I am a fan of Joanne Chang's recipes. Sarap talaga. Very detailed and labor intensive but really work and taste good.
^welcome to the baking club, sis! ako din, i bought my oven around 8 months ago and since then na-hook na ako sa baking. nareignite ang passion ko sa buhay. haha. parang tamang in love. nagsimula ako sa macaroons, brownies, cupcakes. then eventually when i felt i was "ready", cakes na ang ginawa ko. di ko pa natry gumawa ng bread, though. i can bake all day everyday, every recipe is a challenge kasi iba iba sya. grabeng ang gastos nga lang ng baking sis, bulto bulto na ako bumibili ng ingredients para makamura (lalo na ang flour at sugars, dahil staples sila). tapos yung mga utensils pa.kung saan saang lupalop pa ako ng maynila pumunta to hunt for good buys when it comes to utensils--quiapo, divi, cubao, marikina. nakakaexcite maghanap--yung mura mo mabibili and at the same time hindi mo mahahanap basta basta sa neighborhood supermarket/department store. (unsolicited) tip ko lang sis: if you're planning on baking cakes eventually, bili ka ng electric mixer. kahit handmixer lang. it saves time and effort, plus mas even ang texture ng batter. if you're planning on making frosting din, need mo talaga ang electric mixer.
Question: Possible naman to bake cupcakes with just whisk di ba? Or I need to buy an electric hand mixer na talaga? Hehe. Planning to bake either red velvet cupcakes or chocolate lava cake for Valentine's. Thank you!
