@hallerski, kung sino na lang mas makasundo mo and swak sa budget mo. If panalo naman sila pareho sa feedback, either of the two will do, ang mahalaga di ka masyado mapressure at mastress. Nakakadagdag din sa stress ang pagkalito sa suppliers, better na kausapin mo sila muna thru phone calls or kung may time ka naman for meetup , for sure naman mafefeel mo naman sa kanila kung sino mas makakagaanan mo ng loob

oo nga sis.. nakapili na kami.. kase yung isang host na pinagpipilian namin, yun na pala yung host ni ate nung wedding niya.. so yung isa na ang pinili namin, para maiba naman..

For your peace of mind, maybe have her indicate in the contract na no cancelations unless sickness or acts of God?
Is your wedding around the time dun sa canceled bride? Parang annual meeting yata yun.

Talk to her and see what assurance you can get kasi you never know what will be needed from her work.

naneng, she didn't reply immediately but i got my contract a few days after making a downpayment.

as for the cancellation, their company was recently acquired by another company. they were asked to attend this leadership seminar/conference that coincided with the bride's wedding date. she immediately informed the bride and provided/suggested multiple replacements.

you know, i had a chance to cancel my booking with her. it was early pa naman that time, and i could've easily looked for another emcee. but after texting her, she immediately called me up naman and explained her side of the story. she wasn't malicious nor did she attack the bride, so i decided to stick with my booking.

i completely understand din naman the bride. i've read the exchanges also. at the end of the day, i kept my booking with mallory.

Mas makakamura ba if OTD coordinator na host na rin ? Or mas ok if magkaiba para makapagfocus sya sa isang task at hindi sya masyadong pagod. Naimagine ko kasi na nakakapagod maging host while at the same time coordinator ka pa. Also, naiisip ko naman if magkaiba baka magtalo or magsalubong mga strategies na gusto nilang gawin lalo na medyo bosy si coordinator sa ibang suppliers, magkagulo pa lalo ang program. Ano nga kaya?

May isang wedding host akong naencounter ang haba ng baba, tipong kapag nadapa mamatay joke , palengkera maghost kahit nagEenglish sya, pero sikat daw sya. Baka kilala nyo kasi di ko kilala sa pangalan. Hindi ko na kasi inaalam, pero baka kasi kilala talaga kasi pansin na pansin na mahaba baba hahahaha! Inaway nya kasi mobile bar ng brother ko, nakita ko tunay na kulay nya sa isang event. Grabe napakataray nya sa mga tauhan nya at tauhan ng brother ko.

booked Grace Dayo of Dayo Studio. She'll be the one to host our reception and emcee din sya sa church. Very professional and sobrang bait.
schoolmate ko sya nung college at tropa ng tropa ko kaya may discount ako sakanya.

Sis bratinella33, I worked with Portia twice already. We got introduced to her through friends of friends. She's fun and very easy to work with kasi given na din na she's one of the younger wedding hosts. The first time we had her was in my Tita's wedding in Alabang this year where my sister and I were the "organizers." Okay naman ang results, especially since she handled the program well kasi challenge din na majority ng guests ay oldies.

I also know of Thoffy because my cousin considered him for her wedding. He's eloquent and maraming jokes. Kaya lang, my cousin ended up requesting the MOH/ her bestfriend to host since wala na silang budget. Hehe.

It like pinakamahirap maghanap ng host unless napanood mo na mismo sa wedding, wala silang sample videos na mapakita when we inquired, ang hirap magdecide at pumili kung ganun. Pano ginawa nyo para makapili kayo?

(Note:  The "host" is you.  Maybe what you meant is "emcee".    )

For me, I'd prefer it if the OTD coordinators will also supply the emcee.  Why?  Less complications.  Like you said, there would be no need to reconcile differing strategies and styles if they're from the same outfit.  And I don't think the emcee will be overburdened with responsibilities because there are 3 or 4 other people who will do actual the legwork during the reception.

Usually ang lead coordinator din ang emcee if you avail of an integrated OTD-emcee package.  In such a situation, the emcee will be in a perfect position to pace the  flow of the event, and even improvise if any unforeseen circumstance arises.  Hindi na niya kailangan makipag-coordinate sa kung kanino to get a go signal to improvise kasi siya na ang lead coordinator.

Sis jansalcedo you can ask to meet them in person tapos interview ninyo ni hubby-to-be. If kumportable kayong isama ang coordinator during these meet-ups, pwede din. Kung hindi, bring a friend who can help screen your preferences. Good luck sis!!! Kaya yan!

hehe sis jansalcedo mejo madugo ang ginawa naming pag screen ni fiance ng emcees as in.. name search sa youtube or vimeo... tapos may mga lalabas na mga SDE ng mga couples then i-screen namin yung videos for some shots na nagsasalita yung emcee para ma-gauge namin kung ok ba sha magsalita or hindi.

Then next, we'll look at the actual reception clips from the SDE (yes kahit seconds lang ang shot) makikita mo kase kung may guests pang natitira or what haha, which we think could be a pretty good indication kung marunong magdala ng crowd yung emcee 

Some emcees naman talagang meron silang mga videos on their own website so pinapanood namin talaga yun... isa isa. 

From what I've heard, hindi talaga nag popost ng full videos yung mga emcees for fear of having their programs copied by other emcees hehe.

I am a 2015 bride too, i have noticed that most of the brides are now scouting scouting or Shall I say, has already booked most of their preferred suppliers. I'm very much thankful to FN and to the members here because I was able to find the perfect host for our wedding. I have read a couple of feedbacks, reviews, suggestions re different hosts but this one really picked my interest. I think she is the perfect fit for our preferred theme, my husband would like to have a formal wedding and reception.. Formal reception but not necessarily boring. We are Christians kasi and my father in law is a Pastor, so most of the visitors are Pastors too. We wanted to make sure that there are no inappropriate jokes during the event, just clean fun.. I got her availability na and we'll book her the soonest.. She's none other than Ms. darlene.

Try Lia Guerrero, she's classy, witty and sobrang easy to work with. Worth every peso kasi she was so professional and everyone enjoyed her hosting. Hubby and I are fans!:)

By the way - for the love of God - huwag niyong kunin yung "in-house" emcee ng Robert Camba Catering kung ayaw niyong mapahiya sa mga bisita niyo.

Wasn't able to get his name, but he gave a "sample" of his "prowess" during Robert Camba's food tasting.  Magaling mag-modulate pero P-F defect galore, not to mention faulty grammar.

Meron akong naexperience sa wedding ng friend ko where they hired a singer-host. For me di ko sya masyadong bet kase parang ang epal na masyado na ikaw na nga salita ng salita sa harap, tapos pag nag introduce ka ng kakanta eh ikaw din pala yun. Ganun kase atake nya nung kakanta na sya. Also, pinagalitan nya pa yung mga nagpophotobooth during the program, pinapatay nya yung photobooth (he commanded this on the mic ha so everyone was looking at the people at the photo booth, and guess what, kami yun!! Haha) kase daw kelangan andun kami sa program. Ayun nairita lang kami ng mga kaibigan ko.

Hosting wise, corny sya. Haha! Male emcee to eh, i just forgot his name, pero medyo may edad na hindi din naman pleasant tingnan. LOL.

Anyway, i'm looking at booking Zenith since free na ang hosting nila sa OTD package. Highly recommended sya ng friend ko for coordination. For hosting i still have to see them sa wedding ng friend ko next month.

Regarding kay Thoffy, magaling sya!!! And hindi sya boring. 2012 ko pa sya nakita mag emcee ng wedding ng kaibigan ko.

A lot of raves about Ms. Darlene sounds very interesting. I don't know how can I book her, Im just curious din if may emcee na nagbabridal fair, di kasi nababanggit dito. Nakita ko kasi may mga host sa Weddings and beyond pero hindi ko bet, I don't know if Themes and Motifs is the same, gusto ko na magbook ng ibang suppliers this coming Themes and Motifs.
