Hi former brides and b2b's.. pls share your tips and problems when processing church requirements like baptismal and confirmation certificate..cenomar.. and marriage license. .

Our wedding is this july na and were currently processing docs.. ang dami pla! Pls share your experiences

I'm sharing my part as an overseas b2b.

1. ang hirap makapag pa appointment sa pari! haha It's understandable naman na they're busy and our parish priest will only talk to us after our wedding seminar next month. kaya all our questions, naka bitin.

2. I don't know what a cenomar is. I don't think we were asked to obtain one.

3. as for confirmation, though required sa catholics na ma complete mo ang sacraments, hinde sila masyado strict dito. I mean, you can still have a wedding kahit pa wala ka confirmation. Sa baptismal naman, both h2b and I were baptized in the Philippines and we were asked by our parish (on our first meeting) to obtain a NEW copy of our baptismal certificates. E ang dala ng parents namen since migrating are the original ones. as in the kopong kopong copy pa.  we are still waiting for our baptismal certificates to come in the mail.

4. another problem for us, may mga pagkakataon kasi na they're not allowing "outside" songs to be sung in the church. Kung ano meron dun sa book, kailangan dun ka pumili. they might allow us not to follow this rule on our wedding day kasi meron mga kanta na gustong gusto talaga namen like Lead Me Lord.



kaya my advice to overseas brides e kauspin ang parish priest kasi some are strict, some are lenient. I think ang pinaka "hassle" sa lahat is yung pagkuha ng new copy of baptismal certificates lalo na kung wala ka sa Pinas to process it by yourself. Hiningan pa din kasi kame ng formal letter saying what it's for and power of attorney para dun sa maglalakad nung baptismal certificates namen.

1st I guess is to have a newly authenticated birth certificate and Cenomar.. I requested it online kasi mas mabilis and less hassle. . I received mine 2 days after..

Next thing I did was to check which parish I was baptized and confirmed. Good thing my mom kept a copy of it.. so we just called the Parish to request for a new one with "for marriage" annotation.. then my mom picked it up the day after

Today, as I was filling the docs I noticed that on my birth certificate one of my 1st name was spelled out as maria while my baptismal and confirmation certs only spell it as Ma. do you girls thing it would be a conflict with Christ the King?

Im done with cenomar and birth cert - pinakuha ko lang sa friend ni mama na taga munispyo namin. Mas madali kasi at mura - kesa sa online - one day lang nakuha na din.

Yesterday, pumunta ako sa church kung saan ako bininyagan  - sa may Tayuman pa. Naimagine ko na din pano kung sa malayong lugar ako bininyagan hehe.. kahirap!


Baptismal at confirmation ni h2b is sa parish lang namin so madali lang yun pati yung kumpil ko. hehe Kaibigan ko yung secretary ni Father e... Close ko din si Father. Sa May na yung wedding namin kaya haggard tuloy ako ehhe

nakakaloka ang CENOMAR hindi namin nagamit at hindi naman hiningi samin...pero keri lang importante always ready tayo with the documents...

Sharing lang...

Sa SM Business Center na ako kumuha ng birth certificate and CENOMAR namin ni h2b. Not as costly compared online tapos after 1 week pwede ko na kunin.

+20php lang per document yung processing fee nila on top of the usual NSO price. Okay na rin kasi at least hindi na ako nasayangan ng almost whole day kung sa NSO ko pa kukunin

^ Hi sis. Just wondering, pwedeng kumuha sa business center ng birth cert na for marriage? Kasi dun sa requirements na binigay sa amin ng supposed church namin ang sabi yung for marriage purpose daw tapos kailangan kinuha 6 months before the wedding.

^I think pwede naman. Parang wala nga akong difference or annotation (na for marriage) na napansin halos same lang..unlike sa cenomar may naka lagay..

^ Thank you! Mas madaling makakakuha si hubby since walang problema sa part ko kasi walking distance lang kami sa church kung san ako bininyagan at kinumpilan.

better to call na CTK pero may bride ako na ganyan sa San Agustin, di naman na-question. BUT make sure ang nasa birth cert mo at marriage contract ay same para no more problems in the future.

sis, walang "for marriage purposes" ang birth cert need lang na newly issued. maarte lang. haha

^lol. akala ko pa naman need talaga iyong may "for marriage purposes" na birth cert kaya kukuha ng bago.

better to call na CTK pero may bride ako na ganyan sa San Agustin, di naman na-question. BUT make sure ang nasa birth cert mo at marriage contract ay same para no more problems in the future.

my mom was able to talk with ctk nung tumawag sila to verify some information.. parang need ko ng affidavit stating na same person lang daw si maria and Ma. Hehe, usually kasi shinoshort cut ng school eh.. haay..

Hello. May bayad po ba ang magpost ng wedding banns? I'm confused. Sa h2b ko hindi siya hiningan ng bayad sa mga parishes nya but when I went to mine, hinihingan ako ng php500 at sinabihan ako na standard yun sa lahat ng simbahan. Ano po ba talaga?

yes sis meron po ata talagang bayad ang wedding banns samin kasi ni husband i paid 600 same church lang kasi kame...

kelan wedding nyo sis? ..same tayo Ganun din before si husband kaya ang ginawa ko pinauwi ko sya a month before our wedding para sa pag aayos ng mga papers at seminars....
