I also do this... medyo irritating lang yung ibang tao nagsasabi ng babagal metabolism ko ek ek. Girl, you have no idea what you're talking about ang iniisip ko.

So how does it really work kung nagugutom ka within the hours na you're not supposed to eat? So what is the science behind it again?

I don't eat "whatever" I want during the nonfasting window. I eat pero controlled portions and absolutely no junk. I'm just happy I'm eating something lol

Yup, in any time kasi, if you eat junk, if will just increase your cravings from time to time, addictive sila (chocolates, chips, sweets).

How do you deal with tummy grumbles? I read somewhere that mint candy can help alleviate this but I have not tried it yet.

^^^girltalker2, http://www.fitmole.org/fasting-to-lose-weight/ and http://evidencemag.com/intermittent-fasting-weight-loss/ :)

for the upcoming new year, my husband and I agreed to fast for about 16-18 hours everyday. If our last meal was at dinner time, say 8pm at the latest, our next meal would be at 12noon the next day. That's a 16 hour fast. But normally we have dinner earlier :)

if kaya ko, I'd fast 24 hours once a week. I did this before and surprisingly, doable sya and hindi naman super hirap.

I did this 2 months and super bilis ko naglose :))) Sa super bilis, parang pwede mo laruin nalang yung diet and just go back here once in a while. I took a break kasi dami ganap this December na iba't iba oras. After Christmas, seryosohin ko na ulit :)) Gusto ko super payat at underweight. (Not anorexic ah)

Almost one month na akong practicing this and I can say that this is the diet that best suits me.

In terms of weight, not much lost. Mga 1-2 lbs lang BUT I know I've lost some cos my clothes fit better. Even with minimal or almost no exercise, I still lost weight and I could see differences sa body ko. Kaya I like this diet so much kasi di drastic ang weight loss to the point na ang pangit na ng itsura ng katawan. Tapos it's flexible kasi you could adjust the times ng eating/fasting depende sa schedule mo (lalo na kung may 'eating' / 'pig out' sessions).

I must admit though that there are times na di ko nakukumpleto ang 16 hours fasting window. What I make sure lang is that there's at least 12 hours fasting/difference from my last meal. I will try to go back to having some exercise. Sana magawa ko rin na magfast kahit na one whole day.

I said that I was going to do this last year, but failed to do so. Now, serious na.
I just started... two days ago. So, I would eat from 11.30am to 7.30pm. So, I really get the full 16 hours of fasting. So far, comparing Days 1 & 2 of the GM Diet, this is much tolerable (but there was a phase also that GM was so easy na for me!) Anyway, I intend to keep doing this for February and I shall see how I progress. Wish me luck!!!

hmm, this is interesting!

I think this could work for me, since I work at night. I can fast while in the office until lunch time. Maybe from 8pm - 12nn  :)

Question: can I turn to oatmeal for my meal in the 8 hour window time? or is it too much?
Would it just result to rebound effect?

TIA!

^Hi erin 03! I think you can eat your regular meals naman and not just oatmeal during the 8-hour window period. Having oatmeal lang is not sustainable. I suggest you download MyFitnessPal so you can monitor your calorie count. In my case, my target is 1000-1200 calories which I have to consume between 8am-4pm (my window period since I can't really do my exercise during the fasting state) :)

I did this when I got married. It was effective and more importantly, sustainable. Yun nga lang, nakalimutan ko. Hehe. Good thing, naligaw uli ako sa thread na ito.

Anyway, done with week 1 and I've lost 1.5 kg na. I was able to eat our usual meals but I make sure that the serving size is within my target calories. I also exercised 4x that week (cardio, weights, yoga, pilates). I also allowed myself to eat after 4pm nung Saturday and have pancakes with maple syrup and ice cream plus cafe late for breakfast nung Sunday (but I just ate camote and boiled egg for lunch so I stayed within my target calories naman). Staying away muna from chips because I retain water with these. So far, so good. Here's to week 2! :)

I tried this and effective talaga. I work nightshift, so mine is 8-4pm, and I'm used to not eating at night kasi wala ako gana kumain madalas sa gabi and early morning so it works for me.:)

I've lost 4 kgs since January 1... wala pang exercise kasi I hurt my back and up to now di pa nakakarecover

so anyway, I don't have brekkie and my lunch and dinner I keep to a maximum 500 calorie limit. I don't snack in between kasi hindi naman ako gutom so why bother

pag saturday and sunday, hindi maiiwasan may dinner or lunch sometimes both days pa. So what I do is I fast for 24 hours for 1 or 2 days, depending on how sinful my weekend was. So dinner lang kinakain ko (na maximum 500 cal limit pa rin) for 2 days to make up for my sins :P
