Just like to share with you my preschool hunting.  I went to 2 schools namely The learning tree and Pail and Shovel Integrated School.  Both schools are progressive which i am looking for talaga.  I went first to Learning Tree. The school is ok and clean naman. However, medyo na turn off ako on how they've handled us during the visit. medyo kasi parang hindi accommodating and since may age na ang nag-entertain sa amin, medyo parang sobrang direct to the point na tuition fee lang ang natandaan ko and kung ilan sa class.  na sad lang ako kasi parang i really want to know more of the school however, parang masyadong business dealings lang ang nangyari. Kaya ayun, I didn't pursue na lang with this school. Siempre as a mother, I want naman na kampante ako sa pag-iiwanan ko sa anak ko and that I would be really comfortable din sa mga taong i'll be working with in shaping my son's character.

Buti na lang sis crisdv7068 suggested also Pail and Shovel Integrated School.  I am so happy that I was able to visit this school. Unlike with the previous one, I felt comfortable right away.  The owner of the school welcomed me and gave me some background as to how they do things in the school.. She even spent time explaining to me how does the customization/personalization of lessons happens.  I've learned a lot in that short span of meeting! Mas naintindihan ko and navalue ko ang importance ng Progressive Education.  Na-appreciate ko rin ang number of teachers nila.  They maintain 2 teachers in the class and an assistant teacher in a group of 15 kids. Tutok talaga. Saka mga teachers mostly from UP. The price is somewhat the same din naman. But I felt na mas maalagaan and matutukan ang anak ko given that no. of teachers in the class.    Saka di ba, importante na kampante ka sa magiging teacher ng anak mo. Kaya ayun, nagpaschedule na kami agad ng assessment next week and nagpareserve na agad

I'll share with you again kapag nag assess na si Matthew.  Nakakatuwa sobra!  I think I've  found the right school na for my son!

They started before they turned 3 and stayed there until they were 5.

di ko pa sure kung montessori o ibang school ko ipapasok ang anak ko, kaka4 y/o nya pa lang...so paggrade 1 nya 6 1/2 na sya, older sya sa mga classmates nya? dami ko nabasa mga 5 lang daw grade 1 na

^ 6 years old ang grade 1 per Deped standards.  Either 6 by June or turning 6 during the school year.  It's better nga kung older ang kid mo sa classmates niya kesa younger, at least he is more mature when he starts grade 1.

'Yung anak ng officemate ko, Paint and Shovel siya. Gusto ko sana din doon pagaralin ang anak ko pero sabi ng officemate ko nasa 60-65K daw? Hindi ko kaya 'yung ganoon kamahal eh.

Pero 'yung officemate ko satisfied naman sila kasi nga magaganda daw ang mga activities at may progress lalo na sa pakikipag socialize at pag interact 'yung dating shy nila anak.

suggest kasi ng SIL ko, sa Montesori ko daw ipasok 2yr old ko. pwede na ba?

^ Different.  Montessori is based on the method of teaching pioneered by Dr. Maria Montessori, while progressive education has different proponents like John Dewey, Alfie Kohn, etc.

Mga sis, may idea ba kayo how much ang tuition Fee sa claret ng preschool? Wala kase ako sa Pinas at hindi ako makapag scout ng schools personally eh.

Aprrox, 70k without snacks. I highly recommend it. My daughter went there and she had huge improvement. She also passed the 2 entrance exams she took for big school next SY.

If around Scout Area, my son goes to Kinderfield Learning Center in Sct. Gandia. It's in front of Paref Northfield. It's a really good progressive school. Yung teacher to student ratio is small. Yung class ng son ko last year, nasa 9 lang sila. I like the teachers din. They are very friendly and accomodating.
