Ito lang masasabi ko. I think this is not the proper time para punahin nang husto kung ano man ang nakita natin sa mga government officials, it can be pagkukulang o kung ano man mga nasabi nila na nakakapantig. Matindi ang pressure na pinagdadaanan nila dahil matindi rin ang pag-aalala nila sa taong bayan. Kung nababagalan na tayo sa sistema ng gobyerno eh di tulungan na lang natin o ipagpatuloy na lang natin ang mga tulong. Kung dagdag pa tayo sa reklamo tungkol sa gobyerno hindi malabong makakarating ito sa victims at lalo pa natin ginagatungan yung mga masasakit na sinapit nila. Alalahanin natin na according to reports lalo na from CNN, Yolanda ang pinakamalakas na disaster sa history ng mundo tapos pumapangalawa na rito ang Hurricane Katrina. Wala ring saysay kung puro tayo reklamo sa gobyerno dahil ever since ganyan na talaga ang system tapos ngayon pa na Pilipinas na yung tinamaan na pinakamalakas na bagyo. Alalahanin niyo pa rin na pinaghandaan ito at naging concern sila sa 0 casualty. Mga relief goods na nakahanda na sa airport inanod rin sabayan pa yung mga evacuation centers na hindi rin pinatawad ng bagyo. May rescuers na namatay rin during the typhoon itself. Isa rin itong bagay kung bakit kinakailangan rin natin ng tulong mula sa ibang bansa at siempre tulong mula sa taong bayan. Andito na tayo para dagdagan kung ano man ang pagkukulang ng gobyerno at ito ang pangunahing concern natin.

^ Sis, yung best friend ko (our families have close ties with each other) desperado na talaga maialis ang mga kamag-anak nya sa Biliran, Samar at Leyte. Sabi nya sa akin hanggang ngayon wala pa silang nakukuhang kahit ano and yung naipong rainwater na lang ang kaya nilang inumin (plus during the first few days, yung mga unripe fruits from their destroyed crops) considering na senior citizens na halos lahat ng kamag-anak nila dun. She's very angry at the government kasi sa dami na ng foreign aid at workers plus yung mga donations natin, wala pang nakakarating sa kanila, and for the media -- only a few were ACTUALLY given help. Thankful na daw sila na nakaligtas sila, however they are also worried dahil matagal na silang di nakakakain. They tried calling to telethons, etc. to ask for help, walang nangyayari.

We offered them to stay muna sa clan house namin sa Sorsogon (though natamaan din ng Signal no. 4, the house is totally unharmed) bago sila pumunta ng Maynila to recharge and to at least recover from the traumatic experience they had two weeks ago. Thing is, trapped yung susundo sa kanila sa Matnog. Sadly, donations or being a volunteer can help -- but in these unreached places, all we can do is to give them prayers and to hope that help will already reach them.

Sorry if you see na masyado kaming negative; I would understand if lives are not at stake here -- but that's not the case. May mga namamatay na nang dahil sa gutom at sa sakit. They are the ones who have more capacity to help than us.

Just a suggestion to our sisses here, you can try employing one as househelp, or driver, etc. Provide them shelter, food, some psychosocial assistance (just talking to them dearly will help) and education for their little ones while they work for you, until they can go back there or even get employment.

In fact, some provinces already pledged to adopt families and orphaned children.

The white bags with OVP Binay stickers were distributed in the affected areas in Panay.  Those were recent photos.  Sabi ng spokesman niya e, supporter daw nagbigay nun.  Like anyone would believe that.
The Roxas camp has their own boo-boo courtesy of Korina Sanchez.  Namigay ng mga tsinelas with her name on them and in her husbands political party's colors (blue and yellow).  Matalgal na raw niya pinagawa yun.  Still.  Eww.

The reason why I am also exasperated in our government is not because nag rereklamo lang ako. We do have relatives na kasama din sa nasalanta ng bagyo and thankfully everyone is fine except the devastation of their houses and towns in Panay naman eh sobrang grabe din. Hindi lang din masyado covered ng news yung sa Panay kasi comparing damages mas matindi yung dinanas ng Leyte at Samar. We did our part to help and continuously tumutulong kami in every way na kaya namin. What I don't like lang kasi eh parang ilang disaster na yung nangyari: Pablo, Sendong, Ondoy, Bohol Earthquake, etc pero parang di pa rin natututo tayo sa nangyayari na maging handa. A lot of our hard earned money from taxes goes into the deep pockets of most government officials. I don't mind paying high taxes as long as  well compensated yung mga taong present sa pagtulong like soldiers and rescue workers na every time may disaster sila yung andun sa scene. Naiinis ako kasi hindi na tayo bago sa mga ganitong sakuna, pero paulit ulit nalang yung eksena na maraming casualties. And I know some friends who have relatives in hard hit areas na talagang walang dumarating na tulong and the place is stinking of cadavers that were waiting for pick up since last week pa.

Kung di pa tayo na highlight sa international news na mabagal mag respond yung government natin hindi pa bibilisan ng kahit konti. I'm quite disappointed and quite wondering where are our precious taxes go? BAkit hindi tayo makabili man lang ng mga equipments for rescue, reserve stocks of food supplies during typhoons, employ strategist that would help in evacuating people and plan for the worst scenarios and build better infrastructures para maging handa. I know its signal no. 4 and a lot were surprised at Yolanda's power to destroy Visayas pero at least yung backup plan na after ng bagyo eh maayos pero as usual, same old kwento just like yung mga nakaraang disasters.

2nd day of the aftermath, the Taiwanese Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation were already in Cebu (this is told by my aunt who is also one) but they were stranded in Cebu because, walang logistics to get them there.  Hence, makikita niyo na may mga commercial airlines (Ex, Air Asia-Zest, 2GO, etc) offering FREE rides to these typhoon-hit areas.  Same experiences happened with the Doctors without Borders.

Had the NATIONAL GOVT (local government has LONG informed ALL MEDIA that they had no means to because they were 95% devastated.  Mayor Romualdez in tacloban had aired this early on to bring everything you've got because we have nothing here.



When Amanpour, Cooper and the rest of the international media has already pressured his leadership, he blames everyone including the weather. 
Didn't Mayor Romualdez told him, that no one can really prepare for Yolanda?!?! and PNOY said this as well on CNN.  So it's okay to come from him but not from this his enemy clan?  Who's politicking now?


I'd rather see here yung mga facts, may it be bad or good, pro or against Pnoy or Mar Roxas because the FACTS still bring results, that same results bakit ganun ka immediate and intense ang foreign aid sa visayas. 

Had we not seen these across the media, that "we don't need not much doctors........."  I don't think may relief pa makaka rating. 



I am more concerned though with:

a) what will be done with the almost P3B monetary donations?!?  can the international org just oversee this than the government?  At this point, I DON'T NOT TRUST PNOY HONESTY (he never saw through Arroyo's prosecution to begin with, but that's already OT).

b) and IF this typhoon had hit Luzon instead (note, PAG ASA is seeing another intense yolanda-like-storm heading for Luzon), and we have this s****y leader, saan tayo pupulutin???

I just read about Bong Bong Marcos interview. He said it's not time to pinpoint the mistakes but to help the each other.  I wish siya na lang ang president natin.

Sis, kanya kanyang perspective naman iyan. Who is to say what is proper and what is not.  Kahit ano pa ang maging reason ng gobyerno kung ikaw ang namatayan, nawalan ng bahay, walang makain, tapos matutulog ka sa basa na sahig sa tabi ng bangkay ng anak mo o ng parents mo o bangkay ng sinong loved one na kelangan mo iwan sa taas ng puno na parang naka display for all the world to see, it is simply inhumane for the government not to be able to help these people. That for me is not proper. It is not proper for the government to be incapable of helping its citizens who are in dire need.  After all, they collect taxes, they collect VAT from its people.

And to top it all, it is not as simple as nawala yung mga LGUs na kelangan sumagot sa calamities. Andyan pa ang National Government, moreso, andyan pa yung international organizations at iba't ibang country pouring in their military forces, aid, medical mission at kung ano ano pa.

Exactly sis.  I had a hunch already about this more than a decade ago.  Kaya in this lifetime, pilit ko talaga makahanap ng alternative na place of living aside from Pinas. Ano ang magagawa ko if my government is the one driving me away from Pinas. Kung sya mismo pa ang papatay at magpapahamak sakin, ang unang instinct ko is to survive and live a fulfilling life and I don't think I can do that if I am in Pinas.

Sabi nya, if not for my family daw he don't think mas gugustuhin ko sa Pilipinas. siguro pwede for vacation but not for a long time. He's a foreigner and married to a Filipina. He's nothing against Filipinos in fact he have a lot of Pinoy friends here but with the kind of government that we have daw kawawa tayo at kahit anong kayod natin mahirap padin umunlad. Nakakatakot lang isipin at aminin na din natin few weeks or months from now makakalimutan na ng marami ang mga kabulastugan at puno ng pamumulitika ng gobyerno at leaders natin. Ngayon pa lang imbes na i-uplift ng todo at bigyan ng inspiration or encouragement ang mga taong naabot na nila ngayon ng tulong, puro patutsada at paninisi pa din ang namumutawi sa pangulo. sabi nga nung UN kaya mabagal kasi we do not have much air assets, meaning planes ganyan. alam mo naman dito sa atin... kapag bumili ka ng mga ganyan sasabihin marami nagugutom, unahin na lang yun. pero lalu na ngayon with the PDAF scam and all mabuti pa assets na nga lang ang bilhin natin at least nakikita natin diba na ipinambili for something.

If you say that complaining to the government can make sense at all then I believe others must share their competencies with them on how the problem will be resolved as soon as possible para maialis na agad agad ang mga naiwang pinsala ni Yolanda. Para naman magkaroon ng makakain ang ibang nasalanta na hindi pa mapuntahan, magkaroon ng sanitation at mailibing pa ng maayos ang iba. It is true that donating, showing how you support is really a big help including the emotional support. But then kung maririnig ka ng biktima on how you complain about the government here in the Philippines, anong klaseng support naman ang tawag run? Nakatulong ba nang husto sa kanila yun? I just hope this will be a big lesson to all of us hindi lang sa gobyerno.

Duterte has alread given his suggestion and we have the same sentiments. A state of emergency which will replace volunteerism with mandatory service is needed, and this will render the LGU dysfunctional therefore the national government will have to take over.

However Mayor Romualdez has been asked to give a written explanation to Manila why before the Tacloban LGU is to be declared dysfunctional. Only 70 out of 20000++++ government employees report for duty, governmental assets also destroyed and even the Mayor himself going emotional about it already. To add insult to the injury, an investigation will be held on where he will be held liable, as if this is a priority over doing relief, search and rescue, retrieval and rebuilding operations.

I rest my case.
