Hindi lang talaga sinuswete si pnoy na naabutan ng term niya itong bagyong ito kasi with our resouces and existing lackluster to non existing equipments nobody we can elect can ever be prepared for this not even if binay were president today.

I saw an interview ng isang nanay, ang sabi niya di niya daw alam bat kinuha yung mga anak niya ng wala sa oras, pero siguro nga daw kasi kung nabuhay man sila ngayon, eh wala din syang mapapakain. we need to start prepping imho. join kayo ng mga prepping or survivalist groups. hindi naman kelangan maging, cult oriented or doomsday prepper. practical prepper lang.

*always have a week or two of food and water.
*Save on water. Use diapers.
*Keep clorox for cleaning water for potability.
*Eat only once a day. Except children.
*Build a house at least 2 stories with good foundation (metal bars) durable both earthquake and floods.
*Rape and robbery started happening at the second day. A lot of animals out there. Train the women even     able children self defense
* Have an evacuation plan. Know proximity to airport or military outpost.
*Make alliances with neighbors and work as a group.
*For health, learn basic first aid for fracture, lacerations, bleeding even IV hydration. Its easy.
*Store on meds and antibiotics. Ask your doctor how to disperse.
*Lastly, have common sense. Use your f%3ng head. Be aware.
*Don't be complacent. And maintain integrity. Be honorable. 'With integrity, you've won before you've even started'.
*For vehicles, store gas properly. Durable car, nothing flashy.

On a lighter note, nakakatouched naman talaga malaman na may mga private organizations / civillians / foreign troops na gumagawa ng paraan to provide relief goods even to far-flung areas. May mga nag-aasikaso na din sa mga lumilikas from leyte... Clearly, wala tayong aasahahan kung sa govt. lang din naman natin. Aside from pnoy, one of the reasons that got me irked yung mga nababasa ko - mga nagtatry pa idepensa or ijustify yung kapabayaan, kabagalan at kakulangan ng govt....

Good vibes ako ngayon.  Nahanap na yung family ng cousin in law ko (except for 1 na missing pa din). Also, nakapagbigay uli kami ng donations, this time clothes naman para sa nasalanta, tumulong din mag-ayos ng relief goods this afternoon. In my own little way, I'm doing my part...

To quote again one of our sisses sa kabilang thread:"ang tulong ko ay para sa tacloban, pero ang galit / batikos ko ay para kay pnoy"

^ Yep, I heard that over the radio earlier. Minsan ayoko nang makinig ng radio or manood ng news dahil naha-high blood ako sa mga palusot, este statements pero kailangan ding ma-monitor kung ano na ang nangyayari.

Nakaka-high blood rin ang government apologists na sabihing tumulong na lang daw imbes na mag-kritiko while savoring the comforts of home...um, hello, there's such a thing as multitasking. People can both help and be vigilant. And if complaining is the only thing that will make the nat'l leaders do their jobs (sounds like a lot of gov't offices, yes?) then so be it. Stop blaming daw? Tell that to PNoy, expert na siya dyan. Nanguna siya to blame the local gov't in front of international media.

Hanga ako sa ating kapwa Pilipino: sundalo, medical teams, volunteers, even some government employees, everyone helping out in their own way. They're doing a heck of a job. Hanga ako sa mga survivors, they're very very strong people and they deserve much more than what they're getting now. It's the leaders that disgust me.

I have lost a great amount of trust in the government in the past, ngayon parang nasadsad sa zero. And while everyone is disappointed and frustrated with the government, why are they still in their positions?

Our government can't take good are of its people anymore. Motion of no confidence."

To add, did the government even asked for help with planning and organizing the relief? Kasi hindi naman nga tayo kulang sa Manpower. Kulang tayo sa leadership at diskarte. Sana magpadala na rin ng Consultancy Help ang ibang bansa. Na-news pa na Pnoy would take over the relief operations na daw tapos with matching videos na nag-aabot sya ng tubig. Come on, stop fooling the Filipino people.

My friend's relative told him that til the 6th day after the typhoon ravaged Tacloban, they didn't receive relief goods.  They decided to get a van in order to leave the city. I lurked in groups for people from Tacloban and read their relatives' accounts of looting, robbery and murder. Grabe. Nakakatakot. Mabaho din sobra sa place because of the cadavers. Kaya yung iba kahit walang relatives sa Manila sumasakay sa plane basta makaalis lang dun.

alam mo naman sis, sa ibang bansa, hindi ganito kagulo at katindi ang politika sa relief operations. gobyerno ng pinas ang magulo. at marami pang iba na hindi nakikita ng tao.

damay na damay pa international media and international orgs sa blend ng pinoy politics and corruption.

kalat na kalat yung selective distribution of goods, repackaging of foreign aid. etc etc. meron pa nga nagsasabi kaya ganun na lang ang administration kasi romualdez area daw doon. it could go both ways, cold ang itaas, or ma pride yung ibaba.

grabe. and alam mo naman na foreigners sometimes fall prey to stereotypes and old beliefs. so apektado din ang pinoys living in foreign lands.

At least people now realize how incompetent our government has been.  Taka ngako it takes a calamity like this for people to see through their BS.   

Tumulong tayo hanggang sa makakaya natin, wala naman tayong magagawa di ba?  Kasi iyan lang ang magagawa natin.

Tsaka lang gagalaw ang gobyerno kapag may umangal na, kapag na media na, kapag may magmakaawa sa kanila (na wala nang natitirang hiya sa mukha mo), tsaka lang sila gagalaw?  Kung tulungan ka man, utang na loob mo pa sa kanila?  Kung magalit ka man, sila pa ang mas galit?  Puede ba!!

^ sis do you need nurses? I am available for 1 week pero sa nov 27 pa. I really want to volunteer on site. Every year since Ondoy, i  am active with relief operations but this time wala akong mahanap na org that could take me to ground zero or those affected areas.

hindi ba sa ibang bansa nauuna ang soldiers sa mga calamity? nagki-clear ng roads, naghahanap ng buhay pa, nagse-setup ng shelters, taga communicate sa head ng mga kailangan pa.

at least man lang kung andon sila kahit gutom, mataas ang moral ng mga tao kasi na-feel ang presence ng government at i think isa yan reason sa looting...yung iba they most probably felt neglected tapos yung iba na masamang loob nakita nila na walang security. chaka kung na-clear nila kagad ang kalsada, kahit isang major road lang or daungan sa dagat, baka mas mabilis.

ewan ko lang ha, parang kulang rin kasi ang balita. kasi akala ko inililikas nila papuntang manila yung mga kailangan ng medical attention, pero may namatay pa rin samantalang may mga buhay naman nakauwi sa families nila sa manila. so kung hindi ka makapag lakad papunta sa shelter, mamamatay kang dilat? kaya kailangan andun ang military in my opinion kasi may mga cases na tao dapat ang puntahan ng help.

chaka bakit wala halos coverage ng mga tulong ng ibang bansa sa atin sa local news? yung relief goods at yung medical assistance nila? di ba nagpadala rin ang iba ng manpower nila?
