^I suggest yung kateam mo lang invite mo unless close mo yung ibang nakakawork mo :) then yung sa group invite, kung kaya mo indicate yung names sa envelope then sa rsvp yung same count ng names lang ilagay mo :) Tapos dun sa naginvite din sa iyo sa wedding niya, friend mo ba siya? If not maybe you could include her nalang sa group invite :)

Wala naman requirement to return favor if someone invites you to their wedding so it's up to you.

Plus ones - anyone in a relationship should get a plus one.

^I agree. In my case, kaclose ko naman yung mga officemates ko, so they are all invited. Hehe And plus one nga those who have partners - but this is something that you may opt to confirm from the attendees (if they will be tagging their partners along)
Not necessarily that because you have been invited sa wedding ng friend mo na hindi mo kaclose eh you have to invite na them also just to 'return the favor'. Esp. if the number of your guest is very limited.

Gusto ko I can remember every single person who came to our wedding.

Original na target ko for our wedding was 50 person. I think closer to 75 ang guests. We have 150 invited pero most of that is courtesy invites, like invitation for elders (brothers and sisters ng grandparents) that we know will not make it.

^Mas ok yun sis, Im thinking of to skip or alter the program to make it more intimate. Hindi ko palang naiisip paano. Wala pa ako time. Hehe

I agree!

We also wanted an intimate wedding and set a goal na 50-70 pax. The only reason why we're adjusting it to 100 is because the standard package from the caterer should be at 100 pax. So even if we only have 70 guests, we'll still pay for a 100. Sayang naman, so sige, 100 na. :P

The challenge mostly is telling our parents, "No, we are not inviting all our relatives. We will only invite so and so..."

Not an easy feat but what helped was the fact that we are paying for the wedding. They just settled to inviting the rest of the relatives on a separate celebration for the family.

Kami rin mukhang mas marami friends than relatives!

But we wanted kasi na the guests will really be those who are close to us. Most of the relatives the parents wanted to invite are not really close to us and we will just invite out of courtesy. We don't want naman to say hi and hello lang. When you have close ties with the guests, you worry lesser if they'll finish the program or not. It becomes easier to mention rin, for one, that the number of seats reserved are strictly to be followed.

pinkonearth pareho tayo. that's what we did din especially for the h2b side na sobrang dami ng relatives. So per family, we only alloted X number of guests lang. Since we're also solely paying for our own wedding, the parents respected our decision :)

now we're on our rsvp stage... expect niyo din pala na few people will privately ask you if they can bring their plus one. a few of our guests just did.

^ Same, for the relatives that are not too close I indicated number attending. Usually 4 lang. In those cases, kasi all I wanted to invite are my grandparent's siblings. Di na yung mga anak nila or apo. Pero considering they are old and cannot travel on their own, we added 2 more as travelling companion.

I will be putting that our event is strictly for adult. The reason why we had it over our control is to limit the guest din. As for RSVP i will advise the coordinators to strictly implement our guest list, without the name on the guest list they must approached us and confirm.

I think this is the hardest part for me. I can't wrap myself around the idea of uninviting some relatives, and initiating an adult only guest list. I just want to avoid the nega vibes ng gossip when they found out na di sila invited, mostly relatives lang naman iniisip ko. Sa friends or co-workers, not issue at all, malamang di din naman lahat makapunta since it's a Tuesday and Tagaytay pa.

Sa cousin ko kasi, may rule sya na 2 per family, super dami namin relatives na sumama loob or may sinabing nega behind her back. I don't want to experience that.

I hope in almost 6 mos magkaron ako ng heart gawin yan. If not, magaadjust talaga kami ng no. of guests.  :-X

I also wanted an intimate wedding. Around 100 pax [textspeak!] sana. But the package includes 200 na. Hirap nko mag add. Mostly high school, college friends and relatives lang. Gusto ko sana either people who we know for a very long time or someone na may role sa relationship namin. Most probably sa part ni h2b mag fill in to make it 200 pax. Mas extrovert din kasi sya than me. Hihi 😊

Sis relatives is also my problem. hahaha. But I will invite relatives within the 2nd degree. And 3 seats lang max ang allotted. I have thought about what they would feel pero ayoko naman na maging family reunion and fiesta yung kasal ko.
You can also have a post wedding dinner nalang for the relatives who you weren't able to invite.

Sis if you can't say na adult party, provide nalang kids meal. Chickenjoy and spag lang masaya na kids. hehe. I'm planning to have my caterer provide 10-15 kids meals because I don't want to include them sa per head kasi mahal tapos katiting lang naman kakainin nila.

^Ms_JanDel,

Who will buy Chickenjoy meals and when will they buy it? Delivery na lang ba? My caterer has a minimum of 10 kiddie meals and I fear I won't reach the quota.

Hi girls, actually hinde kasama ang kids sa no. of guests ko as per our Caterer, Elementary level and below, free sila kung tutuusin. But I have to provide the exact guest list, maski bata, yun lang di sila kasama sa 150 pax na bilang. Yes, very generous of our Caterer, yun din ang feedback sakanila, they won't tell their Clients upfront pero they prepare foods maski sa crew mo. I heard, if you avail a package for 150 guests, they will prepare at least for 200 persons. Usually madami pa daw nauuwe yung bride and groom and ready sila ibalot.  ;D

I saw one review sa FB, na there's this one incident na ang couple ay naxpect na wala pupunta masyado so ang kinuha ata na package is 150, to their surprise umabot ng 200 ang nagpunta, super happy sila na nagkasya food, di sila chinarge afterwards.

Most of my Suppliers are these kind of people, I mean yes, K by Cunanan and so many others extablished Caterers are superb, pero we opted for those na may personal touch and makakausap namin like our Kapitbahay na di kami maiilang magrequest or mahiya kapag may hassle. Or icharge kami sa kung ano lang. They own the events place as well, walang corkage sa liquor, the whole day namin pwede gamitin yung venue, one event per day sila.

Anyways, medyo off the topic na. Sorry.  ;D

Hi Sisters actually 1 month palang kami sa wedding preps, we already booked our venue and caterer.
And yesterday we made partial guestlist. Shocks! ang sakit sa ulo, a lot of things to consider. It isn't final yet. Wala pa kaming PS, entourage list. pero abot na ng almost 120 yung nalista namin not compelete pa doon yung PS and plus 1 nila and yung ibang entourage. Nakakaloka. I am done backreading the whole thread and iba iba ang point of view.

1. Kapag ang guest ay may asawa automatic invited ang isa, out of courtesy nalang even hindi mo kaclose, or pwede ring hindi na kung budget wedding right. Eh what if dalhin pa ang kiddo dahil walang magbabantay, still invite pa din ang asawa?, (ayaw ko ng kids sa wedding namin, para wala masyado, maingay at magulo. lol. )
2. yung mga PS need ba na may plus 1 lahat? if that's the case, sobrang lalaki ang guestlist namin, kasi we are planning to have 8 pairs eh, and if may dala sila plus 1 tapos walang kakilala sa ibang table, need ba nasa VIP table din sila..knowing na limited lang din yung VIP table, 20 seats lang including parents,
4. If may bata, kiddie meal nalang sila diba, so kung wala provide ang caterer, we can just order sa fast food, eh saan sila uupo? kalong ng parents,, if wala high chair or kiddie table si caterer, so malamang masasakop nila isang upuan.
5. I have college friends na invite sa wedding namin, same circle of friends, pero ayaw ko invite yung iba dahil hindi naman ganoon kaclose and parang may gap noon pa pero naayos din naman, pero parang ayaw ko lang na mas gusto ko pa iconsider yung iba. okay lang kaya yun, anyways etong mga taong to eh close din dun sa iinvite ko, so malamang malalaman nila di sila invited.

Ang laki ng problema ko sa guestlist na ito, akala ko madali lang susko, hahaha. our venue's capacity is up to 200 lang, as of now 150 ang commitment namin kay caterer, ayoko na magballoon pa yun,, kakastress ito, and oo nga pala wala kami sit down talk with our parents kung sino gusto nila invite, huhu as of now 120 guest na kami, hindi pa complete ang entourage don at PS

^share ko lang based on our experience. we only had 150 guests.

1. we stated on the invite na it was an adults only kind of day. that the kids i'm only expecting to see are the flower girls and bearers. we also told the rsvp in charge about this, para during rsvp stage pa lang, they will be able to control this in case may intention si guest. on the actual day, sumunod naman, walang nag dala ng kids.

2. we had 6 pairs of PS and made sure their plus 1's were seated beside them. otherwise, baka mainip lang sila dahil walang kausap and umalis agad.

4. kung ano yung food ng guests, yun din ang kinain ng kids. mas simple, we didn't need to think about kiddie meals. our buffet menu was not so complicated kaya im sure nakakain naman sila.

5. coz we only have max 150 guests, we had to accept the fact hindi lahat maiimbita sa wedding. Like for my husband's side, since he has so many relatives, X number lang per family. Sa friends, yung close friends namin. i have to admit, ito yung mahirap na part - pag narrow down ng friends na aattend. mindset na lang na its our wedding and decision namin as a couple yung importante. eventually i stopped thinking kung may magtatampo or what, nakakadagdag stress lang samin.

hope this helps! despite all the concerns and stress, dont forget to enjoy the preps sis :)
