I am a fan of Joanne Chang's recipes. Sarap talaga. Very detailed and labor intensive but really work and taste good.

What's her website, sis?

She does not have a website sis. I bought one of her books, titled Flour. She has a bakery in Boston with the same name. Yung Bakery nya may website, www.flourbakery.com. Pero walang recipes doon. I'm planning to buy here 2nd book. I like her explanations eh. Very detailed and you would know naman when a cook/chef is matalino when it comes to cooking. Talagang every ingredient makes sense and has a function to the entire product.

Ahhh, sayang, no website. Check ko sa bookstore :)

To those sisses looking for a choco cake recipe,  check page 3 of this thread. Was backreading and saw a tried and tested recipe na daw there. I'm gonna try it too :)

But her recipes are probably blogged already. So pwede mo na lang igoogle. My top picks are her brioche dough at lahat ng mga recipe nya using brioche dough as base. Saka banana bread :)

Ako naman I get my recipes from Joy of baking website. Very detailed tapos may mga demo pa. I have tried many of the recipes there especially muffins and cakes, okay naman ang output.

^welcome to the baking club, sis! ako din, i bought my oven around 8 months ago and since then na-hook na ako sa baking. nareignite ang passion ko sa buhay. haha. parang tamang in love.

nagsimula ako sa macaroons, brownies, cupcakes. then eventually when i felt i was "ready", cakes na ang ginawa ko. di ko pa natry gumawa ng bread, though.

i can bake all day everyday, every recipe is a challenge kasi iba iba sya. grabeng ang gastos nga lang ng baking sis, bulto bulto na ako bumibili ng ingredients para makamura (lalo na ang flour at sugars, dahil staples sila). tapos yung mga utensils pa.

kung saan saang lupalop pa ako ng maynila pumunta to hunt for good buys when it comes to utensils--quiapo, divi, cubao, marikina. nakakaexcite maghanap--yung mura mo mabibili and at the same time hindi mo mahahanap basta basta sa neighborhood supermarket/department store.

(unsolicited) tip ko lang sis: if you're planning on baking cakes eventually, bili ka ng electric mixer. kahit handmixer lang. it saves time and effort, plus mas even ang texture ng batter. if you're planning on making frosting din, need mo talaga ang electric mixer.

Hi goldengoose! Sorry, ngayon ko lang nabasa ang message mo. Ngayon lang uli ako napadpad sa thread. Di pa rin ako nakabili ng electric mixer! Hahaha! Pero may weighing scale na ako. Hehe. Magpapabili na ako kay hubby para finally maka-graduate na ako sa cakes. Just baked apple turnover (sobrang dali lang pala nito) saka banana bread tonight :)

funky_f: Sa joyofbaking, may category na healthy recipes. Dito ko kinuha yung low-fat banana bread recipe that I baked tonight. Pinapa-cool down ko pa kasi kaya I can't say kung okay. Update ako soon :) I've also baked cornbread. This is what I pair with muesli for breakfast instead of peanut butter toast. Less calories :)

Question: Possible naman to bake cupcakes with just whisk di ba? Or I need to buy an electric hand mixer na talaga? Hehe. Planning to bake either red velvet cupcakes or chocolate lava cake for Valentine's. Thank you! :)

I suggest you buy an electric mixer kahit hand mixer lang. Mas madadalian ka lalo na for frostings! :D

Sa mga sissies natin na nag-ssell ng cookies, how do you scoop your cookies? Are you using 1 tablespoon / 35mm ice cream scoop? TIA!

Hi! Saan kaya makakabili ng malaking glass jar (for flour and sugar) dito sa atin? Similar to the ones that Ina Garten was using sa show niya? Nakakita ako sa Amazon around 15usd Anchor Hocking ang brand pero wala akong makita locally. TIA!

Last december nagsale sa handy man yung parang ganung jar kaso medyo maliit. From 500 naging 350 each. Nakabili ko dalawa lang kaso nung recently naghahanap pa ako wala na ako makita. I've seen some din sa SM dept Store, kaso 1k ata each.

I would like to try baking meals/ulam.  I usually see pre-heat oven 350F.  Simple recipes lang so I want sana yung kasing laki lang ng microwave oven. Meron bang ganun?
