^hi sis. Wow same bday tayo. Happy birthday sa atin. :)

Anyway, about trial makeup sa bridal fairs, they usually require you to make a "deposit" of 2k-3k before they do the trial makeup.  Some naman free. Best to check with the HMUA suppliers who will join the upcoming Bridal Fair.

Hi everyone!

I went to the bridal fair at SMX yesterday. There are a ton of suppliers and they all offer discounts. I literally went home with an eco bag full of brochures. I did not book any supplier though because we haven't booked our church yet.

It was my 2nd bridal fair but it felt like my first. The 1st one was such a fail, it's not even worth mentioning. Ganun pala ang "tunay" na bridal fair noh? Maooverwhelm ka sa dami ng suppliers. At matetempt ka talaga magbook on the spot.

^ ganyan din kami nung una sis! puro brochures lang sa simula just to get the on going rates for certain suppliers for budgeting. the following bridal fairs were more productive because we were able to discuss na with the suppliers and actually book some. we realized mas okay talaga to wait for bridal fairs before booking kasi sayang discount and promos, kahit maliliit lang at least meron. happy wedding planning to us all!  :)

^I just want to share my thoughts about the other side of the coin.

Personally i have gone to 2, maybe 3 bridal fairs after I got engaged without booking anything. I just collected brochures for me to know about the prices and suppliers available.

My rule is never to get pressured to book a supplier that I haven't even researched yet, just because they offer a huge discount at the bridal fair. Of course they will, they will do just about ANYTHING to get bookings there because they paid so much to participate, lol. But if I backread after and find out that they're totally not worth it, then I'd end up regretting booking them at all. So just to be safe and avoid changing suppliers (which is of course magastos din in the end), I go home with just flyers. :)

In the first 3 months, we booked almost all our major suppliers (Venue, Photo, Video, Gown, HMUA, Coordinator) without discounts and outside of a bridal fair, partly because they dont join fairs much and also so we can wait until we're "sure" about choosing each of them before actually booking.

When the January fairs came along, it was just good timing because we were about to book our L&S and LED wall suppliers naman na talaga this month. We got small discounts, and they were the first ones I ever booked from a fair.

But honestly, if they are not your top (and only) choice for each category and you just felt compelled to get the discount they offer at the fair, DON'T book them! You may regret it. :) I've read some brides here saying they changed 2 or 3 of their suppliers because after booking sa bridal fair they were scared they wouldn't perform pala after doing research (and may negative reviews)... that's more magastos diba, you could have used the forfeited dp to get a better quality supplier. It makes me cringe to read posts na "we booked xxxxx during the fair kasi maganda package malaki discount, sino dito kumuha sa kanila, ok ba sila?" Sana may research naman kahit papano before shelling out money. Budget bride or not, it's more of being practical. :)

I'm proud to say that in the 15 suppliers we've chosen so far, kahit isa we have no doubts, and no plans of changing and we have full trust in them. So i feel like fully doing your homework is more important that securing discounts, if it comes down to choosing between. :) Hope this helps!

^couldn't agree more. out of 24 suppliers ko, I'm proud to say na well-reserached and/or highly recommended sila before I book them. Although I have 1 supplier na nagkaroon ng 1 untoward incident but when we met, I told the supplier about it para aware din sya and maging cautious na rin..i even communicated with the client she had and find out what went wrong.. at least hindi ako nagrefund and I was able to hear both sides. so confident parin ako na makakadeliver siya. Not all supplier naman ay perfect..even KbyC has negative issues pero some prefer to shrug it off just because gusto talaga nila ang supplier..same with RejectKrew. (LOL!)

Most of our suppliers have been well-researched or have been the family supplier for years, and those who have built a solid reputation in the industry. Out of the 3 or 4 fairs that we attended, we have only booked three suppliers there: 1) Photobooth; 2) Printer for our invitations; and 3) Strings. Photobooth is not really a priority so we just looked around on the first day. Did a quick search here in GT where the reviews seemed okay so we booked them the following day.

As for invitations, we noticed that there are a lot of invitation suppliers who attend bridal fairs so we decided to check them out. We just want them to print our invites because we commissioned someone else to do the design. Again, I just did a quick search in GT then booked them the next day. The owner was easy to talk to. And besides, if we encounter any problems with them, we can have them printed elsewhere. We allotted a 3-month allowance naman eh.

Regarding strings, my mum wanted to get this particular company for strings. I sent them an email beforehand and asked for inquiries then watched their videos online. Pero I was too lazy to schedule a meeting pa when I found out they were participating in the fair. So we just went there, discussed with the owners, who really know their craft and are easy to talk to as well, and booked them. Discount was only an added bonus. Hehe :)

About the discounts, sometimes hindi talaga discounts (although admittedly some really are)! There was one supplier where cheaper pa bigay samin when we negotiated with her outside the fair. Biniro nga namin siya (she was really nice and friendly with us), uy yung staff mo ha, mas mahal bigay samin dito sa fair tapos discounted na daw yun ha. Sabi nya, sa office na lang kasi tayo ulit mag-usap. hehe.  :P

^the suppliers we booked sa wedding fairs (by my coordinator) are the ffg only:
-K by C
-Frame up Display

The rest puro confirmation of booking via chat or email only. And mostly ako nagbook even if I'm overseas. Then my coordinator will pay them nalang after wiring the money to her.

Feb 20-22 sis! H2b and I will be there! Date narin namin kasi mansari namin hahaha! I'm booking photo video outside of the fair kasi may sarili silang discounts na inooffer sakin. Booked kbc catering last fair. Ang target ko this upcoming fair is mag usisa but not yet book invitations souvenir bridal car and makeup. Or same old styles pa rin?
