It makes you feel special.

For me it's a bunch of bull, yung dahilan na malungkot magtrabaho overseas at malayo sa pamilya. Dahil ba malungkot, magiging selfish ka na? I mean, ikaw lang ba nalulungkot or nahihirapan?

Imo, eh natutuwa ka sa new found freedom mo, na tipong na discover mo na you can do whatever you want because you will never get caught. No one will know so you can get away with it. It's the thrill and excitement of doing something so wrong and you're good at it. Tsaka naisip mo din na if ever you do get caught, you don't care about the consequences anymore kasi you've already built a new life away from the people that you left behind. Feeling mo hindi ka na masyadong maapektuhan ng consequences, kasi malayo ka naman at iba na ang mundo mo at madali sayo na mag move on and start over.

@minabey pero kasi regardless of what situation they are in LDR man yan sa family nila or kasama sa work or nakilala sa chat. The initiative, the motive and the act itself is a sin, and can cause huge damage to both parties. Mas lalo sa mga bata.

Agree with @khaleesiCersei sabi nga ni Xandra Ooi.. persons who lies or betrays someone they love are signs of insecurities and full of self issues. So kelangan mo ayusin sarili mo, ikaw mismo ang my problema, yung moral values mo pairalin mo naman..alamin mo yang problema mo hindi yung nagdedepend ka sa short time pleasures and attention at nanakit ka na emotionally ng mga ibang tao.

Most Pinoys din are brought up na 'palaging may kasama'. They feel full of confidence basta may kasama. And having extra marital affairs eh parang extension nanga ng buhay Pinoy. Ang kaibahan lang nga is whether you fall to be the victim (wife or anak ka) or you're the doer. Or siguro pinakamaswerte ka na if you just happen to be a relative or Friend of either of them.

Maybe it's just me. Three years after being separated saka ako nag-date. And that is when I am sure my ex was already having a relationship and when I decided I was gonna divorce my husband. It just really boils down to your values. Ang suma total lang talaga dyan, accepted sa atin ang pangagaliwa regardless of the gender. And it's really sad.

I'm not condoning affairs pero I get Kittycat's situation. Yung isang couple that I know, very religious pa yung babae kaya di ko expected na hahayaan nya mag-level up yung friendship nya sa isang housemate namin na married den kagaya nya, both with kids, pero that's the reality.

I beg to disagree. People like this don't think. Don't have a sense of personal space.
You see, these things don't just happen overnight. It is a series of conscious decision, lalabas kayo, mag uusap kayo, magtatabi kayo, etc.

Deadma na lang kami sa flat noon kasi it wasn't our place to judge. They're both really nice people and they provide for their respective families at hindi sila garapal, lowkey lang.

Of course deadma lang kayo because di kayo affected. I bet if anyone of your housemates is the Husband/Wife, your reaction would not be that cool.

And this is the other factor why extra marital affairs are rampant in Manila, sa mga call Centers, etc. Yung mga officemates mismo ang nanunukso, Sabay pa sila gumimik/lumabas  with the erring couple. As for the relatives, ganun din.

It's so easy to say to yourself, "That's not going to happen to me," but until you get there, away from home, these people will be your family. Akala mo close lang kayo and then boom, may feelings na pala. Kahit na andami nating channels of communication, iba pa den yung nakakasama mo talaga.

I don't think anyone can say this event can never happen to me. But people are just saying they Won't allow themselves to be a Mistress. Kaya nga tayo tao, binigyan tayo ng kakayahan mag isip at gumawa ng decision based on anong tama.

Sis, Kittycats, good luck sa yo. Whatever your plan is for the future, I hope you don't lose everything you're working for.

If kittycats happen to be the Mistress of your hubby or gf of your current bf, I bet your message won't be like this.

Sis kvandenhaak, good for you, kahit papaano you're independent. But got your point, nasa morals din nga, kung gaano ka strong Yung kapit mo. Halos pareho pala tayo, I'm also abroad, alone with 2 kids in tow.  I was separated for 4 years and annulled for 2 years when I realised I need some adult company. Pero di naman ako mamamatay kung wala. Basta alam Kong married, or likely may gf or parang may asawa, total iwas ako talaga. di lang nga iwas, run!

Yep Right! I think na tinatry ng iba na intindihin yung mga mistresses like kittycats pero pagbalik baliktarin man natin ang mundo. Isang malaking pagkakamali ang pagiging kabit o pangangaliwa. It's out of moral values ng isang tao. 1 is to 1 kung baga. Ang aso nakikipag do sa ibat ibang aso basta may urge. So saan sila nyan.. tao ba o hayop? Harsh but true!

May live in partner wants to marry me pag balik ko ng pinas.

Everyone is different. Good for you that have a stronger moral fiber but for others, it's not at easy I guess.

I almost went down that path because I thought I was forging new platonic friendships. Buti na lang I shared everything with my then BF (now hubby) who I was hanging out with etc. He pointed out he didn't feel comfortable with me in some situations I told him about and I insisted it was nothing.

We had some disagreements but then I realized, I was starting to leave out some details about my day that I knew he would be angry about.

I lost a friend because of this. Happy family, 3 kids. Naging close lang si girl sa ka-department ni hubby dahil nagcoconfide yung guy about his unhappy married life, na inggit sya sa family ni bff. A few weeks on, sinasama ako mag lunch. Never na ako sumama sa kanila pag nagyaya sila mag lunch out. Feeling cover lang nila ako. I confronted her about it and we had a serious talk.

One day, she told me she was going to meet him to talk and tell him to end this. Sabi pa nya sa kin wala na yun after that. Well, waley. Naging close pa sila lalo. What pained me was that I know the hubby. He was one of the nicest guy, good looking, tall, smart, friendly. I've been to their house lots of times. Inaanak ko yung isang kid. I looked up to them as an ideal family talaga. The other guy even gave her an expensive ring that she wears only in the office and takes off before she leaves and wears the smaller ring (same design!) that her husband gave her.

So ayun, di ko ma-take and I distanced myself from her since then and soon after, we both left the company and went our separate ways.  How she explained it to me, she said she was strong but she's weak inside? Anyway, the guy emigrated abroad so I would venture to say the husband never found out about the affair because they're still together.

If kittycats happen to be the Mistress of your hubby or gf of your current bf, I bet your message won't be like this.

Nah. If my hubby doesn't want me anymore, she can have him. I'm not one to make habol anyway. Kung ayaw mo, wag mo. If kittycats wants to be the other family and it's okay for her to complicate her life and her kids' lives, that's her decision. It's totally wrong in every sense but then maybe it's worth it for her. I don't think the opinions of a bunch of strangers on the internet would change her mind about things anyway.

This. Awareness of how one should behave towards the opposite sex.
And come to think of it, all these affairs start innocently naman eh. Kaso nga once you start getting too close emotionally (ie confiding) or lagi magkasama, things can be messy.
Kaya siguro wala akong close friends na guy, if ever meron, kasi ka-close ko rin gf/Wife nya at never na Kami lang Nagh hangout or lumalabas.

And also, ang mga Pinoy iisahan ka rin kung maiisahan (lol...here I go again!) Iba-iba rin kasi ang tao. For people like me, this is one of the lines I can't cross. And for those who will say na madaling magsalita if you haven't been in the position. I was in that position before. I was seeing a guy who I found out that there's another girl. I like the guy a lot and I ended up burning the bridge or I will be tempted to cross it. It was very tempting to not say anything especially he is a willing partner in crime.

Re: OFW

If only two or three OFWs lang ang nangaliwa (chronic cheater exempted), then probably something is amiss in their characters, selfish kumbaga. However, if it's pretty common and maybe there's statistics for that, hindi kaya the LDR couples are going against a basic human/couple need, that is intimacy? Kaya nga sila in a relationship at nagpakasal dahil they wanted to be intimate. Putting physical distance for a long period between a couple is automatically putting the relationship at risk.

For me, if I will be allowing this to happen in my own marriage, we will be gambling. However, most couples are unaware that they are gambling in search for a better economic life. Either you win or lose, it's a given.

If you're the partner who was cheated on by an OFW partner, it is undoubtedly traumatizing.

I wonder how siya nagdarasal for me, cause after church lagi niya sinasabi sa akin na hindi ako nawawala sa panalangin niya.

True.

More so to my parents, relatives and society.
At tsaka, bakit ako magmamahal ng isang tar*ntado?
My love is precious. Di ako magmamahal ng taong di nya deserve! Period. Kahit mamatay pa sya, tulungan ko pa sya if hirap sya magpakamatay! Mga bwiset na nilalang!

I feel for you, Kittycats. I truly do. I posted here some time ago about my experiences as a mistress. Mahirap sya. I felt every single thing you're feeling now. Na mahal nya ako, na he takes care of me, that we have love and happiness. You wouldn't be staying in that relationship if you didn't feel that. But believe me when I say you will never be TRULY happy in that situation. You will have moments of happiness, to be sure, but not the kind of happiness that comes when you are at peace. I know it's hard, especially in your situation, but if you really want to get out of that situation, hahanap at hahanap ka ng paraan makaalis at maniwala ka kakayanin mo.

About your bf in the Philippines, isipin mo ng mabuti if you will say yes to his idea of the two of you getting married. You have to get into it with the right reason, not just to escape your bf, or because you feel guilty, etc. Kailangan buo ang loob mo. Otherwise you will create more problems for yourself and for everyone around you.

Good luck and I hope you find peace in your life.

Mahirap talaga pag LDR (or kahit hindi LDR) at madaming tukso. Pero nasa tao yun. We always have a choice.
