So Pnoy is back in Manila na pala. Akala ko ba eh di sya babalik hangga't di naaayos yung relief operations sa Tacloban. Ah...

"I was in Tacloban for three days. I went there last Saturday and went home just last night...

...ns. I have read the different calls for help. I have seen more than enough supplies of reliefs. I recognized the different groups of volunteers. I have appreciated the relief efforts. I have witnessed your relief warehouse operations. And I sense, there are some things WRONG IN BETWEEN that your office should settle so that the united efforts will not be wasted!"

post ng friend ko sa fb...it breaks my heart again and again  :'(

politics din kasi yan on a lower level. any wrong move they might be liable. kung may mangyari sa sasakyan niyo, liable din sila so on and so forth. again, wala kasi silang policy or safeguards sa mga ganito. hirap talaga makisama sa gov't. tsaka marami daw diyan hindi qualified, dinaya ang kung ano mangexams, at padrino system pagdating sa employment

I can't help but comment.
Very tough yet may sincerity yung words nya dito. If you understand the "bisaya" dialect, you would feel the sincerity and sympathy. Hindi papogi ang dating. Parang out of rage ang mga reactions nya.

I am not a Davaeno by the way. But I must admit, I like the way he leads his city and the way he disciplines his people.

EDIT: From a friend who got home from San Miguel, Leyte just recently:

Sadly, at least two people have given me first-hand information na halos walang nakakarating na tulong sa kanila. Kung may time lang ako I would have gone there myself. T___T

Quote
I was there recently and me myself witness how slow yung pgbigay ng tulong sa ibang part of Leyte.I guess focus [textspeak!] sila within Tacloban kc madami taga media dun. How about yung ibang bayan?..please po I guess you are not familiar sa San Miguel,Leyte coz isa [textspeak!] po yan sa mahirap ng bayan dun. They need foods, medicines at mga pako (nails) so they can build again their homes. You need to go to Ormoc city pa to buy and only rich people can do that. From San Miguel to Ormoc you have to spend 2k for fare, and it's not practical for most poor people there. Sa ngayon aasa [textspeak!] po sila sa mga relief goods na ibibigay, or if sana meron na mgbukas na mga tindahan or groceries for foods, botika para sa mga gamot. Our local government is doing its best but di nila kaya needs ng buong baranggay specially yung bigay [textspeak!] ng national government. When I was there, only 11 sacks of rice [textspeak!] dw allocated for 600 families, kulang na kulang po. Sa security nyo po I can help arrange it. I can request police escort thru our very good Mayor, from Bato or Ormoc city to San Miguel. You can distribute the goods directly to the people, [textspeak!] po issue yan sa local government.

^ I might die of laughter sa article na yan. Grabe ang yabang lang. Kaya naman pala hindi dumadating agad agad ang tulong sa Tacloban eh because of this, straight from the horse's mouth:

Eto pa yung actual video ni kris during the campaign regarding the quote above http://m.youtube.com/watch?sns=fb&v=X2owtubp_Qg&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DX2owtubp_Qg%26sns%3Dfb

umalis na pala yung team of Forensic experts na pinamumunuan ni Dr. Fortun, nadismaya sila kasi may plan at systema na sila biglang pinaalis sila ng NBI dahil wala daw silang mandate galing palasyo. So now, NBI na ang namamamahala.

ika nga niya on the second day nakapag organize na daw ang mga hapon ng rescue efforts na walang equipment. military people with only sticks lang daw while waiting for aid and equipment to arrive. yun ang effort.

and sumama siya sa pag hanap ng missing people sa tacloban. lalo na yung ina na nawawalan ng anak.they gave aways some of the food and slept sa airport grounds...

in a subtle but obvious way, pinapakita ng world media na supportado nila si cooper.

If you believe that there is competent government official that must be elected some other time eh di it is now time for you to encourage other people to vote for that competent para naman sa next disaster hindi na tayong mamroblema lahat.

what I can say is we really can't pinpoint on anyone sa nangyari.  What really hit us is something big kita mo naman buong mundo tumulong sa atin.  We are just not really prepared for this and siguro nahaluan na rin ng politika kasi naman e campo ni Rumaldez yun and si Aquino ang president natin ngayon.  Ikaw ba naman e kung campo ng nagpapatay sa father mo yung nangailangan ng tulong will you be in a rush?  sounds really unprofessinal pero ganun lang siguro talaga.  Let's stop the blame.  Atleast Anderson Cooper did something at napahiya ang ating gobyerno at biglang kumilos. We should not be happy about this because we are part of the Philippines. I just hope that what really happened will make the Filipino's wiser in the next election kung sino ba talaga ang iluluklok nila sa pwesto.

Ikaw ba naman e kung campo ng nagpapatay sa father mo yung nangailangan ng tulong will you be in a rush?

Oo, kasi ang nakalimutan ng mga politicians na iyan, they have an obligation to the people.  In a tragic incident like this, lives were at stake. Just goes to show how evil Philippines politics are.

Let's stop the blame.

You cannot make people stop criticizing. Kasi kahit naman nangyari yung tsunami sa Thailand, they did not see such blatant kat*ngahan, inefficiencies and insensitivity and disservice to its countrymen. The world was just surprised to see Philippines na maraming malls and all walang capability to save his citizens in dire need of life and death situation. And it is not that we are expecting the government to stop Yolanda, but it is the reaction of the aftermath.

Atleast Anderson Cooper did something at napahiya ang ating gobyerno at biglang kumilos. We should not be happy about this because we are part of the Philippines.

I don't think the word is happy.  I think this issue about our government's inefficiency is just beyond me.  I am angry and have been angry with our government's betrayal and disservice.  And I am glad, yes glad, hindi naman rejoicingly happy, pero I am glad that someone outside of the Philippines saw this. Sugapa talaga sila. Gahaman.  Hindi ako makaisip pa ng word for them, it is beyond garapal sugapa at gahaman eh.

And the real problem is?

Each citizen is simply defenseless from the government's abuses and disservice.  Kaya kung gusto mo lumaban, one has to be a member of a powerful clan, at kayo magsabong. Just like how these Romualdez'/Marcoses pit against the Aquinos.

I just hope that what really happened will make the Filipino's wiser in the next election kung sino ba talaga ang iluluklok nila sa pwesto.

Kaso for me it is not just the people you vote for.  You have to make sure also that the padrino system eh mawala. It takes a superhero to do this. Kaya good luck.

And sa nakikita ko nga, a bit ironic ang post na ito. One minute you would say walang sisihan. Problema kasi kung wala kang sinisisi ibig sabihin, nothing needs to change kasi everything is in order. Pero at the same time, be wiser to vote.

So you are saying forever, you will pay taxes.  Forever, you will get nothing. And forever, being a private citizen, we should dedicate helping our co-citizens kasi forever walang silbi ang gobyerno natin?

For instances as tragic as this, where towns were totally wiped out, hindi parin sila gagalaw?  di man lang sila magambala ng konsyensya nila?  nakakakain pa sila at nakakatulog mabuti?

I would rather choose na maging hopeful and positive sa ikauunlad ng bansa kasama na dyan yung system sa government rather than complaining much dahil sa totoo lang nakakasakit sa ulo at nakakayamot kung sasama pa ako sa walang katapusang reklamo.

kasi siguro ang mga reklamo is not for the sake para lang may maireklamo. galing sila sa puso, sa galit, sa experience.

I would compare this situation with a marriage.  Kung continuously maraming kabit ang asawa mo, some wives would just choose to keep mum about it and look the other way. Maybe this is your stance kasi feeling ng wife wala din naman sya talagang magagawa at pinili mo pakasalan ang philandering husband mo (pinili mo sa pagboto ang mga public officials). And til death do you part (end of the world nalang kayo maghihiwalay).

But there are some wives who just cannot accept the philandering husband's crap.  Kung makakawala ka, umalis ka na sa marriage (thus migrate to another country).  Kung wala kang choice, lalaban ka while you are still standing. And this is what some people do, complain and demand action from the government, not just accept its crap.

If you believe that there is competent government official that must be elected some other time eh di it is now time for you to encourage other people to vote for that competent para naman sa next disaster hindi na tayong mamroblema lahat.

Sis iyan nga ang problema.  There are people who believe na WALANG competent na government official. So paano?  While there are some people AKALA nila ok yung binoto nila and sa mga nakikita after ng election, hindi pala. Paulit ulit nalang eh. Nakakarindi na.

eh paano pala kung nagkaroon ng end of the world tapos swerte na lang nakasurvive ang iba eh di sisisihin na naman natin gobyerno na wala tayong makain, mapuntahan at hindi maiayos ang mga pinsalang naiwan?

I beg to differ on this sis, but this is a situation wherein the national government should be next in line to help in this apparent case that the local government [was] deemed dysfunctional; in the first 48 hours puro drama at sisihan lang ang nakita ko sa TV, it's been two weeks already pero relief operations pa rin ang nangyayari at hindi pa nakakaabot sa ibang lugar ang tulong (many can attest to this). Even an expedition group who is currently helping in the remote islands of Northern Palawan (and effectively doing it for a small group like them) is already slamming the government for their "ineffective" approach.

Oh yes, there's also this circulating rumor that DSWD is selling these relief goods given by other countries. Let's hope na hindi ito totoo.

In the situation presented as quoted the damage [is projected] to be nationwide and everything will seem to be dysfunctional. *knocks on wood*

I would understand since no one will be able to help us in this other case. Pero hindi eh.

-----------

Ikaw ba naman e kung campo ng nagpapatay sa father mo yung nangailangan ng tulong will you be in a rush?  sounds really unprofessinal pero ganun lang siguro talaga.

As bro akthung said in this thread, "He should man up, no more mommy and daddy."

----------

Hay, pinapayagan kasi sila mangampanya as if gumagawa sila ng presentation sa perya -- kaya tumatatak sa utak ng botante. But I definitely agree with you in this.

Problem is, most of the time kung sino pa ang akala nating matino eh sya rin pala ang malaking sakit sa ulo pag nanalo na sa eleksyon. Remember, GMA was once very popular hanggang lumitaw yung mga corruption reports about her left and right na parang kabute.
