Styling and Costing

Hi sisses!

I originally wanted to style my baby's first birthday but decided to get a stylist na din because I don't want to stress myself out on making the big props and the preparation on the day itself.

I found a stylist and agreed on the 33,500 fee for the styling of the entrance, ceiling, centerpieces and dessert station.

My peg is not that grand, just a simple shabby chic style for my theme. And now the costing they gave me is 30,000 additional! Ganito ba talaga mahal mga sis ang costing for labor and materials? The backdrop I think is simple lang naman for the design I approved and umabot ng 11,000...

Now I'm stressed because honestly this is way out of my budget. 60,000+ is too much for me to spend. Any suggestions on what I can do next? I already paid a downpayment of 15,000 which is non refundable...

Also, I have originally bought items abroad for the decors which cost me around 15,000 and they only decided to use them on the dessert station...

Thanks in advance! I won't be mentioning the stylist because they are nice naman. Yun lang I feel na they are overpricing me.

sis why not call other stylist..inquire ka lang muna then check nga if you're current stylist is overpricing you. kasi styling pa lang yan sis, laki na ng expenses nyo. syempre meron pang other things to consider (i.e., venue, caterer etc.) I attended a birthday yesterday and the styling is simple and chic..super like ko ang design

Actually ang dami ko ng natanungan  Most of them send the materials costing once they give the design, by that time dapat bayad na yung styling fee  Who was the stylist at the birthday party you attended? 

Oo nga sis ang dami pa kailangan i-consider... I hope ma budget ko ng maayos hehe

What kind of quotation did she give you? Did she outline exactly what was part of the original quotation? It would be unacceptable to me if the stylist doubled the cost for what was originally agreed upon. It's a different story if your requirements have changed.

I don't think it should cost 60K. I only paid 32K for my daughter's decor and it turned out beautiful. My stylist listed everything down - what the quote covered. She even added some extras on her own.

Yung 33,500 is styling fee palang. Maybe I assumed din na mura lang ang materials kasi usually cloth (for the ceiling, table runners, etc...) lang naman and flowers ang gagamitin nila... and hindi ko naisip na ganun kamahal ang charge nila for labor. I thought kasi na kasama na ang labor cost sa styling fee 

At the start kasi diba agree muna on the styling fee then upon approval of the design, bigay nila yung costing... Although they lessened 10k na (I asked for options to lower the amount), instead of the wooden backdrop, i agreed to cloth since I think it will work din naman, but still namamahalan pa din ako hehe  Ayoko na tumawad pa ulit kasi baka tipirin naman nila... Panindigan ko nalang kasi andiyan na  and they already gave the design which I loved especially the ceiling.

You are lucky to have paid 32,000 only sis tapos super happy ka pa sa outcome! Who was your stylist if you don't mind sharing?

miloo, I have a feeling I know who you got, is it Luxe Parties? I considered them rin, but their fee up front was more than 20K, no materials pa ha. Eh my budget was only 30K so I couldn't imagine them being able to execute what I wanted for 10K.

I got Spark + Twinkle. She asked me what I wanted and then gave me a quote. It was a very detailed quotation of what it would include. I was surprised that she included some extras as well that wasn't in her quotation at no additional cost. Needless to say, I will go back to her for my future parties. Here's photos of our party so you have an idea.

I tried contacting Spark & Twinkle but she didn't reply na and I read here na she is not offering party styling anymore...

I didn't get Luxe Parties - I love their work but super expensive for me, their minimum package is 70k when I inquired last year

Really? I didn't know that! I have a friend who's daughter just celebrated her first birthday and Spark+Twinkle was their stylist.

Wow khrisee! Hailey's party is one of the prettiest daintiest parties i've seen. I told spark & twinkle i wanted a party like that too! ( it took her so long to answer my questions and gv a quotation kaya i went for someone else ). Its so nice to see who Hailey's party belongs too! Very very nice party. One of my favorites! And at that price too! Galing! Super sulit!

Hi girls, share ko lang you may also want to check Party Magic by Michelle Lao, all her works are very nice, I intend to get her on my baby's first birthday. She seems nice. Her service is 50k and includes props and everything. I am just waiting until I give birth before I confirm to her, we are based overseas that's why as early as now nag iinquire na din ako. I also inquired sa Luxe Parties and yes their package was 60k what I didnt like are the inclusions that come with it parang they way it was presented the package could still go over 60k.

Thank you Banff and kreez! Agree, super sulit na! Though I did buy some of the items myself - balloons, streamers and loot bags and party favors coz I was a little OC on the color. But I gave the materials the kathleen and she set it up! I really didn't know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the venue!

When she gives a quote kasama na yung sample design and costing. May idea ka na how it will look.
