I don't understand why some women stay in an abusive relationship just to "save" their family.
A violent person can't change, if he can hurt you, then he can hurt your kids too.
There are more complicated reasons to that... I used to think that way too.until.

I agree with what Sis Aquacharly said:
Why do women stay with physically abusive husbands/partners?
IMO, most who do that are economically/financially dependent on the abusive man
There is no abuser if there is no victim.
Tama
Kung alam ng engzngot na yan you can live without him;
that you can support your kids (if any) on your own;
that you know your worth & you will not tolerate being punched around - he will hit the wall or break things, not break your body parts.
The saddest story in history is not the rise and fall of empires.
It is the not rare story of men who woo a woman they put on a pedestal, just to later on drag her down & step on her. It is how some men address their being "small" -- they make their partner/wife "smaller", instead of making themselves bigger.
The cycle of abuse:
Idealize.
Devalue
Discard.
Repeat cycle.
Sa idealization stage kasi, sobrang sarap ng feeling, parang nasa langit ka...perfect na perfect.. to the point na
naging addicted ka na sa ganun kasarap na emotions. Then pag nag umpisa na ang pang aabuso, dahil nga
naging dependent ka na sa partner mo and how he made u feel at first, you will start to believe na
IKAW ANG MAY PROBLEMA, that you are to blame for his change. Then you think, IF ONLY i become a better partner
baka bumalik yung dati...baka hindi na niya ako saktan and so on and so on... and they get stuck because the moment
they show the abuser na they're trying to escape...madalas sinusuyo sila ng abuser nila, promising sweet words, na hindi na
mauulit...and boy!can these abusers be very convincing

so the cycle repeats
Most abusers are sociopaths, they do not think the way normal people do.
I wish getting out of an abusive relationship were that easy...sana tulad sa movies na bang! Isang suntok lang, kinabukasan
lumaban na si girl...

sana. But sadly in real life... real s*** happens. And yung sinasabi mo na ikaw pa may kasalanan
bakit ka niya binugbog kasi you provoked him? Classic.
to TS: Know your self worth. ... And in as much as we all know you want to save your relationship... try to save yourself and your kids first
These kind of men rarely change. Kung kaya mong mabuhay ng 30years bilang punching bag choice mo yan. Maybe he we change.
Maybe he won't. But please don't risk your life and your kids' lives on maybes...
And yes, make sure he knows na you won't take any of the crap he's giving you anymore. I know its easier said than done,
but no matter what our shortcomings may be, nobody deserves to be physically abused by their partners.
