The first thing I was able to buy for my baby was the old school duyan (Yung binebenta ng mga cow).  I bought this on the 21st week, the day after we have confirmed he's a boy.  Nadepress kasi ako nung nalaman kong buntis ako (kahit na 1.5 years na kaming married) kasi conceiving wasn't a priority yet that time.  When I found out it was a boy, ayun, naging masaya na ako.

Tapos last payday, as advised by one of our sisses na nakilala ko rin dito, I started buying disposable diapers ng paunti-unti.  So I had 44 pieces then.

Some two weeks ago, I also opened a separate bank account para dun ilagay yung budget for my delivery.

1) Side tie with sleeves for newborn 4 pcs
2) Bigkis - 5 pieces
3) Three sets of mittens, bonnettes and booties
4) Three pieces bird's eye cloth diapers
5) Six pieces curity gauze cloth diapers

Last Sunday naman, I went to my friend's house to get the crib she'll be lending me.

1.  Crib
2.  Baby shoes
3.  Starter set for bottles

Come Monday, which was a holiday, nagshopping ulit ako, this time sa Robinsons Metro East na. And buti nagpunta ako.  I got a good quality stroller with car seat na worth PhP 5600 dahil nga sale. hehe :)

So last Monday's accomplishments:
1.  Stoller
2.  Car seat
3.  1 dozen cloth diapers (again)
6.  Milk container ([textspeak!] makulay na apat na patong-patong)
7.  Comforter, hotdog pillow and pillow set (need ko pa ng two more sets)
8.  Pacifier
9.  Two pieces receiving blankets
10. Three pieces pajamas
11.  Three pairs mittens
12.  Three pairs booties
13.  Three bonnettes
14.  Yung onesie na ipapang-uwi niya from hospital
15.  Diaper Clamps
16.  Two plastic sheets
17.  Two powder cases
18.  Four pairs nipples for newborn
19.  Two pairs nipples for 3-6 months (kasi yung nakalagay sa feeding bottles eh 3-6 months)
20.  Eight pieces feeding bottles
21.  Three bibs
22.  Eight 12 oz feeding bottles
23.  Mosquito Net

Wala akong dalang listahan nung nagpunta ako.  We were just planning to buy stroller, car seat, sterilizer and feeding bottles pero mukang may script na sila sa department store if makita nilang may dumating na buntis hehe..

I am now on my 26th week.  Actually pinayagan ako ng company namin na magwork from home kasi my three-hour drive from BGC going to San Mateo, Rizal causes myometrical contractions.  Pahirapan din ang approval of course dahil ang dami namang buntis na nakakapagwork pa rin without any problems.

sis LGV, ako nung 11th week ata, kasi may history kami and as expected may GDM ako.

1pack of wash cloth,
2 avent honey tint bottles

May konting uti daw ako.. She asked me to take cefalexin for a week.

Hi mommies,

First baby ko, it's a boy and he's due on the 2nd of December.  :) Super excited kami ni Hubby kasi just in time for his birthday ang pagdating ni Baby.

I've had an easy pregnancy so far, in my opinion. Di ako naka-experience ng morning sickness, minimal naman yung sensitivity ko to certain smells, no headaches whatsoever. Pero syempre, andyan pa rin yung namamagang ilong, yung sobrang pagkaantok, yung occasional backpain, yung slight manas and pagiging iyakin.

So far I've had two OBs. The first one (Dra. Marisa Reyes) came very well recommended by many moms here in GT. Kaya lang nalayuan kami sa clinic niya. We live near Sta. Lucia, and since madalas matraffic sa may Imelda/Felix Ave., nagdalawang-isip kami kasi baka when the time comes, mapaanak ako sa daan ng di oras (her clinic and affiliated hospitals are all in Antipolo).

So I switched to my mom's and my sister's OB. Siya ang nagpaanak sa sister ko sa two babies niya and everything seems to have gone well. However, parang iba yung naging experience ko sa kanya. You see, I'm fat, but despite that, I've been doing well healthwise (no hypertension, no diabetes, no heart issues, none). Para kasing lahat na inassociate niya with my size.

Nagkaroon lang ako ng UTI, for which she recommended a course of antibiotics.

Ang pinagtataka ko lang, every time we visit her, she gets a high reading sa aking BP. Kaya ko nasabing nakakapagtaka kasi I have an SIL who's a nurse and I also have my own auto BP machine sa bahay to monitor my blood pressure. Ever since sinabi niya na may gestational hypertension ako, we've been monitoring my BP every day (one reading sa automatic, 2 manual readings sa spygmo). She also gave me Aldomet (Methyldopa) which is an anti-hypertensive med.

Sa araw-araw naming pagkuha ng BP ko, 110/70 and 120/80 lang ang range ng BP ko. Pero sa tuwing nagpapacheck kami sa kanya, same ang nakukuha niya na results (130/90 or 140/90). So when I told her this, nagpakuha sya ng BP ko sa may ward nurse. Funny thing is, same ang nakuha ng nurses sa nakuha ng SIL ko sa bahay (110/70). Pinakuha niya pa ulit kasi hindi daw sya kumbinsido. Same lang din ang nakuha.

Yung worst na naexperience ko with her was my last check up. We asked her a lot of things after niya ako kunan ng BP (which, as expected, gave the same results as she got the last time -- 140/90) and she declared that I had pre-eclampsia. Sabi ko sa kanya, is it possible for me to have this condition and not feel anything/not have any symptoms? The thing is, wala nga! Sinabi niya na I will have headaches and mamamaga daw yung face ko, manlalabo ang mata and eventually kumbulsyon. But I have experienced none of these.

She had recommended medicine for me and I was taking it religiously. Kahit yung prenatal vits ko (Obimin Plus) is supposed to be for women who had gestational hypertension. I've been sticking to a diet that's good for me and my baby. She said that I couldn't take long walks or exercise too much because I had low-lying placenta (Grade I lang naman and it will improve as my baby grows according to her), but I make sure that I am active and every week we take short walks sa UP para di masyadong maging mabigat ang katawan ko. So I asked her why, despite all of these, why do they not seem to help at all? Wala syang naisagot, kundi kasi nga daw mataba ako. Sabi niya rin na dagdagan yung dose ko ng Aldomet (from once to twice a day).

Sabi niya magpa-doppler velocimetry daw kami to see if the baby's umbilical cord was the right size kasi kung hindi daw, papaanakin niya na ako at 32 weeks kesa mamatay ang baby ko. Paguwi namin ni Hubby, hagulgol ako sa bahay kasi feeling ko ansama kong ina and my baby could die because I'm fat. Hay...

Ayan naghinga lang ng sama ng loob. I hope you could help me with any of the following:

1. Magkano ba yung doppler velocimetry and will it hurt?
2. Should I change OBs? I've found a good OB in the same hospital, but I wonder if I'll be breaking any rules and if it's a logical move since I'm already 6 months on the way.

Thank you in advance and I would really appreciate your advice regarding this situation. :)

^ di ko alam kung tama yung OB mo or super relaxed lang yung OB ko kasi ako madalas ding mag 130/90 or 140/90 usually sa afternoon.  pero hindi sya worried.

pwede pa din daw akong maging normal delivery sa panganganak ko at nakukuha daw kasi yun minsan sa gamut on the day itself.  no need to worry daw at basta continue ko lang ang BP monitoring ko.  pero di nya ko ni-declare na preeclampsia agad.

^ Thanks sa reply, sis. :)

Nalilito kasi ako out of 4 people (5, if we count in the auto BP machine), sya lang ang nakakakuha ng mataas na reading.

Ika-clarify ko nga sa kanya if she can definitely say na may pre-eclampsia ako (we're scheduled for another check up sa 1st weekend ng September). We're still waiting for the doppler velocimetry (ngayon palang kasing weekend makakapagpacheck dahil ayaw ni Hubby na di sya kasama).

Nagpa-doppler ka rin ba, sis?

mommyflick Don't change OB if it's inconvenient and uncomfortable to you. If I may suggest just look for another OB that can justify if you really have that problem, just to confirm.
For the baby's safety na rin naman, ask for other OB's opinion.

Since nag OGCT ako that day, di ako nakainom ng madaming water kasi di na pala pwede kumain at uminom after ng drink.

I had mine sa st. lukes last month at 3k plus ang binayaran namin.

Ang usapan namin ni Hubby, papa-DV muna tapos kung okay naman yung result, then maybe it's time to get a 2nd opinion from someone else.

Sis hun_nie08, nung first two check-ups namin, okay naman eh pero increasingly uncomfortable kasi parang lahat nga inassociate niya na with my size. I'm not the healthiest person, I admit, pero it's just very discomfiting that every answer I got from her had to do with my fatness. I've been fat almost my whole life, but my glucose levels (both pre-pregnancy and currently) and my BP (pre-pregnancy) have always been good, if not better than most. Mas maaappreciate ko sana kung sasabihin niya sakin yung iba pang posibleng dahilan that had nothing to do with my weight. In fairness to me, hindi naman drastic yung weight gain ko since nagbuntis ako. And with regards to you and your baby, I bet you're doing just fine. Puno lang tayo ng anxiety kasi it's not just us we're taking care of, it's that little life inside of us as well. Kapit lang tayo, sis.

Sis hakunamatata, thank you sa info about doppler velocimetry. Hindi siguro related, pero nung last UTZ ko at 20 weeks, adequate naman amniotic fluid niya and malaki nga daw sya for his "age". Ang nakita lang na iba is low-lying placenta posterior Grade I nga ako. When I asked my OB what it meant, sabi niya mababa daw yung inunan ko and that I should avoid strenuous exercise and long walks saka vigorous *ehem*. Pero sabi niya naman tataas pa yun as the baby grows. Ang sinabi niya lang about the DV, check nga yun width nung umbilical cord tapos kung mas maliit daw than two fingers, baka mapaaga ang delivery ko. Tinawanan niya lang kami tapos sabi niya gagawan daw niya ng paraan (what does that even mean?). Sayang nga kasi nagtatabi sana kami for 3d/4d e kaso with cost, lalo na kung biweekly gagawin, ifo-forego nalang namin yung 3d.

Sis ishopnowfeelguiltylater, nasa 4th floor nga din clinic nung OB namin, tapos medyo long walk from the parking lot papasok ng hospital. Tapos madalas din siyang late dumating (like 20-30 mins late) so di ko alam kung nakakaapekto yun sa aking BP. Like you, anxious din ako lagi pag nagpapacheck sa clinics/hospitals kasi ayoko ng amoy. Ang pinagtataka ko lang, bakit pati ward nurse same as us ang nakukuha at siya lang ang mataas? Nakalog din ang daily BP ko. Maybe I should also mention na when we went through our usual prenatal tests, may trace ng albumin (protein) sa wiwi ko, but I asked my OB before (Dra. Reyes) sabi niya na it's normal naman na may trace and minimal amount lang daw yun (yung sa sister ko din ganun when she had her prenatal urinalysis). E okay naman yung results sa liver and kidney ko, so hindi siya cause for too much worry at magrelax lang daw ako. Iba yung naging interpretation ni current OB dun sa aking trace results, proteinuria daw and indicative of pre-eclampsia. Hahaha...

Hi to all soon to be mommies!

My due date is on October 11 but until now I still haven't decided where I should give birth. My OB  kasi is only affiliated with 3 hospitals na hindi ako comfortable. I worked as nurse before and I want to give birth dun sa pinagtrabahuhan ko before. Another advantage of giving birth at my previous workplace, andun yung friend ko na neonatalogist who is very much willing to attend to my delivery.

Ang dliemma ko ngayon, should I change my OB so that I can give birth sa hospital na mas kampante ako (meron din akong kakilalang OB dun if ever. di lang ako nagpapacheck up dun sa kanya kasi medyo malayo compared sa clinic ng present OB ko) OR stick with my OB now pero would feel uneasy with the hospital facilities kung saan siya accredited...

I'm 34 weeks na this Saturday kaya dapat maka-decide na kami ni hubby... THANK YOU sa mga sasagot!

Hello Mommies,

May mga changes na ba sa inyo?

Ako lalong namaga specially feet and fingers ko.
Medyo kumikirot down there. Pag naglalakad or nakatayo. Feeling ko tuloy lalabas na sya! hahahaha.
baby is a bit active/hyper nitong mga nakaraang araw. Maghapon gising at nagwwrestling. Hahaha

34 weeks and 5 days today.

Due on October 5.

Mga sis, advisable ba bumili ng new shoes at 33 weeks? 1 sneakers and 1 plastic shoes (Native) na lang kasi kasya sa kin and they are in my old shoe size. Gusto ko sana bumili ng slippers/sandals na may support (Birks) and in my current size (half size or full size bigger than before). Di ko lang alam kung lalaki pa ba feet ko in the next 7 weeks.
