Hi mga sis! share ko lang din yung experience ko..around 2-3 years na ko may bi-lateral endo, got married last January so TTC na kami. My OB Dra. Judith Galang-Perez (Asian Hospital) advised me to undergo operation na since I didn't respond well sa medication nia (althea pills) and lumaki yung cyst ko aroung 5cm na sya last February. So sabi nai observe muna and try to conceive for 3 months then operation na if mag fail.
April 24 sumakit ng sobra abdomen ko. I would describe it as the most painful I ever felt in my entire life! sobrang unbearable yung pain nia and I had a feeling that it has something to do with my endometriosis so napadala ko sa ER and nag TVU true enough endo nga..nag leak yung cyst ko kaya super sakit and my OB advised na mag emergency operation na kami. Here's the timeline:
LAPAROTOMY Operation (bikini cut):
April 24, 2014
4 pm - went to the ER
5-7 pm - (blood, urine, skin) tests , TVU
8 PM - pinasok na ako sa pre-operationg room
9 PM - 11 PM - Operation (spinal aneshesia/epidural)
11- 1 AM - Recovery room
1 AM sa room na
During my operation pagising gising ako and chinichika ko na si Dra. pero sabi nia wag muna ko magsalita kasi open pako and baka hanginin ako hehe. BTW my OB found out na lumaki yung left cyst ko ( from 5cm to 7cm na in a matter of 2 months) kaya nag leak and possible na mag rupture na sya.
Recovery:
Day 1 - operation
Day 2 - ok na feeling ko aside sa limited talaga kilos, I was happy and feeling so much okay. The operation went well and I felt like pwede nako umuwi the next day. Tumayo na din ako and naglakad going to the CR, in terms of food , liquid diet lang.
Day 3 - I had an extremely painful headache and this is due to the epidural daw. Not everyone may experience this but this is also part of the side effect
Day 4 - still experiencing headache so my Dr. advised me to just lay in bed flat. Complete bedrest
Day 5 - still experiencing headache so my OB referred me to a Neurologist kasi she was worried usually daw kasi 2 days lang then normal na. Neurologist advised na ibalik yung IV ko since I need more fluids and needs 2 day obseration
Day 6 - no more headache, still under observation
Day 7 - no more headache, still under observation
Day 8 - discharge date at last!!!
All in all, ok yung operation ko except for the spinal headache. If not because of that 3days lang siguro ko sa hospital. I never felt any pain sa incision ko except nung nag sneeze ako the day after so try not to sneeze or cough hehe. My Dr. ordered me 30-days of rest. This is my 1st day sa office and I'll be filling my magna carta leave pa lang.
