No. Napag-usapan na namin to before pa kami nagpakasal, and buti naman at pareho kami ni hubby ng views. We both prefer to deal with marriage and household issues on our own, kesehodang pumalpak kami, at least we can learn from those experiences. Some days, we just want to be lazy and do nothing or just curl up in bed all day. LOL!
I love my in-laws, and they love me too. In fact, nakakapagtravel ako with them kahit di kasama si hubby (me, F-ILand MIL; or me, MIL and BIL; etc). But ilang araw lang yun e, 10days at most, so easier to tolerate. And we visit them every 1-2weeks.. pero iba kasi pag nakikitira na.. Pag bagong kasal, mas mainam mag-adjust sa buhay-mag-asawa ng kayong dalawa lang. And I am happy din that my F-IL believed in giving married kids privacy and independence. Napagsasabihan pa nya dati si MIL pag feeling nya masyado ng mausisa, hehe.. I really felt like I lost a dad for the second time when F-IL died, kasi he was really a good man.
When hubby's younger bro got married (nakabuntis), di sila financially-independent tapos me parating pang baby. MIL wanted them to stay sa kanila, but F-ILsaid no. What F-IL did, he looked for an apartment near sa kanila, and shouldered the rent (and electricity for a year, LOL). And since walking distance lang sa kanila, F-IL instructed MIL to minimize, if not, avoid "surprise" visits and to control her urge to meddle (especially sa pagpapalaki ng apo).
F-IL wanted his married sons and daughters-in-law na magkaroon ng sariling diskarte sa buhay mag-asawa, kaya sya mismo gusto na bumukod ang mga anak pag me asawa na. But he made it clear to us na if and when we need anything (financial, emotional or kung ano mang problema), magsabi lang and the family will be there to support/help us.
