i dont think i compared Lea to Regine nor to any artists. I dont care about the showbiz or whatever they do. I was just telling my own experience and i'm entitled of what i feel. Other OPM artists naman went to see our exhibit. Ang ambisyosa kasi namin to invite a huge star.

no one said you are not entitled to what you feel. i'm just saying that its unfair to label a big artist like her a 'snob' just because she didn't show up in your exhibit. hindi naman niya nilait-lait ang exhibit ninyo di ba? she gets a lot of invitations prolly from everyone of every group here and abroad and i don't expect her to reply to all these invitations. and yes, i believe that it's an ambitious undertaking to expect someone like her to be in your event. sabi ko nga suntok sa buwan na pangarap yan.

Without meaning to dismiss any poster's personal experience with Lea or any celebrity, I am not sure Lea Salonga falls in the category of this thread based on the title which is Celebrities na Lumaki ang ulo because of success and popularity.

I agree with Izabelle's point that some celebrities, Lea being a good example, have been consistently aloof naman with the public, so it's not like success "changed" Lea. In fact, Lea herself has admitted in several interviews that she acknowledges that she never made it big enough to be a hit & very popular in the Philippines because hindi siya magaling mag charm ng masses. She has admitted that she is not good at turning it on and being chikka, and charming and sweet to win over the masses.

Even people that know her very well (I have several friends that were Lea's good friends when she was living in NY) say that Lea is the type that takes a long time to warm up to people. She's really initially aloof and distant which could be viewed as snobbish by some people. That's consistently been her personality, in and out of showbiz.

Personally I think there's a difference and yes a fine line between being a snob and being rude. I can also see how being a snob can also be seen as being rude by some people.

But bottom-line and based on the subject of this thread, I don't think success has changed Lea since it seems ganoon naman talaga yung ugali niya from before.

with Lea.. my tita met her na sa London before. my tita told us na hindi nga sya palakibo.. and since she lived in London for quite sometime din mukhang naadapt na rin daw ni Lea ang british attitude na super straight forward coz nung nagkaroon daw ng event sa UK with some other pinoys medyo straight forward daw talaga si Lea pero my tita likes her of being mabait daw sa mga PA and other helpers nya yun nga lang daw if you're the typical pinoy na sanay sa kapwa pinoy then you'll never appreciate Lea daw talaga.

another thing is I have to agree with Toni G. and the sis na angsabi na lagi nya sinisigawan yung PA nya. when we're in ABS kasi for a school project nakita namin si toni palabas ng dressing room and tinatawag yung PA, i think may ipapakuha ata sya then the PA is talking to someone that time at paglapit ni PA kay toni sabi na lang ni toni "kanina pa kita tinatawag ang tagal mo, ako pa ba lalapit sayo" (in a shouting manner) i even thought na pabiro kasi i just find her na iisa lang ang tono pag nagsalita but when i looked at the PA, nakayuko and saying sorry to toni that's the time na narealize na "ay serious pala, maldita pala sya"

i would agree jan kay toni, that's why i really don't like her. hindi totoo na mabait yan nagbabait baitan lang yan super snob at laki ng ere sa ulo kaya nga fluppy ng hair niya eh may ventilation nag stem out sa bungo niya. hehe

Sorry din but I agree. Hindi naman maganda ang maging snob pero I agree that you can't put Regine Velasquez sa level ni Lea Salonga. She is Lea Salonga, she worked hard to become what she is right now.

I agree! kung palakihan lang ang ulo pag-uusapan mas may credibilidad si Lea compare to Regine. Masakit sa tenga kumanta si Regine sa totoo lang, as if naman yung pagiging song bird niya siya na at all. Tapos isama mo pa na puro taas lang ng boses ang ginagawa niya. Unlike Lea she is versatile saka tolerable sa tenga pakinggan.


Si Toni pang masa lang naman ang beauty niya hindi pang world class.  Matagal na akong napaplastikan dyan kay Toni. Kala mo naman sa The Buzz napaka sensible ng advise niya at may credibility sa mga statement niya puro daldal lang naman.

sabi ni hubby si Toni daw ay typical na artista... plastic na plastic daw.. and i couldn't agree more with his opinion, swak sa banga!  kaya i'm not liking how ABS/ Star Cinema is giving her big shows/ movies...
