Ako, naramdaman ko nalang sya bigla. I've had BF's in the past, pero never pumasok sa isip ko or parang na imagine ano ba ang buhay ko kapag asawa ko na sila. Pero yung sa ex-bf ko (who is now my husband), ramdam na ramdam ko na sya talaga yung gusto ko makasama. Siguro lahat ng qualities na gusto ko or na picture out ko na "ideal husband" sa kanya ko nakita.  ;D I don't know if makakatulong yan, ang hirap kasi i explain eh. Eh si husband naman, yung nakita daw nya ako, ang sabi nya agad dun sa barkada nya, "She's the one". So nag jive naman ang mga puso at isip namin. haha!.

how long have you been together?

Happy to bumped into this thread. I have a bf for more than 9 years na (maaga lang ako nagBF, I'm still 23 y/o). He's 6 years older than me. Nagsta-start pa lang ako in building my career while siya halos na-achieve na niya life goals niya. Pero deep inside, I know he's the one. I prayed for that. I think, it happened na lang talaga. :) Lahat ng ka-weirdohan namin, tinanggap namin sa isa't-isa, I mean na-iintindihan ko talaga siya. I feel so lucky to have him in my life.

Perhaps, while you are seeing so many people now, don't worry too much about knowing if she is the one. Just enjoy the moment and it will come to you.. Good luck!!!

Thoughts from someone who has been married for 4.5 years and counting.
We got together when I was 18 and he was 22. He asked me to marry him on our 8th year anniversary.. So we've been together 13 years and loving every moment..

Also, you know she's the one if you have found that one person you want to annoy for the rest of your life... and she doesn't mind...

Hahahah. I coudnt agree more.. lalo na yung last. it makes me feel wanting to annoy someone today.. /gg ... hehe

Parang "The more you hate, the more you love" ba ito.  :)

This topic really caught my attention because right now I was actually looking for "THE ONE". I even go for a dating site and posted there I am looking for THE ONE. Hahahaha nakakatawa nga e medyo frustrated na e. I had 6 failed relationships na kasi at parang nagiging stepping stone pa ako ng mga exes ko since after their relationship with me kinakasal na sila. So sad for me kasi di ako ang naging THE ONE nila :(. So I guess ang paghahanap ng THE ONE was actually favorable sa mga guys and not for gurls kasi guys naman magdedecide diba if they will marry the girl or not. So I guess si guy talaga ang makakapagsabi if ng THE ONE nila.

Sharing..

In your life, you'll make note of a lot of people. Ones with whom you shared something special, ones who will always mean something. There's the one you first kissed, the one you first loved, the one you lost your virginity to, the one you put on a pedestal, the one you're with...and the one that got away.
Who is the one that got away? I guess it's that person with whom everything was great, everything was perfect, but the timing was just wrong. There was no fault in the person, there was no flaw in
the chemistry, but the cards just didn't fall the right way, I suppose.

I believe in the fact that ending up with someone, finding a longtime partner that is, does not lie merely in the other person. I can actually argue that an equal part, or maybe even the greater part, has to do with the matter of timing.

It has to do with you being ready to settle down and commit to someone in a way that goes beyond the little niceties of giddy romance. How often have you gone through it without even realizing it? When you're not ready to commit in that mature manner, it doesn't matter who you're with, it just doesn't work. Small problems become big; inconsequential become deal breakers simply because you're not ready and it shows.

It's not that you and the person you're with are no good; it's just that it's not yet right, and little things become the flashpoint of that fact.

Then one day you're ready. You really are. And when this happens you'll be ready to settle down with someone. He or she may not be the most perfect, they might not be the brightest star of romance to ever have burned in your life, but it'll work because you're ready. It'll work because it's the right time and you'll make it work.

And it'll make sense, it really will. So that day comes when you're finally making sense of things, and you find yourself to be a different person. Things are different, your approach is different, you finally understand who you are and what you want, and you've become ready because the time has truly arrived. And mind you, there's no telling when this day will come. Hopefully you're single but you could be in a long-term relationship, you could be married with three kids, it doesn't matter.

All you know is that you've changed, and for some reason, the one that got away, is the first person you think about. You'll think about them because you'll wonder, "What if they were here today?" You'll wonder, "What if we were together now, with me as I am and not as I was?" That's what the one that got away is.

The biggest "What if?" you'll have in your life. If you're married, you'll just have to accept the fact that the one that got away, got away. Believe me, no matter how fairy tale you think your marriage is, this can happen to the best of us. But hopefully you're mature enough to realize that you're already with the on e you're with and this is just another test of your commitment, one which will just strengthen your marriage when you get past it. Sure, you'll think about him/her every so often, but it's alright. It's never nice to live with a "might have been," but it happens.

Maybe the one that got away is the one who's already married. In which case it's the same thing. You just have to accept and know that your memories of that person will probably bring a nice little smile to your lips in the future when you're old and gray and reminiscing.

But if ever you do find him/her again, invite her/him out. You might not get the chance to do it.. but would it be nice to have an opportunity to say to that person - "Hey you, you're the One that almost got away".

great work to the one that posted above this. it's really all a matter of timing.

but more than that, i think there is no "THE ONE". there is just your decision. ang sabi sakin ng lola ko dati, everything in life is a decision. this is the most valuable lesson i've learned in life.

yung "the one" is really just the movies. when you get down to it and think sanely, it's really just 2 things: your standards, and your 'connection' with the other person. yung spark kumbaga.

let me give an example. about a year ago, i went out with someone who was a 9 (out of 10) in the sparks department (we can talk endlessly) but a 4 in my standards. that didn't work.

i easily meet people who are 9 in my standards, pero 3 lang pag i rate ko un connection namin ( i mean, you just can't be hot, this thing has to be organic) so that doesn't work either.

but i have found someone who was maybe 7 or 8 per my standards ( of everything, good looks, kagandahang loob, talino) and we were a 9 sa sparks and i'd totally go for that. once i decide that i'm ready, then a relationship with that person would be "the one" but i dunno if that will last forever, etc but i guess once i'm ready i'll be mature enough not to let someone that valuable in my life go.

so just my 2 cents, don't be superstitious about it and depend on fate (or mercury retrograde, whatever) but don't just rely on your scale of 1 to 10 for standards either. make it a balance of both. if we have a strategy for our careers, or how we educate ourselves through out life, or how we become fitter and stronger, we also have to have a strategy for our love life. i mean, do it intelligently, para no regrets.

This is an interesting thought.  I'm just curious as regards to your standards.  Is it constant over time despite all the experiences and learnings?  Moreover, is it possible that you've once thought that the spark is level 10 already and then you meet someone who made you feel better than 10?  I just believe that it's always possible to find someone better than the other and better.  And let's say you used to be happy with level 10 that's because you don't know it can be exceeded.  But, what if it was?  Would you stick with the one you've settled with.

@bliss15: i think my standards have evolved thru the years. right now they tend to be more on the ideal side and yet they are not superficial things that i'm looking for. so i've come to realize that these 'ideals', these things in your head that you consider worthy of your time, if i happen to come upon them in my day to day life thru a person, i will assess my connection with that person, and it doesn't have to be a 9 in the sparks department actually. as long as there's something there and it's real and we're not faking it, i will decide to grow with that person. to grow that connection. because i truly believe that i can grow by myself and it's perfectly alright and i'm not overly scared of being alone. but i've  also come to believe that 'feelings' are just the seed of a loving relationship, that in the end, it's really about 2 people challenging each other, enhancing each other, yet looking out for each other. i mean, the other person makes you better just by being in your life.

it's like there's this large deep pool, and say you can only really swim up to 7 or 8 feet. but there's this person in your life that swims up to 11 or 12 feet, and you swim that much further just to be together. it is very rare that you happen to meet someone that does that to you, so when you do, you commit, you decide, you promise to stand by that decision. you don't go asking yourself, what if i meet someone better, someone i will have more feelings for. because in the end, it's not just your feelings anymore, it's what you've built together, it's how you've made better people out of each other.

He/She's the one , we can't never tell, we're living in a fast-pace environment and at times we for our selves won't notice that we are changing too. What matter's is that you, yourself is ready to respect and love someone and you can carry both of your baggage along your way.

May guy friend ako na nagsabi na the moment na unang kita pa lang niya sa girl alam na niyang yun yung mapapangasawa niya and sabi nila malalaman mo daw if siya na yung the one pag may spark certain spark daw.I think God will hit you one day pag nakita mo na yung the one mo yung tipong no doubt no ifs basta sure na sure ka na siya na gusto mong makasama forever. :)
