Image is nothing but smoke and mirrors, so what others think about work-from-home careers mean nothing to me. Actually, not having to maintain an image or a reputation is one of the top perks of working from home. You don't need to have a nice office. You don't need to constantly spend to keep your wardrobe updated. You can keep driving a shitty car. You don't even have to brush your hair. And you'd still get work and get paid. Bottomline, that's what matters.

What shut people up about my "raket lang" or "easy" work-from-home job: seeing the things that I have been able to invest in, like our house, property, car, and businesses. I'm still always in my pajamas/pambahay though, and it's such an effort for me to get dressed. Haha. Formed habits are hard to break.

i just recently resigned from my day job kasi kelangan ko bantayan anak ko since umalis na yaya nya..may existing account na ako sa odesk pero ngayon ko pa lang talaga sya matututukan since wala na ako day job..so far 1 got 2 candidacy pero hindi pa rin ako nakukuha..nakaka frustrate pero try lang ng try since wala pa akong experience sa odesk, ni walang stars or hours..hoping talaga na makapag work na ako ulit..God bless to everyone na nag a-apply!

^ Yes, tama sis. I usually browse the first few job postings lang. Yung mga tipong hours na kakapost lang.

Tapos, fabricate your cover letter such that it addresses the needs of the employers and that you're the one who can give that need. Wag masyadong i-highlight lang yung mga achievements mo. Say what you can GIVE to the employers given your previous experiences.

Address the name of the employer if you know his/her name. You have to be witty and funny din in your cover letter if the job calls for it. This type of cover letter works. Just saying na a serious and boring tone would not snag you that creative writing job.

been receiving several invites for interview this past week, sad lang that i had to decline since for full time work yung mga invite. i can't do full time work at the moment since may "day job" din ako. looking for a part time work or project basis lang sana.

Just started oDesk this week and I already have 2 active candidacies. I'll be starting next week yung isa, Pinoy employer siya and mababa talaga rate nya. Not sure about the other one since we still haven't reached a conclusion. Complicated ang pinagawa and gusto nya ASAP matapos ang work. :/

Iwas ka na lang sa Pinoy employer sis, kasi halos lahat yata sila ay mababa talaga ang offer.

Ok lang ASAP gusto matapos ang work basta ok ang bayad.

Mahirap talaga sis kung bihira mag-browse ng jobs or bihira mag-apply. Isa yan sa golden rule, ang tuloy tuloy na pag-aapply (if you want na marami or regular work).

yup, been applying sa fixed projects and part time. di kasi talaga kakayanin ang full time gawa nang mga nare-receive kong offers ay not flexi time and conflict yung sched sa work ko. emea shift kasi ako sa work so gitnang gitna. can't accept full time aussie clients and us clients.

got an invite for interview last night. invite only yung job and so far 5 applicants pa lang and 2 pa lang kaming nasa interview stage. i think yung 3, either hindi pa nakita yung invite or not interested sila. sana ako yung kunin ni client. i think i did well naman sa test niya. i'm really crossing my fingers at mukhang okay yung client. maganda yung reviews sa kanya and mukhang okay ang salary. by thursday daw lalabas yung results sabi nung interviewer.

Hi girls!

Who's working as a freelance / homebased Graphic Designer? I got a job offer through a third party agency I've found online. The usual rate they advise employers to give out their VAs who specialize in Graphic Design is between $600-$1200. I'll be asking for a $700, but my pinoy interviewer insisted that I get $750 a month. Bigla kong naisip, sana pala nag $850 na ko kung mababa pa pala yung $700! Hehe.

Kayo? What do you think is the ideal monthly salary para sa ganitong position? Client is looking for a Senior Graphic Designer who will be working 40 hours a week, so full-time. Australian sya pero flexitime ang offering. Astig di ba. Ang graphic design needs nya ay mostly mga marketing collateral like brochures, banners, flyers, some simple web pages, etc. I have 5 years naman of GD experience.

Hay naku, biglang nagcancel yung client. Nakakainis. Ang tagal kong naghitay tapos wala rin pala. Buti na lang si agency may nahanap na bagong client, mas mababa nga lang nang konti: $700 tapos hindi flexi time, 8 hrs yung nakalagay, di ko pa alam papaano ang break. Nagpaprofile na rin ako, try lang. Although I admit, hindi ako masyadong confident sa job description na to. Mas swak sakin yung unang client na nagcancel. Anyway, di naman ako totally clueless sa isang to. Siguro kaya ko rin aralin. Hindi nga lang ako ganung kaconfident. hehe. Yun nga lang, hindi pa sakin talaga ang job na to. 3 kaming ieendorse for client interview, at malamang isa lang ang pipiliin. Kinakabahan ako.

Sisses, pag hindi napunta sa akin to, baka matagalan na bago makahanap ang agency ng bagong client na GD ang hanap. Mostly kasi, general Virtual Assistant na ang gusto eh. No choice ako kundi magtry ng office based jobs ulit. Hay. Mas mababa yun at mas maraming bawas. 20k-25k lang offer

hi mga sis, im new at odesk. last year pa ko nagcreate ng account, but last night ko lang ulit binalikan. inupdate ko yung profile ko and took some free tests. medyo may idea na ko on how odesk works, kasi dati sa freelancer.com, nagmember din ako and i was able to get translation jobs.
but sa odesk medyo parang strict sya? like need to have cover letter when applying for a job? tapos may interview pala? pano yung interview mga sis? im looking for part-time data entry jobs lang muna, tipong after office or weekend jobs. may fulltime work kasi ako. i have no idea how much i should offer pag sa data entry. mga magkano ba ongoing rate per hour dapat? medyo naooverwhelm ako sa dami ng info at jobs hehe kahit dito sa gt ang dami na pala thread ng odesk, dont know where and how to start
hope someone can assist me kung paano magsisimula
