whoa I am the second to reply, hinde ko mahanap yung hair coloring thread 6 eh but what I would like to do is to bleach my hair to silver ala Khaleesi. I really love this one by Guy Tang but roots lang ang binleach nya and ang ganda ng pag tone ng hair ng girl, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmjrKWDyeNs
The first time I bleached my hair mga 3 times in one week yun, before I bleach I soak in coconut oil and virtually walang damage.

**DIY ito, mas maganda pag sa salon para abot yung likod ng hair or malamang mas alam nila ginagawa nila hehe** I am not responsible for your hair I am merely sharing my experience**

a. Hair bleach
b. Developer
c. Plastic bowl
d. Brush
e. Clips
f. Shower cap
g. Plastic gloves
h. Hair dye/Toner -- of your choice, Golden blonde, Ash blonde, Silver, Toner etc etc ** Bleaching hair should be part of the journey, not the destination of the hair color you like.
i. Timer
j. Coconut oil -- soak your hair (maybe overnight or at least an hour and DON'T rinse it ok!)before and after bleaching or put protein back using keratin treatments.
k. Shirt you don't mind getting ruined.

Ratio for me is 1:1 or minsan 1:2 depende sa brand ng bleach rin.
Don't let it touch the scalp or at least do the roots last since more heat means more bleaching power ** mag eexpand naman yan and IMO darker roots add depth but nasasaiyo parin yan..

Hi sis! Idol ko rin si Guy Tang. Been following him ever since I learned about his works.

Been bleaching my hair since the start of the year so I guess I can give some good advice on this topic.

♥ First thing to do it asses your hair. Is it thick or thin? (The strands)If it's thick, then you can go ahead and use a 30 volume developer. and It can probably handle bleaching it thrice without damage. That is if you follow it with keratin treatment right away. Syempre check it if kaya pa nya before bleaching again.

♥ Don't use hbc bleach and deveoper. That one made my hair brittle and snaps off. I suggest mondes bleach and developer. Maybe try other professional bleach products.

♥ If your going to bleach up to the scalp, I highly suggest not washing your hair for 2-3 days so that there will be a barrier of your natural oil to protect your scalp.

♥ Start bleaching at the bottom or tips of your hair. That way, it will look even because bleach works a lot faster nearing the scalp.

♥ I think the coconut oil is best used only on already light hair or fragile hair. If your hair is black or dark kasi, you'll have to bleach it around 3 times and that might just give you orangey brassy hair or a medium blonde shade.
♥ Also mind the nape area. Those part are the toughest to bleach so do those areas first if you don't want to get darker brassy hair there.

♥ Now if you're already blonde, Lower the developer volume even more. Less damage and you really don't need higher lift anyway.

♥ Stock up on keratin treats and shampoos. You can use the treats as conditioner.

♥ After coloring with Special Effects advice: try to shampoo less often. ;)

♥ Depending on the color of your Special Effects dye, you may have to bleach it to pale yellow then toned to get a good base. If not, yellow will affect your hair color result. Might not be cute. For example: blue will become greenish. Pink will become orangey/yellowy pink? Purple will have less effect depending on the strength because it will counteract the yellow color.

IMO, my hair has been healthier bleached. I quote Guy Tang on that. You know those frizzy thick hairs? It smoothened out after bleaching. Made my hair kind of softer too. Though it take so much longer to dry.

I second this! My hair got shinier, I think lightening it brightened it or something so it seems my hair is glistening. **but pls pls take caution many heads/scalps/hair was burned din, depends nga sa tolerance ng hair/scalp mo.

BTW I use Aquanet silver beauty, avail sya sa mga american dollar stores dito sa Manila. Keratin is good too to put protein back to your hair.
NO ORANGE/Brassy hair pls,, tone it tone it tone it.

I wanted to get Virgin snow ng Manic panic :)

I have a question though,, is it true that you can put conditioner sa Bleaching mixture,, ex :

1:1 diba so 1 part bleaching powder 1 part developer tapos add 2 parts conditioner -- kasi yung bleach ko ang bilis matuyo :(

Has any of you used the 0.00/ Dust hair/Clear tone color cream after bleaching? did it lighten up your hair? or at least tone it to get the yellow out? because it did not do anything to mine! ka grr nga eh akala ko maalis yung brassiness dahil level 6/7 na hair ko. waley I dyed it light gray and lets just say ,,,, I am not pleased with the result -- pero healthy parin hair ko which is important.

^ I personally stopped bleaching my roots after doing it once. Ang bilis kasi tumubo ng hair ko and I don't really like touching up my roots very often. I'm sporting a balayage/ombre hair. I really prefer this look cause it's not high maintenance. It's usually tinted pink but I might try a gray-silver-white gradation this ber months.  :)

I don't have purple toners as of now but I tone using food coloring and custom mixing bright blue and bright red to get a more bluish purple color. I mix them on my shampoo and keratin treatment. Does the trick for me. I was able to get white silvery hair with it.

I do plan to get a punky color and manic dye (and maybe that popular clairol shimmerlights too). I don't think you really need virgin snow as you can just mix tiny bit of purple on conditioner. Will save you lots of money that way.  ;)

I actually rebleached my hair today, balayage style. It was dirty because I dyed my roots red twice. And then the color ran down to my very light  tips and they just stayed there. I officially hate red dyes. It's so hard to get off even after covering it with ash blonde. Anyways, I used 20 volume developer and I was actually able to get it light yellow and bright white after blue shampoo. But then there was red running down from the top. It made it a pinky skintone color. Can't wait to get the red off my hair.
::) If only we have those color strippers....

As for my hair condition, I used a keratin shampoo and treatment right after so it's going to get stiff for now(because of the shampoo). The tips look fine to me. Thankfully I have thick hair.

Make sure to cut off the frizzed up brittle hair if you get them. Those are "overcooked" and are hard to repair and would probably become brittle and break off soon. It's important to cut off damage as soon as you see it. Or else it will make their way up your hair.  :)

Ofcourse, no more heat for hair. Meaning goodbye hair iron, flat iron blower etc. Try no-heat styling. ;)

I bleached my hair again to get the gray out, after nun ko lang nalaman na may such thing pala as a Bleach wash which is basically adding shampoo to the mixture,,, They use it to remove hair dye,  Sana yun nalang ginawa ko, but anyway ok panaman healthy parin.  Now its just screaming yellow ahahahah  Accdg to the video from Wella sa YT, to get the orange out is to bleach it, mere toning will not do it since its just toning as in different shades of what you currently have,, I was thinking of using LOLANE pixxel super light ash blonde but wala ako mahanap na review of bleached hair using it as toner or to at least get the bright orange and yellow out to a pale yellow. I had the idea today of what kind of blonde I want from a foreign guy I saw at the mall lol, dirty blonde. Ang ganda!!!

Girl, I use that as toner! POWERFUL yan Lolane Pixxel Extreme Light Ash Blonde. Downside is it only lasts a couple of weeks before the yellow starts to show again, but it’s really one of the cheapest and the best! ;)

Gray siya sa una sis, to be specific, violet-gray. Within a week or so the gray will fade to a pale, ashy cool-toned blonde basta hindi orange yung bleach job underneath :)

Mga sis paturo naman pano gumawa ng blue toner or violet toner. Yung ginawa kasi sakin na bleach sa salon orangey. Hindi nila alam pano mag tone. I want to DIY sana. Nakakatakot lang baka makulayan ko imbis na ma tone lang.  Using food coloring sana or kung may alam kayo mabibilhan please tell me.  :-[
