Pnoy seems to be blaming the LGU's disorganization.

I didn't know that asking for the government to take necessary and feasible action is synonymous to bashing.

I agree with akthung, that's how he is. Kung may maganda mang kapunapuna, pupunahin. Kung may maling gawa, pupunahin. Mabuti narin yung ganito baka sakaling matauhan na siya na he is indeed an incompetent president.

I think what some of us here are trying to say is that Pnoy should step up, to take over and to take full control of the situation instead of pointing out to LGUs when, clearly local govt. is also devastated. I think Pnoy is still indenial, even the number of death tolls hindi pa din nya masabi ang totoo. (Nagwalk out kasi during the meeting?)

Aside from vital supplies, what we need are people who have concrete plans and people who can actually execute them, at ng hindi naghihintay sa kawalan ang mga kababayan natin na nasalanta.

A SIGH OF RELIEF (Yeap, I'm posting this in all caps.)

Nasa Ormoc na ang Philippine Red Cross convoy and is starting to give their goods there. They'll be going to Tacloban and be spread across parts of Visayas and Southern Luzon.

Well, on the brighter side, who knows, the goverment might be doing something we don't know... But really, the president can exercise his powers and utilize each one of us to help. And look, no comment ang mga anti-US at pro-commies na mahilig mag-rally sa kalsada...

I just think that he can do a lot better than blaming. I agree, there's mismanagement here but I don't see a reason to have him impeached; he just needs to man up. It's already tiring to see officials getting impeached to be replaced by equally bad ones. C'mon, he can do better than that! (This paragraph was edited to prevent further misunderstandings)

One thing I see that he can do at the very least is to declare a holiday to enforce full civilian humanitarian efforts. WTH did we study NSTP or ROTC for kung hindi naman gagamitin para sa mga emergency situations katulad nito? Hindi man lahat gustong tumulong but at least there will be a lot who can do.

Di ko kinaya yung part na may foreign medical team (from cebu) looking for flight going to tacloban pero hindi nakaalis kasi for phil.military use lang daw yung tacloban airport. Wtf.

Nanonood ako ng international news on cable, mapapaluha ka na lang sa kakulangan ng tulong from our govt. No sense of urgency, nauna pa tulong from foreigners.

With that kind of destruction its like the place was ravaged by war that it will take so many years and more money than what was donated to start reconstruction,  is there any more sense to rebuild that city? 


My suggestion:

Perhaps they could be absorbed by other places with functioning infrastructure and channel the funds in expansion of constructing additional homes, roads etc  this is more feasible to me and easier for the national government to manage than to start from scratch in that devasted area to god know when it will be back at its feet.   

LGU in that area will definitely not agree to this because this will in effect render them jobless (and porkless!)after spending so much in election but who cares about their lost positions, we want to return sanity and rebuilding lives a soon as possible for the majority.

while they will rebuild tacloban and hire manpower amongst the victims who are able and pay them minimun wages.


thats a good plan. theres the immidiate and then the future aid for the survivor.

This! I had this in mind too.
Kasi I feel so hopeless, na kapag nagpack ako ng relief goods and drop it off sa mga donation centers, I feel it will take a lot of time before it even reaches the people.
I have this very strong eagerness to go fly myself out to Tacloban and cook lugaw using whatever kitchen equipment I can bring with me..have people line up, and serve lugaw and water day in, day out.
I really wanna do this. I want to be there myself and help. I wanna be there right where the action is

grabe, anong petsa na ba? 1 week na, nga nga pa din ang mga survivors. yung mga dead bodies, naaaganas. i don't really understand where pnoy is getting his facts, to believe that everything is under control, because people in tacloban and international media are saying otherwise. di naman siguro sila namumulitika, no. they are just relaying what they are seeing in tacloban. and this is just in tacloban. ang dami pang areas na nasalanta.

guys, I just got a word from a friend who is a military doctor that was sent out to Tacloban..he just came back yesterday and these are his helpful advice for us all..please take the time to read and learn from this:

"I learned a lot of things while I was there. Let me share: common problems are the basic food, water, shelter, security, health and common sense. Whether earthquake, floods, storms, calamities or war its the same aftermath. So first things first, always have a week or two of food and water. Save on water. Use diapers. Keep clorox for cleaning water for potability. Eat only once a day. Except children. Build a house at least 2 stories with good foundation (metal bars) durable both earthquake and floods. Rape and robbery started happening at the second day. A lot of animals out there. Train the women even able children on use of firearms or weapons. Have an evacuation plan. Know proximity to airport or military outpost. Make alliances with neighbors and work as a group.

For health, learn basic first aid for fracture, lacerations, bleeding even IV hydration. Its easy. Store on meds and antibiotics. Ask your doctor how to disperse. Last common sense. Use your f%3ng head. Be aware. Don't be complacent. And maintain integrity. Be honorable. 'With integrity, you've won before you've even started'. For vehicles, store gas properly. Durable car, nothing flashy. "Fortune favors the prepared'."

On the part where he said women and children should learn how to use weapons, it  basically means to learn self defense. You don't necessarily have to own a gun or what, any weapon lying around can be used, even just using your body,  if you know self defense to protect yourself.
