Sakin it depends. When I was younger, if I don't like the guy, straight out, ayoko. If I like the guy (crush ko), then he likes me too, eh di lalabas kami. Danger lang nito, is you won't get to see or know yourself more as far as your taste is concerned - sa pagdating ng personality ng guys. Sobra akong naive. And this was the reason din why I only had 1 and only bf na naging hubby ko, na eventually, we separated ways. Kasi both of us were so young then. We did not know any better. I did not date other men and so did he.
Now that I am older, I went through dating. Yes. For around 6-8 months, yes I had multiple dates. Nakakapagod pala. Nakakalito din. I have trouble remembering some stories told by one with the other. But in doing this, I abide by my rules:
1. Both should be honest on what you are looking for. As for me, I was open for a relationship, but I am not desperate for one. I also let them know I date because I want to get to know the opposite gender more as I did not get that chance 20 years ago.
2. I am clear with my objective. I want to see what's out there as my image of men are so tainted that all of them are liars and cheaters. I only date men who meet a certain criteria. Then I go from there, kung ok ba sya, compatible, lahat ng things na puede kong maisip, plus chemistry.
3. I have to set the limit. Cannot be physical. Kasi di mo pa nga boyfriend yung tao, pano kayo magiging close. Know your limits. For me, hanggang holding hands lang paminsan minsan and beso beso.
Also, not going out for the sake of going out. After x number of dates, kung wala talaga, wala talaga eh. Then I have to tell him. Di na kelangan sabihin ang reason, sabihin lang I am interested with someone else, and it is best if we just stay as friends.
4. Yes, having that kind of attention is very flattering. I also enjoy the attention. But definitely I do not expect lavish gifts, kasi isosoli ko iyon. As for dates, kung sya nagbayad, I would graciously thank him. Pero next time, I make it a point to also treat him.
So in summary, I am just defending myself for having had multiple dates. haha And I do not consider myself as a playgirl because I don't string them along if I know na wala talaga. But it is important for us girls to meet guys (not necessarily being close) for us to know ano ang tipo namin. What we want, what we don't want. Because eventually, this will be our guiding principle in terms of choosing our life partner. Kung hindi kasi namin kilala ang sarili namin, paano kami makakahanap ng kabiyak na ka-compatible namin panghabang buhay?
