I'm glad I don't get to experience these gaps and stone probs the rings are causing you girls.. the diamond on my e-ring in princess cut has a high setting, 8 diamonds on the band in channel setting,  while the wedding ring is just a simple two-toned plain ring (no stones at all) which I really love trying everyday on my finger lol! no gaps and no sapawan of design. I love them both. Sana lang di ako mahuli ni hubby na araw araw kong sinusukat ang rings.

Yung sa akin wala ding gap. Full eternity ring yung wedding ring namin then solitaire ring naman yung engagement ring. Dikit lang sila always. :-) natuwa ako kasi simple at elegante lang syang tingnan hindi super laking tingnan sa ring finger ko, sakto lang.

reese17, i just visited the jeweler earlier and asked her for the half-eternity with surface prongs. She had the perfect one! Full half eternity meaning it was not just 8-10 stones (i hate the look pag bitin yun kasi). I fitted it so many times i wanted to buy it already haha but it wasnt my size yet. Will send you pic!

Chili1113, it was Japan-made, 18k, and the stones were pretty good quality (whitish, but i forgot to ask the tcw. In any case i am sure the quality of both gold and stones are better than the 14k ones i checked sa bridal fair).. so we're getting them bands from her na.

And (newsflash!) I just realized from fitting all sorts of bands that i actually now like mine more with a gap (like Heart's) para kita both ring designs from afar and the e-ring isnt merged into the band (sayang naman if both are fairly attractive on its own) =) So ironic! Hehe. So we're having our rings custom made when they fly abroad in June So happy the search is over!!

Hi sparklingjewel! I am so glad you've found your wedding ring =) I also agree that the wedding ring should be pretty on its own/separately. Especially since I plan to wear my wedding ring solo on my left hand after I get married and not always wear my engagement ring as I want to wear my other rings on my right hand.

So exciting!! anyway yeah... the gap doesnt reallly matter as long as both rings are 100 percent to your liking! Plus setting are easy to adjust later on if you change your mind.

I'm sure they'll push for the best--- nothing less than 18k gold and good quality diamonds. Their HK crafters can do whatever style you want daw since they're really good vs. their local crafters. You can specify how big you want the diamonds to be and what kind of setting. Me, i didn't really know how big  but i had saved pictures on my phone and just showed her that this is exactly what I wanted.

^Yes i believe they were reasonable. 30k+ daw for fiance's thick, comfort fit 18k white gold band with a single diamond, and about 65-70k ata for my half-eternity.. not sure on the size of the diamonds but they were bigger than i expected i'd be putting. My e-ring has a very very thin, dainty, studded band kasi but it wasn't too thick that it overwhelmed the former. 100k for a pair isnt bad i think, given that both will be made in HK and have better quality diamonds and gold than what is available here. Plus I've seen 100k+ sets in bridal fairs that are still ugly. Hehe.

Her next trip will be in June, perhaps you can visit her before then para sabay na.
I am sure she will only recommend to get them from HK for you..she only offers the local ones for budget's sake but personally she says no less than 18k talaga and from HK/Japan so that the quality is really assured. Screw the 14k rings i almost fell for at the bridal fair!! So glad my fiance and his mom stopped me. Baka nagsisi ako. Ang mura kasi. But now i realize they could easily have been very poor quality and tarnish over time.

That sounds good!! I will definitely check it out =) I really think the best rings are set in HK or maybe Japan. I'll visit them this summer if h2b agrees. He once told me that we could start sourcing the rings already because every year gold and diamonds go up in price. Exciting!!

^Thanks sevenstars! I worried way too much about the gap initially and never thought it could work out. Now that i saw both with actual bands worn i just realized i loved how it looked with a gap much more. Still dainty instead of chunky since hiwalay padin sila.

weddingbelle, i havent read the entire thread yet so i dont know if what i'll say has been suggested already... you can use that 10 pointer (tama ba?) as a surprise diamond. try to google it. it can be reset to different styles. but i would suggest that you put it on your wedding band (if wala pa kayo or kung meron na, but the thickness of the band can accommodate it). bale the stone will be set on the inner siide of the band where the engraving is done. that way you can have the e-ring that you really wanted without throwing away the original stone that was given you.

i think you're referring to the hallmarks and the maker's marks. hallmarks indicate the metal's purity and the maker's marks naman are codes of the manufacturers.

based on my personal experience, all imported pieces of jewerly i own have hallmarks but not all have maker's marks... in terms of locally made pieces, parang di uso sa atin. mostly walang marks yung sakin altough i have a few na meron but im not sure if they were made locally. i purchased them from mall stores a long time ago and never bothered to ask.

I never bothered about the specs of my ring. All I know is that it's a 1ct diamond marquise cut in an 18k white gold. It's awesome and I love it.

Haven't been wearing my engagement ring for the past 3weeks. Kasi while at a function with fiance, i noticed may nawawalang bato!! a small one lang naman but still! i was so pissed and worried. Nakaka asar.  fiance brought it back to the jeweler. Naayos naman agad and he re assured me that its ok. But all the same, we are a month away from being wed so hindi ko na lang muna sinusuot.

^Aww how sad naman. Yan din fear ko, na baka pagtingin ko biglang may missing stone na from the band tas kailangan pagawa. Or worse, yung big stone yung mawala! I have 26 smaller stones in the halo and band, surrounding the center one at madalas ko rin kasi natatama yung ring. Buti it hasn't happened.

Ok lang yan sis you'll get it in time for the wedding
