for me naman "all quiet on the western front" ang peg ng natitira kong ovary
minsan nga nakakatakot eh kasi baka mamaya silent killing na pala ang ngyayari sa loob ko haha

joke
I am also a sufferer ng endo pero the past years have been good to me
Basta ever since I took Althea, I was relieved of the pain. and I am dreading the day i have to stop it
Wala akong naexperience na shots shots na yan kaya I don't know what it is like
Just a little background, 2006 nung na-operahan ako, oopherectomy, my right ovary blew up to a 7cm size and had to be taken out due to endo and also because I was having UTI na and infections kasi it was pushing my bladder to the left. Actually, akala nila separate cyst yung 7cm na un, when they opened me up dun lang nila nakita na it was my ovary itself

OB Oncologist pa ang doc ko nun ha, the best of the best daw, said our old pediatrician, of Makati Med. I just can't figure it out that after all the ultrasounds bakit hindi nakita na ovary ko pala un? not a separate cyst, before they opened me up?
Anyway when they opened me, they also saw that my left ovary had so many tiny cysts and also going through the same thing as my right ovary but it wasn't big, yet. He cauterized all the tiny cysts. After the operation he suggested to take contraceptive shots every 6 months to stop my period, as a band-aid solution for endo. He also explained all the symptoms I will experience if I will do those shots and I was terrified. He even said when I am ready to have a baby, then he will give me fertilization shots naman

sa loob loob namin ni mama "forget it!". I was just 21yo then.
My mom brought me to all sorts of natural alternative doctors, doing cleansing, taking naturopathic meds/supplements, so on and so forth..jumping from one doc to the other and still experiencing the same symptoms (very painful menstruation, etc). I was giving up little by little and after some time refused to go to any doctor anymore coz I told my mother it was just a waste of money.
I think I remember that the last naturopathic Doc I went to worked. His supplements were expensive, and he is all the way in Baguio, I just forgot his name. Will find out.
Fast forward after 3yrs I had a baby. And sabi nga ng docs when you get pregnant syempre since wala tayong period, wala na tayo symptoms, which is a temporary relief. Gosh it was such a relief. But of course, we cannot get pregnant every 9 months naman diba??? so after giving birth, little by little all the symptoms started to creep in again and I was back to suffering big time like nothing had changed. I went to 2 docs and both of them told me to take contraceptive pills. This was my last resort, I did not care anymore if it was against religious beliefs or what (yun kasi narinig ko sa mama ko haha), heck, I was not wanting to use it anyway just for birth control reasons, but because I was DESPERATE to relieve myself of the pain coz it was progressing so fast that 2 flanax forte tabs a day would not work anymore! So there, I took the pills and all the symptoms flew out of the window!
From time to time, on very very rare occasions I would have a bit of pain on my left side,..but goes away at the end of the day, bed rest is what I do. Other than that, no pain AT ALL. and my period is not as strong as before. Just to monitor my left ovary, I get an ultrasound every 6 months, also pap smear etc. Everything seems quiet. But just last Feb I discovered that I had a lot of cysts on both my breasts when I had my first breast ultrasound. It scared the sh!t out of me. I am due for the next ultrasound this month. Will see what has happened the past 6 months
The doc who operated me said the "best" thing for me to do now after I get off the pill on my 5th year is to use an IUD named Mirena (can only be found in the U.S). Read about good/bad side effects it gave but I think it is nothing compared to taking the shots. Another Obgyn naman told me na it's okay to continue taking the pills even after 5yrs. Hay, ano ba talaga? Sa ngayon, I don't want to think about it muna. I'll just continue what I am doing and cross the bridge when I get there. Sabi nga rin naman my obgyn eh my endo is not the important thing now to be concerned of, but the cysts in my breasts. Hay buhay.
