^sis charmedter if in whatever way my post/comment here offended you, my honest apologies sis. But I believe the posts/comments here naman are intended for everyone, like some sisses natin shared their own 'budgeting philisophy' when it comes to their own wedding din. I think tips/advices for everyone in general and not really to judge or harm you. :)

Anyway, cheer up na sis and good vibes lang. At the end of the day, still it is your decision, your life and your wedding. Happy preps sis :)

Sorry too if it made you feel offended. I guess we're coming from different backgrounds.

Those are some of our learning points. Our engagement is long because we had to save up for both the wedding and our home after.
No-no talaga for us ang utang and we'd rather not get married yet.

Iba naman ang background niyo. Kung sure naman di kayo magiging kagaya ng horror stories, remain confident sa decision niyo and ignore posts here. Hindi kasi applicable sa inyo.

It's a forum, people will always share what they know or feel.

hi sis charmedter, sorry if my post offended you in someway. It was just friendly reminder to GT girls, I have experience it na kasi in my friend, they dont have money after their wedding & util now paying their debts. I don't want it to happen to others too :)

Hi sis gero, namiss kita :) yes Sana good vibes nalang :) walang negative comment and helping hand tayo mga sis :) cheers sa mga good vibes sis :)

Actually, what's wrong with making a negative comment?  As far as I can tell, hindi naman bawal sa GT ang magbigay ng negative comment.  And just because someone gives a negative comment does not necessarily mean that she/he does not want to help, di ba?

Take for example the issue of debt, those who were against it gave reasonable explanations why they are against it. And we can all agree that they are just saying it out of concern.

Let's not be too quick to dismiss the opinions of others as lessening the "good vibes".  Just because they don't agree with you does not mean they're not doing you a favor.

edited to add:

Sometimes you can tell when someone got pissed off just by the sheer number of smileys they use in a single post.   ;D

So back to the budget, yung mga extra expenses like meeting with suppliers, errands, gas and parking, malaki din pala ano?

Pero if you include it sa budget sobrang laki talaga.. kaloka! haha!

A whooping 24k.

That includes dp for church, reception, rings, precana (2k), transpo expenses, dp for 2br villa.

Grrrr.

My fiance' informed me that our budget should be 200K. But when we started the preparation its more than 300k already. My mere estimate is 400K excluding honeymoon.  I'm already listing DIY projects to reduce the cost.

^for us we treat our wedding as opening ceremonies ng life namin so very important sa amin na di kami nganga after. we are not comfy talaga to spend this and that for something na pwede namang wala. pero again, kanya kanya naman tayo. others would want na magarbo, others simply lang.

like some of our sisses (and bro) said, this is a forum, so members would post opinions here and there which is the purpose of forums anyway, to get third party opinions na may or may not makatulong sa atin.

cheers!

^agree. yung life after naman talaga ang mas pinaghahandaan ng mag-asawa. :)

---

our original budget was 350k. we cut it down to 300k. now that most of the details are materializing already, almost 340k na kami. i believe bababa pa if makakuha pa kami ng freebies sa venue. our goal is to no exceed 350k, including honeymoon. sa reception venue talaga kami hindi pwedeng mag cut ng costs since ours is a 'destination' wedding if i may say (although taga dun talaga ako, lol). so sagot namin ang accommodation ng buong family. sa guests, KKB, lol. so far, nakatipid na kami sa entourage dresses (sasagutin na nila yun), invites and souvenirs (DIY na lahat, so half yung matitipid namin). hindi na din kami maghire ng stylist since my sister and her friend offered to do it for us, and yung ibang details (ie table numbers, monograms, etc etc, DIY na din with the help of my Ates).

I think I need help from you girls about budgeting. I created a spreadsheet on how much the wedding would turn out, for 100 guests...it's about 1.2 M na :(

The reception venue I want 200k, the photographer I want is 115k, then the videographer is 95k. Yun pa lang almost half million na. Am I doing something wrong?

You're going for your dream suppliers kasi. That's how it would really turn out and might even go around 2M.

If you really want them and you have the budget, go for it. Otherwise, set a budget and then work backwards instead.

The first thing to do is set your budget.  I think the problem is you are doing it the other way around. If you are really getting what you really like then expect that your expenses will really be high.  There are photo and video packages that you can get around 75k that is really nice na.  But if you have more than enough money to spend then go for whatever you like.

Mga tips lang sis about meeting suppliers... fiance and I would usually go to their office na lang (kung meron) para hindi na kelangan gumastos sa 'coffee' or 'food'.  Then if you have suppliers na connected with Themes & Motifs, siguro you can schedule meetings  with them all in one day, dun sa office ng themes & motifs na mismo in Makati Shang para bawas oras at gastos sa pamasahe.. specially if your suppliers are coming from different parts of manila pa hehe... #tipidModeMoves  :P ;D
