Something Pretty Manila (SPM)

To all the brides to be who signed up with SPM, please share your experiences in order to help others with their future events.

My experience with her has been really great so far. She is super nice and accommodating with my requests. She sent me mood boards which is a plus for me kasi I don't have to look for pictures pa on the net, just tell her what theme you like and she'll be able to help you with that. We are happy that we got her. ;D

hi, sis, would you mind sharing the range of her rates? my venue is in Fernbrook kasi, I'm not really sure if I need an event stylist pa since maganda naman na yung place pero knowing Hizon's not so bongga na setup, I'm considering to hire a stylist na talaga depende kung pwede ko pa maisingit sa budget.

sis em-em31 i believe her starting rate is 25k but can be lower depende sa styling & theme na gusto mo. may mga nakita kasi ako na she quoted 8k lang but I think minimal lang yung styling nung sa kanya. have you checked her website and facebook page na? i think it's better if you email her directly para you can tell her what areas you would like styled.

sis kiracharlie she's getting busier na din ata pero try emailing her or better yet pm mo sya sa fb page nya.

Hi sis em-em321, Have you tried KbyC? Pero kung kasama n sya sa catering mo at konting-konting add on na lang to have it the way you want (from what I heard), at least tipid na sa stylist at pwede kapa mag singgit ng ibang supplier na mas needed like extra band aside from the string. Just a suggestion.  :)

Hello sissies! :) I inquired SPM for prenup styling. We talked Jan 24 night to discuss our themes and sabi niya just give her a week to do mood board.. She even said wala ng OOT fee kapag Sierra Madre Resort (Rizal) ang prenup tapos pag Pinto Art Gallery daw 1k gas allowance nalang.. Kaya naexcite ako lalo kasi bait niya at maayos naman yung paguusap namin.

Initially she quoted me 8k for 3 themes setup (Picnic setup, UP themed setting, Tree Setting) includes DIY props & floral crown..

Maganda naman yung moodboard/ideas niya but looking at the list of props and DIYs, for me hindi siya worth 8k so tinawaran ko pumayag naman siya 6k nalang.

Sabi ko, I thought you said wala nang OOT fee kapag Sierra Madre.

sis jen_rose27, sige will contact her sa fb page nya. :) thanks ah.

Hi switan9el, I have the same experience like you. Mabait si ms. Melanie sa FB, she was referred by Simple Pretty, by ms. Camille, since ms. Camille hindi niya forte yung services na need ko, which naging honest siya talaga, kaya she recommend SPM.

Ms. Melanie, respond agad sa FB. During our first conversation, I lay down cards ko sa kanya, my budget is 5k only, 3 days and event, I will rent lang gamit niya, and open pa ba siya sa date na iyon. She told me ok yung date, and ok siya sa set up. So we exchange ideas working on the budget of 5k. I offered din na if we can work things out, we ca be partner sa new business ko and regular client niya ako. After long conversation tru FB, we decided to meet to formalize the project. So nagkita kami kasama niya partner-husband niya. So ms. melanie naman was giving alot of ideas, which are all nice and very creative, I salute her sa artistic nature niya.

End ng meeting namin sabi ko done deal na, kaya pay na ako 50% downpayment, after 3 days niya give ang lay out. At around 8-9pm , same day, tumatawag siya sa mobile phone then na miss ko yung call so I return the call. To my suprise, yung husband niya kausap ko (sa haba ng exchange of messages namin siya lang kausap ko (wife), sabi niya, na overlook daw ni ms. Melanie ang date sa paghiram ng gamit. Kasi mayroon daw silang prenup saturday morning and the panel will be used. Sa haba haba ng araw bago kami magkita at confirm pa niya meeting namin, day before, hindi niya ako na inform, na may over booking. So okay, since I am also a supplier, nagpositive thinking na lang ako sa sagot ko. Melanie, marami siyang resources to execute the plan. Para ako naman not expecting and hindi kami nag sayang ng energy and time to meet pa. Nakalimutan daw add ang transportation, manpower at iba iba pa. Nandoon si husband sa meeting namin eh, sana nakita na kami nagkakaroon ng transaction, or mag end na lang yung meeting namin, puwede naman agad sabihin na mag iba pricing nila kasi ang gusto kong mangyari na iba na sa original na peg na bigay ko so we can work it out....which I usually discuss to my clients or conversation pa lang sa email or FB, I give them ano puwede maging additional cost. To add I'm having migraine so I keep my composure pa rin sa phone kaya end ko na phone conversation.

Noong nasa meeting kami, sabi ni ms. melanie, kasama niya muscle man niya sa business or partner niya. Siya yung sa logistics and etc, so okay lang sa akin, since I was expecting kung sino kausap ko siya lang contact sa akin and to derive a solution/s. I also have partner in my business, but never siyang ng front or sumali sa usapan, we work things out first before we come up with pricing and gustong mangyari ng client para we can price accordingly, hindi yung in the middle of project bilang magbabago.

So next day, tinawagan ko phone nila, 2 set of rings then off nila phone nila. Sabi ko sa sarili ko ah, baka may ginagawa kaya sila or return call sila during lunch break, since naka register naman name ko sa phone nila, no call until 4pm, so I called, nag ring pero hindi pa rin sinasagot then off ang cell phone, so around 5-6pm, I called ms. Camille, and she help me contact ms. Melania Kasi noong morning na iyon, I send sa message sa FB nila na if we can't work things out balik na lang yung 2.5k tru bank, then I express din yung disappointment ko sa kanila, but they did not replied immediately pero before instant ang sagot sa messages ko. Ms. Camille din told me naka online siya lagi.

Tru ms. Camille, nag respond si ms. Melanie sa FB ko agad and state kung bakit hindi puwede 5k, at 10k dapat due to miscalculations and overlook ang date of event. Monday deposit daw nila yung money. Balitaan ko na lang kayo sa pagbalik.

Nine years na ako sa business, worked with different suppliers, inspire my clients to start a business than relay sa monthly pay check, guide and give pa kami ng mga recommendations if our clients need other things beside our product.

Partners sila tapos nagsisisihan sila?
That is not a good sign of partnership.  Tska since stylist sila they should be more resourceful to provide what client needs most importantly what they've already committed.

Hi sissies!

Hi, girls.

Meron ba sa inyo recent SPM brides? How are they to work with? Are they now more consistent with their dealings? Kasi pasok sila sa budget namin; however, parang maraming negative feedbacks kasi sa manila.

Thank you in advance. :)

Same here--- looking for recent reviews of SPM on the actual wedding day. Within budget sya although im concerned sa reviews on her.

She clearly has bad reviews here in FN and very mixed reviews naman on W@W, but there are consistencies, na magulo sya kausap, minsan late pa and nagpapalit ng sinabi.

I don't want to book a supplier na hit or miss, so will wait for reviews.... thanks in advance!

Just wanted to share feedback from a sis who pm-ed me regarding my post here. I wont name her kasi baka ayaw nya kaya di nya pinost, but i feel that her feedback would be helpful to the rest of us looking for feedback. Thanks sis you know who you are.

"Hi :) if u want a hassle free wedding day, i suggest  dont get SPM's services. Been their client just recently and grabe sobrang disappointed kami sa outcome. The mood boards that she sent us were so layo sa style na ginawa nila sa venue. They were late during the event kaya di nila natapos [textspeak!] pagstyle sa venue. At first ok sila kausap but then biglang magiiba sa mismong event.

Just a friendly advice... :)"

Whew... the different reviews make my decision making harder. Hehe. But I appreciate everyone's inputs! I like SPM's works (based on photos that I see) but the bad customer service is really a big thing.

^I'm sharing her second reply (via pm) about the same wedding. I think she made pretty clear na naman kung ano yung naging issue... did not fulfill agreed moodboards and expectations. Which is a really bad thing, esp if your styling budget is 100k and it didn't even look 100k. So sad for her :( Quite happy I didn't book Melanie after all. She quoted me 100k too. Ang taga pala nya if ever.

"Yes, at first mabait talaga sya as in super nice. Na sa lahat may suggestions sya. Kaya nga sobrang nadisappoint kami ni hubby nung wedding day na. Kase di talaga nila nagawa [textspeak!] pinagusapan namin. Di lang kami ang nakapuna ha, most of our gueats napansin.. Di naman kami mahirap kausapin when it comes sa payment, we paid them according sa terms of payment nila na dapat a week before the event e fully paid na kami plus security deposit pa ha. Imagine, 100k plus binayad pro mukang wala pa atang 50k [textspeak!] kinalabasan. Ang tagal pa ibalik sec dep! Sana nag dangwa nalang kami. hehe Buti nalang the venue is quite nice na even though napakaminimal lang ng nilagay nilang props and designs, kaya sa photos e naging ok na kaso beyond disappointment lang talaga nafeel namin sa outcome."

I agree with the previous comment.  Don't get them! I was one of their brides and iba talaga yung nasa mood board at sa actual wedding!

sis em-em321, I think since you're having Fenrbrooke as venue, you can just get K by Cunanan (caterer( because they are accredited there and they have good styling as well :)

They handed us a flyer, then yung assistant na nag abot samin ng flyer i was asking her about the rates, so they have this laminated copy of the rates na ineexplain nya samin. Nakatingin kami sa rates then biglang kinuha nung Guy owner yung rates without saying excuse me or for awhile lang hiramin niya, he just suddenly grabbed the rate sheet while we were looking at it at nagtuturo pako from the list. Then he suddenly entertained yung mga dumating na bago sa booth. Natahimik yung assistant and said sorry. Fiance said ang bastos naman kaya wag nalang dito.
