I have this colleague who recently got engaged and I'm happy for her. The thing is, when she asked me how they should begin with the preps, she suddenly boasted about her ring. She told me that it was expensive (because the receipt was also given to her) and so on. I understand na sobrang saya lang niya that's why she told me those things. The thing that really annoyed me was when she told me na luma na yung style ng engagement ring ko (traditional tiffany) and hers was the new one (crown style she said). I love my ring so much! Specially that it was given to me by my soon to be husband. She's too insensitive to say that to me and we're not even close friends. Sorry for the rant. Nainis lang talaga ko sa kanya. I don't think it's proper. Am I being too sensitive?

No sis! not sensitive at all. I find it pathetic actually sobrang naawa ako sa mga taong kailangan magyabang and i-down ang iba to make themselves feel a little bit better than they actually are. And I believe engagement/wedding rings reflect the personality of the couple and it doesn't have to be big, expensive and stylish.

Don't mind her sis. Just be happy because you are getting married to the one you love so ignore the negative vibes like her.

I was asking him for the box so I'd have something to place the ring into when I need to take it off especially whenever I sleep, but ayaw ibigay kasi malalaman ko raw 'yung brand ng ring, baka daw i-Google ko at makita ko ang price range lol.

Hello! May I ask kung may marerefer kayo na jewelry shop na ok magpa reset ng ring and to check for wedding rings na din. I want to reset/repair my e-ring kasi and upgrade it to a bigger stone. I'm thinking of keeping my existing stone and put it on my wedding ring kasi maganda cut and clarity nya but too small for an e-ring. Any suggestion please. 😔 Thanks.

i am not really a fan of jewellery. In fact, I only wear my trusty pearl earrings. I was so surprised when fiance proposed with a very classic diamond ring! I love it so much.. can't stop staring at it. By the way, we were together for 13 years before he proposed. Its really worth the wait and I did not regret waiting that long. We always believe that hard work and perseverance pay off

Sa mga newly engaged.. Check niyo lage yung diamond sa ring niyo. Yesterday kasi nag panic ako. Nung nasa pantry kami ng office ko pag pahid ko ng face ko napansin ko gumasgas sa face ko yung engagement ring ko. Tapos pag tingin ko nawawala yung diamond ng ring ko. Promise nanlaming ako sa nerbyos at di ko alam gagawin ko..Una ko naisip pano ko ieexplain kay fiance na nawala ko yun. Pangalawa pano kung di ko na makita lalo na ngccommute ako papasok so pedeng dun ko nahulog. SO ayun lahat ng officemate ko ng effort din mag hanap. Medyo nawalan ako ng pag asa pagbalik ko sa workstation ko naiyak na ako. Tapos sabi ng guard namin check ko daw bulsa ko. Buti na lang ayun nasa bulsa ko nga. Kaya lesson learned lage niyo icheck yung diamonds kung intact pa sa mismong ring. Ayun plan ko dalhin sa jewelry store kung saan niya binili yun para ipacheck. Bale almost 2 years na sa akin yung ring. Lapit na din Big Day namin kaya nag decide ako na baka di ko muna isuot yung ring bago big day namin.. Medyo na trauma ako. Anyways, congrats sa mga newly engaged dyan happy wedding prep.

Plan na namin mag pacustomize ng engagement ring and wedding ring.

Gusto kasi namin na yellow gold 18k with diamond. Nung nagpa quote ako, aabot ng 200k ang engagement ring dahil 1ct diamond center stone then may mga maliit na diamond sa side band then 18k yellow gold ring kaya umabot ng 200k.

Mostly kasi na nakita namin sa store nasa 14k white gold setting ang real diamond.
Kung may yellow gold naman, russian stones lang ang nakakabit sa ring which will only cost you around 10,000pesos, manipis and wala atang value yung russian stones overtime kaya nag decide kami na ipacustomize na lang.


Maximum budget namin sa engagement ring and wedding rings, total of 300k.

We decided to invest sa ring kasi forever naman namin yan susuotin at pwedeng pang heirloom.

If magpaka wise kami sa pera and choose moissanite over diamond, pwede bang pang heirloom ang moissanite stone? may value ba ang moissanite stones pag tumagal?

^sa pagkaka-alam ko sis kaya laging 14K ang setting kasi mas matigas yan... mas mataas ang karat ng gold mas malambot... we wouldn't want our real diamonds to be compromised di ba, kaya kadalasan 14k ang setting talaga.

Go for the diamond. That 300k is very good na, it can even give you a platinum ring. Ensure na may GIA (or other independent body) certificate yung stone mo. and check mo alin priority mo, malaki ba na stone, ok lang bang mababang grade ng color, and yung Cut, round brilliant ba? basta yung 4C ng diamond .

I opt for  a D color, round brilliant, yung nga lang 0.7 Ct lang

Kahit hindi sya tiffany or ano pa mamahalin na brand, I'm super happy with it kasi nageffort si hubby. Yung amount na yun pwede na niya ipambayad sa ibang more important expenses nia like boarding house yet ibinili niya ako ng ring. He was just earning around 12k a month that time.
