30-year-old with graduate degree?
- They're better off as business partners. Girls being smarter than me? That's just quite a bit intimidating because they "know it all"...

Best of both worlds?
- Will definitely look for a girl like this.

Girl who's got her own?
- These girls choose career over relationships! Like what the article states, they don't need a man in their life.

Hmmmm...

I think guys should look for someone who are compatible to them, who can understand them, and good in handling finances.

Compatible kasi dito iikot ang mundo ninyo for the rest of your lives, so importante na you enjoy each other's company.  Understanding, kasi lahat naman ng relationships may rough times, so dapat naiintindihan ka ng wife mo to be able to support you always.  Good in handling finances, kasi I believe the success/failure of a man always lies in the diskarte of the wife.

'kala ko it's about learning to love, accept and marry the girl you found,
and not finding the girl you can love, accept and marry

the author (a girl if you haven't noticed) was just giving out her thoughts on what guys should consider for marriage
albeit was kinda condescending about it.

in your opinion, kung para sa friends or brother nyo, what type of girls should guys go for?

^I have two brothers and no sister at all, so to answer your question bro these are the qualifications:

- mahal nya ang brother ko
- simple (not materialistic and maarte)
- marunong makisama

But what might work for one guy, might not work for the other guy.  So it still boils down to compatibility.

I'm not sure what kind of girl characteristics I'm looking for my bro, basta alam ko lang ang ayaw ko.
Preferable lang may breeding at social etiquette, hindi palangkera.. funny at smart. preferably pretty.

baka biased ako, but I will look down on the girl if my bro picks a girl who sleeps around with guys. ang ma.imagine ko lang may sakit siyang makuha because of her!

number one umayaw ko is SLUT haha
(and I'd probably think my bro is crazy if he picks a girl like that)

I'm not that restrictive sa kanya ;) As long as she loves my bro, stick-to-one siya and she makes my bro happy, ok na.

pero if he insists on someone I disapprove, sige nalang, wala na ako magawa.

after all, he's the one who's going to live with her his entire life, not me, so it's his call. hahahahahaha

If i had an unmarried brother (i only have one bro and he's married already), i'd probably want her to marry someone like me. Haha
-someone witg established career (independenr career women tend to nag less)
-someone with interesting hobbies (hindi pwedeng trabaho lang. Dapat may ibang alam gawin)
-someone who's close to her family and respects and loves her mom (so she'll respect and love our mom too)
-someone who's not too shy but not epal naman
-pretty! Gusto ko makinis ang skin. Not necessarily maputi. Kahit venus raj complexion basta makinis
-someone who'll appreciate my brother's independent life

Ayan. Yan. Hehe

The girl types in the article are all good in their own ways. So if you guys would be looking for these types of girls to marry, you should be able to keep up with their lifestyles and all. It's not enough that we look for the perfect partner (if there is such), but we should always try to improve ourselves to be the perfect partner for others too.

To answer the question on what type of girls guys should go for, based on the article, it'll probably the girl who's got her own. An amazing person on her own, an amazing person with a partner. You'll probably have an amazing relationship :)

Hindi ako ligawin nung single pa ako.  I was wondering bakit ganun.  At one point i told my friends na I'd probably end up an old maid.

That time, I was drowning myself in self-pity kasi iniisip ko, nasa akin naman lahat, bakit hindi ako attractive. I have a very good career tapos independent din ako - ako na nga ang naghahatid at sumusundo sa sarili ko (lol!) Hindi rin ako gimikera - I literally don't drink beer/alcohol.  Also, I am a traditional Catholic dahil na rin sa upbringing ko.

Married na ako ngayon.  As in within two months na nakilala ako ng asawa ko, nag-alok na agad ng kasal.  He was playing around with his fubus back then.  I wasn't aware what fubus were until I met him.

My take on this:

1.  Men really look into the physical side of things.  So kailangan eh physically and lustfully attracted sila sa girl.  Why? And men really want girls that they'd lust for.  Kahit tumanda ang mga lalaki, they'd still prefer na maganda yung asawa nila.

2.  Even if you have a career, you must see to it that you are still in control sa bahay.  Hindi kailangang maging full time housewife to do this.  You should know how to delegate and check with the kasambahays as to how yung pamamalakad sa bahay.

3.  The fastest way to a man's heart is through his stomach.

4.  May career.  Iba ang career sa trabaho.  Career is something na may "path" - may kinabukasan.  Hindi siya forever nasa rank and file.  May kinabukasan siya sa work niya.  Also, this comes with the fact na may sarili siyang pera.  Makakabili siya ng sarili niyang alahas.  Kung hindi palarin at one point si mister,  may plan B na si misis muna ang in charge "in the meantime."

6.  Marunong humawak ng pera.  She must be able to find a way na hindi ubos ang paycheck to paycheck.  She sets aside a portion of your kaban for the liquid savings, at the same time, may nakalagay sa insurance nyo, sa mutual funds, etc.

7.  Tanggap dapat ng family ng guy.  Let's face it that you marry the whole family. Dapat tanggap siya ng family ng guy because dapat kaya siyang mahalin ng in laws niya like their own.

8.  Maayos ang values.  Who would want a wife who was everyone else's hooker in her previous relationships? Your values determine who you are. Also, consider if the girl travels out of town with her exes na sila lang.  If you know what I mean.

I believe marami pa akong namiss out pero so far, ang haba na nitong naisulat ko hahaha. Sorry po :)

though I seldom interfere with my brother's choices (it's my parents' job to be the critics.. hehe.. ), I hope his future gf/wife would possess the following:

- not necessarily beautiful and sexy, but should be presentable enough, and more importantly, has a good personal hygiene.
- same religion or at least she's open-minded enough not to require my brother to convert to hers - from personal experience, differences in religion could mean different ways in raising a family especially the kids.
- good breeding and upbringing (not necessarily rich or well-off or "sosyal" -  but has the right social etiquette - not the "palengkera" type).
- has a good relationship with her own family (especially with her own mom)
- street-smart, resourceful, and "cowboy" (not high-maintenance)...
- does not have a bad reputation of having slept with every guy she knew and does not have a bad reputation of being disloyal to her past bf's..
- has her own career (and even her own set of hobbies and interests) and earns her own keep
- handles her own finances well - if she knows how to handle her personal money well, then it can be expected that she'll have no problems handling the family budget...

Nonetheless, the last say will still be with my brother... knowing him, I'm pretty sure that as he matures, we'll be having the a similar set of criteria..  :)

Well all my brothers are married na. Though wala naman ako issue sa mga sis-in laws ko given a chance eto yung mga qualities na a every "wifeable girl" should posses.

> God Fearing
> Respect my brother and my parents
> Love kids
> Knows household chores.
> Got a career
> Marunong sa pera
> Knows her priority at yun ay Family.

Compatibility naman kasi is within the individual. So the above are in general qualities. Most marriage kasi got issues with in-laws, money and different priorities.

-supportive
-faithful

gusto ko for my brother, and also traits na gusto kong meron ako/ganon ako before I get into marriage I guess

I have this quote of Ralph Marston onn my FB cover and I quote: An attitude of "whatever is convenient" won't accomplish very much. An attitude of "whatever it takes" is impossible to stop."

I guess both couples must have this attittude in order for the marriage to be successful.

^ wow. its like were back in the stone age.

i dont really think its whether a girl is smart or has a graduate degree. at the end of the day, it still boils down to whether you are on the same wavelength. u shud be able to "get" each other. not so much on the smartness or lack thereof.
