^ How many hours has it been since the milk thawed? Maybe you could try and taste it to see if it's safe to feed to your baby?

Regarding refreezing milk, here's a helpful link:

Hello mga sis! My baby girl is turning 2 months tomorrow and I have been exclusively breastfeeding her since she was 2 weeks old ( I was on Metronidazole for the 1st 2 weeks, hence, was unable to breastfeed her). Anyway, i pumped since day 1 to stimulate milk production and I have tried taking malunggay supplements (natalac and prolacta) to augment it. I was able to produce a maximum of 2-2.5 oz/per breast and have stopped taking any supplements. I have been eating lactation cookies and rolled oats regularly. For the past 2-3 days though, I noticed that i haven't been able to pump any milk at all, even in the morning. I do feel engorged (though not as before), but there seems to be poor milk let-down when i use my electric pump. I directly feed my baby every 2-3 hrs but I'm trying to build my milk stash for her since I'm back to work na this june. What can i do kaya? any reco? is life oil effective? tia!

Why not try feeding baby on one boob then pump the other one? Baka kasi nasisimot ni baby yung milk.

Hi mommies! My baby is already 15mos old and we are still directly breastfeeding. So happy about it kaso recently my mom, aunts (who are all veteran nurses by the way) and lola thinks that i am too skinny to bf 😞 wala na daw sustansya milk ko. i have indeed lost weight since i gave birth kahit na wala akong pigil sa kain. Pero when i consulted Johann's pedia about it sabi niya wag. Kasi although payat ako di naman ako matamlay o sickly so my milk should still be okay for baby daw. Or how did you girls maintain your health. I don't want to give up breastfeeding yet.

Any suggestions? Help please. TIA

^hi sis. I,too, lost weight during the 1st 2 months postpartum, but only up to my pre-pregnancy weight. I have always been slim. Even during my pregnancy, tiyan ko lang ata lumaki, hehe. Anyway, the composition of your breastmilk has nothing to do with your weight. it will always be perfect, ika nga, but if you're not getting enough nutrients, your body will suffer because the nutrients will be diverted into making breastmilk. We need an additional 500calories while breastfeeding so make sure you eat an adequate, balanced diet everyday.

^actually for the longest time before i got pregnant i was just around 100lbs or less. then natuwa ako when i reached 110lbs. a few months after that i got pregnant. right now am at 100lbs but my aunt still thinks i'm skinny. you know how people are in the US most of them have bigger builts than we do kaya siguro hindi sila sanay sa akin. hehe i do it a lot naman and i try to have a healthy diet naman as much as i can medyo mabilis lang talaga ang metabolism ko. anong milk iniinum ninyo? baka kulang pa ang fresh milk hehe

hi sisses!  to working moms who pumps, ask ko lang po sana how many bottles yung dala nyo to work for an entire day's worth of use for pumping while in the office.

this is my first time to use medela PISA kasi and it includes 4 pcs of 5oz bottles.  hindi ko po sure ilang add'l bottles pa ang need ko dalhin.

PS. i used to use medela swing and before 3 pcs na 9oz bottle lang ang dala ko. the 9oz bottles that i have back then we regular neck gerber bottles na compatible naman sa medela. i use 1 bottle per pumping session (2 breasts) tapos mga 3x a day ako mag-pump noon.

Nabasa ko kasi kailangan i cupfeed para maiwasan and no to pacifier. Im a working mother so asa byenan ko buong araw si baby.

How old na baby mo?

hi. I'm a first time mom at mag 1 month pa lang si baby. minsan natatakot ako baka maover feeding ko na si baby, grabe tagal nya mag dede..gusto nya laging dede. minsan nagkakadansuka na (onti lang naman)..pero sabi nung taga hilot ko, normal naman daw yun, pero nag woworry pa din ako..pagbalik ko sa work, mag baon ako ng breast pump kahit sa CR ko na lang gawin..sayang lang, wala kame ref, pra maitago ko yung agtas..so, no choice ako kundi itapon ang gatas..super sayang..matagal ba talaga sila mabusog? nag papa burp ako, pero minsan ayaw..good thing nag fa-fart naman siya..

^ A newborn takes a long time to feed kasi may process. There is such a thing as a letdown.  Please look it up.

Breastmilk is easily digested kaya maya't maya nagugutom ang baby.

Re expressed milk - please buy Fridge-to-go or a similar product so you will not pump and dump.  Sayang ang milk!

^^sis bili ka nalang ng cooling pack for expressed milk para you can bring it home to your baby.

six months na si baby next week, yey!  excited coz he's going to start eating solids na.  Last week, I tried to count calories (to lose weight) pero napansin ko nagddwindle ang milk supply ko kaya I let it go na.... tsaka na muna ang paglolose ng weight pagtapos na si baby magbreastfeed.

At long last, nabasa ko uli ang thread na ito.. When I was still pregnant am always updated cause my goal is to BF exclusively...my baby just turned 5 months and since delivery ay wala na ako oras para mag-back read ..solo lang kasi ako sa bahay the whole day, so ubos lahat ng oras sa baby.

..Am very frustrated talaga cause am mixed feeding. Several minutes right after delivery they fed formula to my baby so that they can test her blood sugar since I am diabetic. My baby was only latched to me 20 hrs post CS. Though she has good sucking ability, there was still not enough breastmilk because she would end up crying. Stayed 4 days in the hospital, panay latch pa rin kaso ang ending ay iyakan kaya we allowed the nursery to give her formula.

Pag-uwi sa bahay todo latch naman sya pero ganoon pa rin todo iyak as in pulang pula at minsan itim pa nga kasi mataas hemoglobin nya at birth..No choice kami but to feed formula at the same time pero mas marami ito kesa breastmilk cause I have low milk supply.

I 1st tried to pump at 8 weeks, tama ba ito or was I late na? Am direct feeding, do I still need to pump? From what I know, constant latching stimulates BM production but in my case it is not happening.

I greatly appreciate all your inputs.
