meant).  You know what I mean.  So what we are doing (2016 pa kami and we're already planning eep!) is just choosing 2-3 items to splurge on.  Tapos yun na, lahat tipid moves na.  Buti na lang my family loves DIY, so all the required stationery, giveaways and tiny trinkets can be done at home.  Identified splurges namin ay catering and P/V.

if you would practice patience sa paghahanap ng suppliers and not grabbing the next big name you think about, then makakatipid ka, kung aim mo talaga yun. honestly, esp on p/v madaming midrange suppliers ang makakapagbigay ng output na magugustuhan mo, you just have to look and research.

sadly, it's hard not to notice that some brides are aiming for that big 'wow' that comes from booking a 'sikat' supplier, not really sa output. some would splurge on other nice to haves na hindi naman talaga kailangan, pero iniinsist na kailangan nila.

ladies you know where you can cut your budget, that is if you really want to.

i agree, we have to identify yung priority natin and be masigasig sa paghahanap ng suppliers. sakin lahat ng suppliers ko budgeted, but i made sure nagddeliver naman sila based on reviews sa kanila. and i agree. super big help ng GT. lahat halos ng major supplier ko produkto ng pagbabasa ng GT

@ sis raia_1303, if sa couturier ka papagawa, set ka atleast 60k for the gown and 30k for the suit
Ako 50k ang quote sa akin ng designer sa gown ko tas yung kay h2b rtw and nagset kami ng around 10k for that

^^ i can relate sis sparklingjewel. At first I was targeting upper mid-range suppliers. Apparently... there is no way to book all those suppliers unless you spend at least 1.5M and medyo sagad pa yon.
 
I also don't want to make the same mistake I made in my 1st wedding. Parang at the end of my wedding I felt like... "Yun na yon? I blew XXXXXXX pesos in just one day??!"The kuripot side of me felt a bit guilty hehe BUT 10 years later, here I go again........ di na ata ako natuto!!!! At fist I want simple lang, tapos upgrade ako ng upgrade! Dapat SELF CONTROL talaga, but its easier said than done.

Sis, grabe no, no matter how big or small your budget is, it is still REALLY hard to budget!!
And much as I feel guilty about the fact that we cant get it to fit, I want to make our special day one to remember and one we will be proud of. Once in a lifetime lang kasi, and we dont want to have any regrets about it. We know it's a big amount of money, in fact my contribution i think is like more than a third of my net worth, lol, but because it is a day you cannot repeat and one we will regret if the wrong suppliers make a mess out of it, we agreed to spend that much to get suppliers who will really please us. We will not compromise. Quality over quantity always. And with this I can sleep at night rather than worrying na may papalpak because I know they are talented.


       
our 1.6M naman includes a 150k contingency which means that net net, since we are currently at 1.72M (or 120k excess), then covered pa kami ng contingency.

kaya siguro. pero it will depend on the suppliers you will book. medyo marami kasi ang guests mo. kasi for us our total expenses will be around 650k for 200 guests. though marami rin kaming nice to haves jan.

Hi sis!  That really depends.  RTW sa Landmark can be pretty affordable, 20-35k.  Rosa Clara and Mi Sueño collections can be around 85-150k.  If you want it custom made, designers nasa 80-500k lol Veluz levels!  Hahaha.  But my brother's fiancee (and I plan to do this myself) scoured the Divisoria/168 shops, and her wedding gown, patterned against a couple of dresses found on David's Bridal, is just about 15k.  Ganda na yung yari, and I've read here on GT that there are dresses na MTO sa Divi but much cheaper.

It really depends on you which one you'd prefer.

What I plan to do para magstick sa budget is some of the items DIY like invitations, boutonniere, flowers at ang nasa isip naming give-away is something na may gagamit talaga (e.g., Php50 to Php100 like a donation in their name) also scouring for deals na makakahelp. We also have friends who have pledged to take on some of the expenses (e.g., wedding cake, pre-nup)

Kung may ideas kayo to help for brides like me with a tight budget, will truly appreciate it

^^sis, 30K is not enough for huma/amanpulo
oo nga, i think no need na for candy buffet or food cart.. maganda lang siya tingan pero actually, di din naman talaga siya masyado napapansin ng guests pag wedding, especially it's an adult event..
for other things, i think you can consult din your coordinator since full coordination siya.. i-maximize mo na sis si coordinator

sis have you tried inquiring with Bounce? Yung events place sa Mandaluyong. Ang tanda ko may around 90k wedding package sila for venue + food and other freebies. Di ko lang din ma-recall if for 100 or 150 guests yun.  Though yung food inclusion basic lang and wala pa ako nabasang review/feedback about the pacakage. check mo na lang sis if you want

Same tayo ng wish.. I noticed these past few weeks na yung exchange rate ng Australian dollars is a bit low. I hope it will shoot back up pag malapit na wedding namin. When is your wedding date by the way if you don't mind?

With regards to KbyC, 995/head yung menu A nila, but consider na rin not getting the styling upgrade from them since you will get the service of an event stylist naman baka makabawas sa expenses mo?
I noticed din that you will get food upgrades. Ok lang naman yon, pero KbyC did not waive my tax sis ha.. When my coordinator booked them, the only freebie I got is the +3 desserts.

Sa mga sure to book items mo, you might want to reconsider other stylist para hindi kana mag spend ng 80k solely for that? There are other stylists naman who can execute the same without spending much.. you may wanna try aira franco?or boop yap?

Re: Praying to book, if hindi talaga mag fit kay mr. libiran then try other couturiers or designers narin..edward teng maybe? he has been consistently good.

How many entourage do you have? Iam not so sure if 10k is enough for the favours.. Pero sa guests favours 10k is more than enough naman na.

Plus if your wedding is formal, try considering the ensemble instead of mp3 sis.

Hi girls, just want to share my proposed budget to get your opinions.. i want to know where i can cut the cost sana without compromising the quality of my wedding.. okay so since we reside abroad, di talaga consistent yung peso budget namin kase forex dependent sya. Our budget would only be NZD 45K, walang galawan no matter what so i really have to cut cost on my negotiables to make it work or pray na tumaas ang palitan! (haha how i wish!)

Sis, this is not meant to dampen your spirits in any way ha.. but I will give my inputs since my budget is quite similar to yours (P1.6M agreed namin pero at the moment we are at about P1.7M) and I think I can help.
- We are also K by Cunanan. The most basic package will require upgrades in selected food para hindi nakakahiya. Kasi bongga nga reception mo pero the food is so-so, sayang din diba? Honestly, like most of the guests will notice the food the most and not remember the styling details. Our package is 1195 + 150 (salmon upgrade) + 130 (prawn upgrade).
- Considering the class of suppliers you want to have, medyo kulang budget mo. Like Francis Libiran, Teddy Manuel is way too expensive and will take a huge percentage of your total budget that you will likely not be able to make the rest of the suppliers fit. In short, most likely mag overbudget ka, be prepared for that, especially since you already booked some major ones. This is what happened to us, our taste seems too good for our pockets (lol) pero we consciously recalibrate the budget to know exactly where we are at para if ever man sumobra, not too much.
- Parang kulang budget mo for lechon, prenup with a jet, Amanpulo, etc. Andami mo ding nice to haves, i suggest to cut down. Look at your list and decide the things that matter, kasi the way it is now medyo all out ka, if you get all these aabot ka 2M easily.

I didn't even realised the exchange rate thingy til you mentioned it. Lol! Whenever I send money to my coordinator and for pay my suppliers, lbc has a different rate din kase. Very Unpredictable!
Our working budget is 1M pero that includes our airfare na din (Melbourne-Manila-Melbourne), 200 guests and mid-range suppliers. With your budget I know you can still do something more without compromising the quality of the services. Konting puyat pa sa researching.
