i agree with sis j.adore.
dagdag ko na lang, isa sa mga pro's ng pag-book sa bridal fair bukod sa discount is that you can meet and talk to the suppliers personally instead of puro email lang. though yes, limited lang ang time lalo na kung maraming gustong makipag-usap sa kanila pero at least you can get a vibe kung pano nila i-present yung sarili nila sa client.
ang medyo con naman dito is yung pressure of time na mag-book. kase there are some suppliers na quarterly magtaas ng rate so baka yung discounted rate na ibigay nila this feb ay magtaas na sa susunod na bridal fair na sasalihan nila.
what i usually do is visit the website ng fair to see the list of exhibitors para i can research ahead of time. pumupunta din kame sa first day ng fair para lang magtingin at kumuha ng flyers then research pag-uwi and if we decide on a supplier, we book them the next day.
research is vital talaga.

As early as now I am finalizing whom I want to meet, inquire to, and visit on the fair. I will definitely book our invitation supplier there. Sulit talaga rates nila sa fairs. Then probably book/canvass for our strings.

Yeah - si K by C offers 3 desserts or appetizers. That's the freebie pero its up to your AE pa din the choices you will make or freebies you will take.

yep. baka dumaan kame saglit ni h2b on saturday sa megamall. booked na naman lahat ng major suppliers namin so makiki-usi na lang.. hehe

^I just want to share my thoughts about the other side of the coin.

Personally i have gone to 2, maybe 3 bridal fairs after I got engaged without booking anything. I just collected brochures for me to know about the prices and suppliers available.

My rule is never to get pressured to book a supplier that I haven't even researched yet, just because they offer a huge discount at the bridal fair.

In the first 3 months, we booked almost all our major suppliers (Venue, Photo, Video, Gown, HMUA, Coordinator) without discounts and outside of a bridal fair, partly because they dont join fairs much and also so we can wait until we're "sure" about choosing each of them before actually booking.

same here sis. all of our major suppliers were not booked sa bridal fair. we went to about 2 bridal fairs only. the one in smx, which was really huge. the other one, sa picc. mainly just to experience the whole thing, sympre exciting ang bridal fairs hehe. pero we didnt book a supplier without first thoroughly researching them. so ang nabook namin sa bridal fair ay photobooth, invitation printer, bridal car and wedding rings, thats about it. all the rest, talagang niresearch namin. besides, hindi din kasi sumasali ng bridal fairs yung major suppliers namin dahil sa daming ng clients, wala na din sila time to join.

share ko lang something positive naman about our experience sa bridal fairs -

VENUE - we were supposed to book them a week before but when we found out that they were joining the bridal fair, nagpa-extend na lang kami ng pencil booking. we got an instant 10k discount upon booking sa bridal fair, plus they had a raffle and we won an additional 2k. that's 12k na agad just for waiting for another week.

CATERER - almost half of the accredited caterers ng venue namin joined the same bridal fair so we were able to talk to them all. all of them had discounts, upgrades, freebies, some big, some konti lang. but what's important for us is that they were able to explain to us the inclusions AND exclusions para ma-set yung expectations. it was easier to decide once we had all the info we needed. plus we got to meet our AE agad.

PHOTOBOOTH - we have been eyeing this supplier from the beginning, we haven't seen kasi a lot of other suppliers that offer a similar service with the same quality so we were already sure we wanted to book them. sa bridal fair, they were able to explain to us their packages and buti na lang we waited to meet them first because we were able to customize our package pa. we got the 35k package, they gave us a free upgrade of the backdrop plus additional 3k discount.

we almost always meet our suppliers first before booking them, sobrang convenient lang with bridal fairs because they are already there in one venue. im also not good with haggling kaya masaya when we attend these events, we dont have to ask for discounts, they give it na agad.

anyway, sorry for the lengthy post. something to consider na rin about booking during bridal fairs. im not saying it will be the same for all, but it pays to know your options.

^yung iba sis they give freebies though you weren't able to attend the fair but mostly talaga pag on the spot booking.
