i guess that's a lesson learned

1.  have an emergency fund before you invest
2.  do some form of cost averaging
3.  always have some portion of your porfolio in cash so you won't miss opportunity
4.  cash in little by little on your gains to lock some profits

di pa rin nakakabawi fully ang port ko from the all time high gains, pero at least di na sya red lahat

added ANS again nung bumaba sya sa 6.65... may divs sya na 0.25 this month end
price is now 7 so that's already an upside, plus the divs

^ wala akong pang average down nun May and June correction. Etong recent hindi naman masyadong bumaba yun price kaya hindi din ako bumili. Hinintay ko yun announcement ng FED last Sept to buy more kaso hindi natuloy. Sana magkaron ulit ng correction bago tumaas yun market.

Don't worry, eischied_21. Just consider the losses as "tuition fee", and we all pay it. Ako nga, I just computed that had I just sat down and waited when I first opened my account in July, I would've already made over 10% on my capital today instead of trying to gain back losses. But then again, I wouldn't be pushed to further study technical and fundamental analyses. I guess that was my tuition fee, and even though my portfolio is poorer, my knowledge is much richer for it.

hi mga sis! now na lang ulit ako naging active s thread na ito after a year when i gave birth  thread 7 n pala. 

need your advice. i opened  my col account last year solely for long term investment atleast 10 years sana before i sell. i bought SMPH now with 2.70% gain. plan ko sana to add. what you guys think? add more SMPH or try other blue chip naman. wait sana ako bumaba pa ang SMPH below 16.45/sh sana since that's the price when i bought it kaso mejo naiinip na ko e originally, plano ko sana cost averaging talaga every month to buy kaso di ko din nasusunod regularly, so since i have spare i want to buy more now.

Hay, buti naman slowly nag-pe-pay-off na ang kakaaral ko ng mga charts na 'to. Nakapwesto din sa isang fundamentally and technically sound stock na kumita naman ng 8% within the day today. Isang buwanang sweldo na lang ang babawiin ko sa losses ko. LOL.

^^I read some blog's study on FPH (and FGEN) and apparently, it's not fundamentally sound right now? But yung isa namang blog na fundamentalist din, bullish naman. Ewan ko ba, baka pana-panahon lang din.

sumweldo ako sa paluwagan 6 weeks ago. sabi ko tamang-tama ang baba ng prices kasi super down stock market. half of that sweldo nagamit ko to buy more MER and JFC shares and was able to average down. target ko to add din AC lalo na when it reached P535 yata? kaya lang half naman ng sweldo hindi ko nagamit kasi nautang lang ng friends and family tsk tsk. sayang now parang ang tataas ng prices pero ok na rin 3 out of 5 stocks ko ngayon green na! and green din total portfolio for weeks na ha kakaaliw na haha! parang baliw lang lang hehe

AC actually reached flat 500 , i bought mine at 550, pero ngayon may gain naman na, [textspeak!] fph nga pababa ng pababa

double digit gain ako dapat kay FPH nung nasa kataasan nya. di ko binenta kasi feeling ko maganda naman mga subsidiaries nila.  bumagsak ang price.  double digit loss din ako.

walang choice kungdi bumili ulit sa low price para makabawi ng konti.  nung umakyat ulit sa 90, sold half.  pa-unti unti nawala na rin sya, pero i had to take a hit of less  than 1k.

pwede na rin kasi at least na-unlock ko ang funds ko mula sa kanya at nailipat sa mas matatag na company.  iwas muna sa FPH.  Nag-gap up ito from 68 nung June.  Kaya i-revisit nya yang price na yan, to fill the gap.

16 ang support ng SMPH.  mukhang maiinip ka na maghintay sa 14-15/sh.  why not buy half of your target purchase at 16, then buy again kapag nag-dip.  kung hindi mag-dip, ibig sabihin, gain ka na. 

Parang year of Consumer Products ngayon.  Look at JFC, PGOLD at URC.  Walang paki-alam kasi bumaba ang market since after election.  Marami kasi talagang money to burn ang mga Pinoy.  Konti lang sa atin ang nag-iipon.  Mas ibinibili ang pera ng household items kapag dumarating.
