Had an awesome time in Bohol!!!!! Too bad we waited 6 years to be able to go back.
Highlights:1. Golden Cowrie. This resto has super yummy and reasonably priced food. Super sulit! I suggest the baked scallops and fruits shakes.
The table beside us order crispy pata and it looked masarap din.
2. Dumaluan Beach Resort. Very very very nice beach front. Low tide nun punta namin last week. So ang haabaa ng dalampisagan. The sand in their area is very fine and powdery. Sarap maglakad. There are seaweeds but most beaches in that area naman may regular na tigalinis nun mga seaweeds. Room accomodations, nothing to rave about, but wala naman din kami reklamo. They also have a pool, so my toddler also enjoyed swimming there.
3. Dumaluan Resto. Food is kinda pricey pero masarap and superb! We tried walking to BBC resto on one of our nights for dinner pero mas nagustuhan pa dn naman sa Dumaluan. May live band pa playing mellow and jazz music. Nawili kami ng husband ko sa nagbibigay pa kami ng song request. May masseuse pa nakatambay nun sa lobby so we availed of reflexology foot massage while we listen to the band.
Tips and Reminders:On our Countryside tour, our driver Mang Nikol, from Kuya Rod's team of travel and tours, suggested unahin namin yun Chocolate hills para di mainit pag-akyat namin. 1.5hrs and drive from Dumaluan resort to Choco Hills. Wala pa trapik un ha. We left 8am resort, before 9:30am, andun na kami sa Choco Hills. Then we worked our way back sa mga nadaaanan namin tourist spots.
The
Shiphouse, is not usually part of the usual Countryside package, pero open sya and nadaanan namin so photop kami dun. Php30 ang entrance fee. Very nice naman un mga hosts dun at sila pa un magpicture sa inyo.
I asked to skip Loboc river cruise and switched to
Rio verde Floating Resto in Loay, Bohol. Back in 2008, nun first time namin sa Bohol, dito kami. I vaguely remember how was the food and recent stories here in GT too says nothing special sa food. Dapat talaga papadaan na lang kami sa any carinderia madaaanan namin on the way for lunch. Pero on the way to Choco Hills, nakita ko to. Kaya nun pagbalik namin, dito ko na lang pinapunta un driver instead na sa Loboc. 80% of the tourists aboard are foreigners. 2 tables lang kami pinoy.
I
skipped the Baclayon Church tour and asked to go to
Dauis Church instead. Dito ko lang din nabasa sa GT. The church is under renovation too but you can go to the backside and may maganda setup around dun sa big tree. May cafe din dun and sakto for our merienda. This was our last stop before going back to the resort. ON the way to pabalik ng Panglao.
Lowlights:Hindi kami nakapag Bohol Bee Farm. I was expecting tricycles waiting sa labas ng resort like in ALona, pero wala sa Dumaluan. I asked for the hotel service, 800/balikan ang car rental from resort to BBF (woah!!!). Hubby suggested we just stay at the resort and enjoyed the water whole day na lang. Di tuloy ako nakabili ng mga honey dun sa BBF.
