Hi po. Ask ko lang sa mga breastfeeding moms like me na nag-papump. Isa lang kasi ref namin sa bahay, okay lang ba na istore yung freshly pumped milk sa fridge kung san may mga ibang nakalagay? Di ba siya ma-sspoil agad?

^^ Good old masking tape and pentel pen will do.  I never used special labels.

^ Make sure to use the refrigerated breastmilk within 7 days.  It easily spoils if you do not freeze it.  If you plan on storing milk for months, invest in a fridge with a separate freezer.

^^thanks,yan talaga balak kong gamitin nung una pero nung nagbbrowse ako dun sa isang breastfeeding shop,may mga special labels sila kaya i assumed the regular masking tape won't work.pwede pala.

Any recommendation sa insulated bag?plan ko sana doon na din ilagay ang pump.manual lang naman gamit ko.meron ako regular insulated bag dito pero di ako happy sa pagretain ng lamig.

^ i used a regular insulated bag before, nilalagyan ko lang ng ice packs.

After 10 months usage, I finally had my Freestyle pump cleaned. I didn't know kasi na it needs to be cleaned every 3-6 months.

ako I recently switched from bm sterilized bags to avent cups na reusable.... nung nagbasa ko ng mga reviews they use pencil tapos eraser, I tried and it works naman, I use pencil tapos pag wash I use eraser to remove the previous date.  Pero I guess mas madali nga pala yung masking tape permanent marker combo noh... I think I'll switch to that.

Hi sisses talaga bang no-no ang pacifiers for breastfed babies? What if they resort to thumbsucking?  Mas okay ba yun?

@purple_girl - may ice packs din akong gamit pero siguro mga 4hrs lang narretain yung lamig.gusto ko sana matagal-tagal para magamit din in case magbrownout

Question again.paano strategy ginawa nyo nung malapit na kayo bumalik sa trabaho?napansin ko yung little girl ko,sandali lang ako di makita iyak ng iyak.i think may connection sa breastfeeding kasi may kilala ako na breastfed din ang anak,nahirapan din magadjust ang bata.older kids namin na formula fed,not much issue nung bumalik na sa work.

^ It's normal for babies (and moms) to develop attachment issues.  I don't think there is much of a difference between a breastfed baby vis-à-vis a formula-fed baby in that respect.  When giving a bottle of expressed breastmilk to your baby, have his daddy or lola or yaya give it.  Make sure that you spend quality time with your baby when you go home.  Ako dati, kahit mahirap, I nursed all night.  I was a walking zombie pretty much during my twins' first year.

^nako sis marose ganyan ako ngayon parang zombie sa umaga kasi I nurse all night but pag nagsmile na ang little one sayo ok na LOL!

^^sis napansin ko parang hirap magbottle feed ang baby ko pag ako ang nagbibigay sa kanya, ewan ko lang kung guni guni ko lang yun pero parang pag bottle tapos ako magbibigay parang hindi sya agad nagssuck dun sa teat.  before I went back to the office nagpractice na kami ni yaya, iiwan ko muna sila 1 days mga 3 hours tapos susunod na day 4 hours ganon hanggang masanay sila sa isa't isa so pagbalik ko sa office medyo manageable na.

my baby is 8 weeks old and ebf kami.    gusto ko ituloy hanggang 2 years old siya. I'm already taking malunggay capsules para issuplement ang milk production pero grabe minsan na-drain talaga ni baby yung milk ko kaya kahit na 3 hours after last feeding, 1 oz lang nakukuha through pumping. Any other tips to increase my milk supply?

Ask ko rin, Taking into consideration na summer ngayon at oven-hot sa manila, kapag nasa refrigerator lang nakastore ang milk, hanggang ilang days tatagal? Sa breastfeeding brochure kasi na nabasa ko, 2-3 days lang.

I've also read na habang tumatagal sa pagkaka-store yung milk nababawasan yung nutrients na nasa bmilk. Is this true?

I read somewhere na hindi daw maganda ang tubo ng teeth pag laging nakapacifier. My baby used to thumbsuck pero he outgrew it (he's now 1 year old). When he was thumbsucking before, I just made sure his hands were always clean.

I agree with marose17. Have someone else (hubby, yaya, your mom, ILs) give the bottle of expressed milk to baby but still direct feed him when you get home.  Share ko lang, my baby refuses to drink from his bottle when I arrive home from work. He made the connection that latching = bonding with mommy you could avoid bottle preference rin this way

@trishevil - nabasa ko naman up to 1week basta sa likod part ng ref ilalagay.ano na ba talaga?

^I really don't know either. hehe Ginagawa ko na lang dapat hanggang three days lang just to be safe. Siguro kapag rainy season na pwede na ng up to one week. At least mas cooler na kesa ngayon na napakainit pa.

For thawed milk, you can keep it in the fridge for only 24 hours.

For EBF mommies who co-sleeps with their babies, how do you protect your mattress from accidental leaks/wiwi? Okay na ba yung rubber pads? or merong specialized waterproof covers? TIA!

May nakakainis na discovery ako.may nagauto defrost ng ref namin.tapon ko na ba yung gatas sa ref?wala akong nakaready na icepacks kaya no use maginsulated bag.
