So my younger brother got engaged also this week and decided to overtake my 2016 wedding by getting married in Dec. 2015. They don't want to wait till 2017 pa daw since they are both in their mid 30s and want to start having kids.

Im not big on pamahiins. But I asked them to give me a gift since I read here that if a younger sibling gets married before you then they should give you a gift. Should that fix it? Hehe well technically its my 2nd wedding so baka not needed, but to play safe I asked for a gift hehe.

Second, I just dug up my wedding gown from my 1st marriage/wedding. Is it a bad idea to bring this to a designer and ask them to redesign the gown? I already got a designer for my main gown for this wedding. However, parang na sayangan ako with my old gown and want to recycle it. Malas ba yon? To use an old gown from a failed marriage even if I have it torn up and totally redesigned? It was an intricate gown and parang I want to re-use it haha.

hi sis Chili1113, i will just have my opinion :) the first one i think not needed but if you like and they are willing to give then take the gift...nothing to lose hehe
just to share my 2nd kuya has overtaken my ate. he didn't even give a peso to ate hehe but nonetheless i think they are ok.. hipag is a housewife.. ate is a housewife :) i can say both well provided for families
my bestfriend's 2nd kuya overtaken overtaken the eldest, he gave a pesos LoL.. both families are rich hehe
my opinion, with or without same :)

the second one, sorry sis but my honest opinion here - please don't recycle your gown for your wedding. i strongly believe this coming wedding of yours will be a successful marriage. kahit mura na gown as long as it is new for new beginnings din sis :) pardon me for my opinion.. i just want happy endings :)

my experience is, my parents were separated decades ago and mom already gave me their wedding rings i know the diamonds are of good quality and mom even offered to shoulder the cost of remodeling it.. don't know the proper term.. sabi ko sa kanila, kahit po ipa bless natin yan at ilubog sa holy water hindi yan ang wedding rings namin.. hehe.. i still took the rings and will save up and remodel it as an earring or pendant sayang din un diamonds hahaha

btw, we will not have a diamond setting sa wedding rings dahil we don't have a budget for it, our wedding rings are less than 20k php :)

hehe I dont think fiance or anyone would even notice haha But yeah thanks for pointing that out. I didnt consider that! I was thinking lang of ripping up my old gown and using some of the embroidery for like an after-party dress haha. But yeah maybe it is a bad idea! I just cant believe my old gown from 10 years ago costs even a bit more than as my new gown, so parang sayang haha But yeah...bad idea and in poor taste! Thanks ladies!!

My parents believed in that pamahiin and I gave my older brother piso just for the lols ::)

So as not to be sayang, sell it na lang here's one option http://lovemeagaincouture.com/ or maybe in other countries where people don't believe in luck or pamahiins hehe.

I there a superstition or "pamahiin" regarding the secondary veil? About it falling off? Hehe I just watched the video of my 1st wedding and I just noticed that my secondary veil slowly fell off my head. It was pinned on my main veil on the shoulder area, so later on it fell from over my head and was hanging on my shoulder. Well that 1st marriage didn't last very long haha

I don't know nga if there is such a thing! Although I am not a very superstitious person naman, but I just noticed my secondary veil fell off my head. T

hese are the superstitions I have heard about.

1. Bad luck if a secondary candle gets blown away
2. You will not prosper if you jiggle the coins while is being passed on to you.-- But my mom jiggled hers at her wedding bec she didnt know, and my dad told her to stop haha But OK naman naging finances nila throughout the marriage.
3. You aren't supposed to wear pearls at your wedding - pearls symbolize water--tears.

Oh yes ive heard about the candles too! And even pagsindi, it should be one attempt lang raw. Before we are using posporo talaga during the candle lightening dba. The candles are lot to signify something daw, yung tipong paghindi daw agad nagsindi e mamatay or magkakasakit, tapos during the ceremony kapag namatay yung isang kandila sabi its about the faith of the person. Like kung nasa side ng bride yung namatay na candle, magloloko si bride or magkakasakit. Stuff like that. hehe.
Kaya ngayun lighter na ang gamit. Hahaha.

Yeah, one of our SS did not want to be assigned to the candle kasi nga the light (from both match/lighter and candle) should never be out.

Meron din sa secondary veil though I only know it should be white, should cover the bride's face during the ceremony, and should be kept (together with the coins) in the couple's household. Never heard about falling off hehe.

They should wait for the couple to exit before they go out. This is to avoid daw maagang pagka"balo".
Hehe..  ;)

LOL in my first wedding it took them several times to light one of the secondary candles, plus the secondary veil fell off my head

Didn't know that alam ko lang the first spouse who steps out of the church door eh mas may "upper hand" daw in the relationship so dapat mauna daw ang babae.

Eh ang hirap with all the gown and veil haha I was last one out. Di naman ako under ::)

Like nung wedding night namin di kami pwede matulog kami lang sa room and take note bawal kami matulog. As in seriously? Sa sobrang pagod sa wedding that day bawal matulog. For longer married life daw yun.

Una na lang, namatay ang father ni h2b last March pero we've decided to push through with our Sept 2015 wedding. Ang mahalaga lang ay yung strong faith natin kay God and He should be the center of our relationship lalo na ngayon:)

^hehe no prob sis!! Im totally OK and open naman about my 1st marriage heheh I feel so lucky and happy that things turned out perfectly well for me and my son. Im not really a superstitious person. But then again there are some things that don't hurt to follow naman. But one thing I will not follow is the superstition on not trying on the wedding gown!! LOL di na talaga uso yun.

And yes, I believe that the most important thing is our trust and faith in God.

Hehe sukob is the one superstition we still practice in the family hehe Even my friends still practice this just to make sure. It is easy to follow anyway and it won't hurt to follow it.

For me, I am only willing to follow superstitions if they are easy to follow. But not if the superstitions are just too odd, difficult, or go beyond common sense and logic. For example, avoiding the secondary veil falling off the head, or candles being blown away, or not fitting the wedding dress are just too much hassle to worry about.

OT but think about it. Because of Feng Shui type of superstitions the owners of  Ozone Disco made their main door swing inward instead of outward.  Look at how many lives were lost, and how much "bad luck" they encountered by being superstitious and going against common sense!
